"Pussy" is an old timey nickname, as in "pussycat." A "pussycat burglar," or "cat burglar," was someone who is particularly good at robbing the second floor or above, undetected.
It’s the fault of the “th” sound, which isn’t common outside of English. In Italian his name is Antony. Which makes it far more obvious why Tony is short Anthony.
Just gonna add that both Gabagool and Capicola are both malapropisms of the Italian word Capocollo (at times also know as Coppa) which literally means "back of the head and neck" which is the part of the animal that the cured cut is from. In southern italian dialects is pronounced slightly different depending on the accent, then all those dialects mixed with people having to speak english brought you those weird nonsense English terms (I call them nonsense because they don't have the original meaning anymore)
Arrested Development and Always Sunny are my favorite comedies, so it’s cool to see you getting to my favorite drama (though Sopranos certainly has heavy comedic elements. I remember someone calling it a live-action Simpsons).
Lets do this!! I heard The Sopranos is supposed to be one of the greatest dramas of all time!!! I'm excited for this one!!! Also I'm starting another show soon, send in your additions to the poll here!!! www.patreon.com/posts/show-86638077
My favorite show ever made and I’ve watched it about 3or4 times. I love it so much tho I’m going to keep watching ur reactions!! Let’s gooo a crazy journey coming up.
Big Pussy is the one who helped Christopher get rid of the body, and also the one who threw the ice cream off the bridge. He's a great character in a show full of them.
I bought my Mom a DVD/surround sound system 15ys ago.Too complex. A few yrs ago I bought her the simplest dvd player they make. She has an iPhone! She can text and stuff! 🥰&🤬 I’m Greek, we’re not total mama boys, but still ❤our mama’s.
Im already watching 2 Sopranos reacts, but i guess its 3 now, bc i really liked this, you had intelligent observations & seem to be liking the show so far, & getting the humor :) which not everyone does. Its probably my fave series of all time. Keep in mind the pilot was shot a year before the rest of season one, so it might seem a tad uneven compared to the rest, but the show only gets better here. Also, Tony is the boss in this ep, but starting in ep.2 (which remember was filmed almost a year later), hes a captain. Thats not a spoiler, they just retconned it, bc it worked better scriptwise i guess. I bring it up bc some ppl get confused when they get to ep.2. Youll see tho that even tho hes a captain, he's got the respect of the guys & they listen to him bc hes a natural leader. One thing i would mention is that, while you already are good at talking during empty spaces and not talking over dialogue too much, i would say this is more important in the Sopranos than a lot of other shows, because the writing is amazing. Alot of shows it doesnt matter as much bc a lot of the talk is bland tv dialogue, missing it isnt missing much. With the Sopranos theyre always sticking in little jokes, connections, callbacks to other things, and incredibly funny little throwaway comments. As well as clues/info about events both past and future. Just saying, its worth catching as much as possible of it :) Also, if you made the react a little longer, like 5-6 minutes, you could let scenes breathe a little more and we'd get more of your reaction, but thats just personal preference. Anyway, ive subbed & cant wait for the next one! Ps- Tony us a common nickname for Anthony in the Italian-American world ;) Eta: saw you had more eps on Patreon & caved in & subbed!
I am perpetually in awe of the fact that James Gandolfini was only 37 years old in the pilot! That means Anna Kendrick, Lana Del Rey, and Shia LeBeouf are all older now than Gandolfini is in this pilot. For me it’s the gravitas he brings to the role. It’s that he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. You look at him and think “oh this man has seen some shit”. The man has secrets. He couldn’t play Tony Soprano without that.
It's Monday morning quarterbacking, but why didn't they just run a stolen car into Artie's place, causing just enough damage to shut it for a couple days instead of destroying it?
Understand that practically every food is mispronounced on the show, and I'm not sure why. Gobbagul means capicola ham. It's fatty and I imagine pretty tasty. They called manicotti manicott, prosciutto is prosciutt, mozzarella is mozzarel...... I don't know if this was the showrunners trying to carve out their own niche or just something to drive people crazy.
okay, let's go! fifth time watching Sopranos then... it only gets better as the episodes go by, too bad without a gabbagool to go with it kkkk and if you allow it, watch Goodfellas, it will make the Sopranos experience much better
HOLD UP, YOU havnt seen goodfellas?... Stop what you're doing, PULL up your schedule and set aside some time do knock that one off. Then a few days later, knock out Casino if you havnt seen it, then once again finish the trifecta with "a bronx tale"
Here's my excuse to finally watch the sopranos! I remember all the hubbub about the very last shot of the finale when it aired but I have no context to whats actually happening in that scene so this will be fun. Ps, Would love if you did Brooklyn 99 next, you will enjoy it so much. 😊
Silvio is the one who blew up Vesuvio. He's Tony's consigliere, or right hand man. He's played by Little Steven of the E Street Band with Bruce Springsteen. Such a great, expressive character. Has so many good lines!
I am about to state an extremely unpopular opinion. With that being said, I do not like this show. However, I do acknowledge that I probably have not given the show the fair chance that it seems to deserve. And, I may have unfairly judged the show. For instance, I have never made it past the third episode. I don't know why, but I constantly fall asleep during the first few episodes. I find it incredibly boring. I have tried to watch this show on three different occasions. And, every time I always fall asleep; I can't explain it. The last time I tried to watch the show again, was about 4 years ago, with my roommate. He had never watched the show, either. I told my roommate that I would like to finally get through the entire show, but again, for some reason I always fall asleep. So, we finally sat down to begin the series. And, guess what? Yes. Around thirty minutes into the first episode, I was asleep. It's so weird. I can't get through the first three episodes. Lol. I think I may give it another shot ...

Tony is the most common shorthand for Anthony.
It’s the fault of the “th” sound, which isn’t common outside of English.
In Italian his name is Antony. Which makes it far more obvious why Tony is short Anthony.
Gabbagool, also known as Capicola - A dried smoked salami made from pork shoulder, usually sliced thin like lunchmeat
Just gonna add that both Gabagool and Capicola are both malapropisms of the Italian word Capocollo (at times also know as Coppa) which literally means "back of the head and neck" which is the part of the animal that the cured cut is from. "All the characters seems so real here" Welcome to The Sopranos :)
You've heard it said over and over "one of the best of all time"
It does not disappoint.

You’ll enjoy it. Let the Journey begin
It's more of a comedy. People who only see the drama miss the point entirely. Every one of the characters in this show is a joke.
@@spookyhokumthe fuk r u talkin about 😂. How dark the show gets is insane. Yes it is one of the funniest shows ever made, but it’s not only a comedy.
Google listed it as a Dark Comedy when I looked it up.
@@KungFuNight just saying it’s not ONLY a comedy lol. You’ll see soon enough. Enjoy.
This show is great. I think it has some seriously underrated hilarious moments

Just one advice, watch it as a Dark Comedy.
Gabbagool is compromised of two key ingredients: a mixture of 50% Gabba and 50% Gool
I am perpetually in awe of the fact that James Gandolfini was only 37 years old in the pilot!

Best series hands down. Tony is the real Kingpin. Dope reaction man.

one of the G.O.A.T
It's how some pronounce capocollo or capicola. It's sandwich meat.
Gabbana gool you gabbagone

You haven't seen Goodfellas? Not only is it one of the best movies ever made, reaction videos of it always get a lot of views. Just sayin'
