    This is such a great lesson! It's my first time to read this Sonata with you and practice the bowing techniques on this beautiful music which I never thought I would be able to play. Thank you so much.

    Gosh, such 'pianistic' violin writing. Great insight.

    Hey Julia great vids as always! I have a question if i may? when the violin is resting on the collar bone and we put our chin on it, are we not supposed to pinch the bottom of the violin with our shoulder? it gives more stability but add extra pressure, this should not be done?
    Thank you.

      It is better not to pinch (I call it "cradle") Yes, it may feel more stable but it leads to the static contraction in the shoulder region as well as the neck. The longterm repercussions (pain, compromised function) are not worth the 'pinch'.

    Очень интересное видео, большое спасибо! А что это за чёрная насадка на верхней деке у студента на скрипке?

    • @ViolinClassUSA
      @ViolinClassUSA  Год назад

      Эта (резиновая) насадка защищает обечайку от касания волоса (канифоли), а так же от случайного задевания ее металлом колодки. На выступления она снимается, но на уроках можно и оставить.
