@@marysmith8685 - how can you know the monkey is not "happy" off camera? Do you know the family? You have been to their home, met them, seen and experienced a day in the life of their family? Including the monkey? How do you define (quantify) the word "happy" as you have used it?
Try smaller nail clippers. If something spooked you , you could easily cut off part of its fingers all twenty of them!
That shirt looks itchy to the skin. Some say it's easier to use a mail file and file them down then risk hurting them. That's a very sweet tiny monkey. You should wrap her in a blanket & hold her securely. She needs security.

It is no different than a dog, cat, horse,,cow etc. I feel as long as a person is not mistreating the animal and caring for it and taking all pre cautions on safety it seems that it should not be a problem. We put clothes on other animals, some animals are richer than humans or should I say estates has been left for them. Now what is the difference?

He wasn't an orphan until your 'friend' took him from his mom!! I guarantee his mom is still alive and she's looking for her baby!! It's wrong to kidnap them and force them to live with people! And DON'T cut the nails. They are suppose to grow and be sharp so they can climb trees and everything else they are suppose to. Talk with a professional vet if you are going to keep the kidnapped baby! And look at the thumb it's white and much bigger than the left thumb due to him sucking it all the time. He is self soothing because he doesn't have a mother to do it for him. He NEEDS his mom! You aren't taking proper care.

This is pure greed on your part to put his mom in such distress mourning is loss after a 5-1/2 month pregnancy & the birthing process, not to mention the abuse this is to this newborn. Do you give baby fruit he's old enough to start eating some solid food... Not just a bottle...hold him please that will make him adapt to you and bond to you...please stop laying him in his back he needs to breath and developed his lungs...all I can say is just let him/her cling to you put him on your shoulders...also groom him like a monkey mom would gently stock his head and nose that should relax him...he needs to cling to you that will keep him from sucking him/her thumb...he'll have to use his hand to hold onto you for balance...just give it a try...it's very important that you remember he's a monkey... He's old enough to climb on things and explore...I hope this advice helps him/her to feel more Luke your it's mom...remember he misses his mom and you have to be more like a monkey not a human baby... It's so cute and sweet...I know you want it to be happy please try the things I've suggested...oh and reprimand the older monkey he gets to rough with baby...

@@marysister1743 - all we can go on is what we have been told and since I am unaware of anything else this monkey has no mom and animals do not have the same cognitive memory function as humans so I think it is something we do not have to concern ourselves with. That is most likely the best we can do with what we know.

You should use baby nail clippers. Those are way to big.
Actually they need to FILE it's nails and NEVER use clippers as they still leave the nails very sharp. By filing the nails, it eliminates the sharp edges and avoids the danger of cutting too the nails too close, which will cause the baby pain and discomfort.

You need to hold him most of the time until he gets older and starts to explore...sucking thumb is a sign of stress...he's not happy at all he needs to be held all of the time when he's a baby ..try a pacifier and let him sit on your shoulders keep him with you all if the time...a fuzzy stuffed animal would be good for baby to hold onto...remember he's a monkey not a human baby...he shouldn't lay on his back all of the time carry him around with his belly/stomach facing the floor he needs to be right side up...remember he'd a monkey...he needs held not laid on it's back...I hope you read the comments...get good advice...remember you'll have this baby 20-25 years
What this person NEEDS to do is give the infant to a sanctuary so it can grow up like a monkey since that's what it is. It's doubtful it will be kept past the "cute baby" stage anyway since this person probably can't handle a juvenile or adult monkey.

I fear your instincts are correct and you should listen to them. You are not qualified to take care of a monkey. That baby looks like it is 5 minutes old. I'd be real interested in where you got it and what happened to its real mother.
Why is it that every baby that is taken from the mother only a few hrs. Or minutes they all have some kind of. Mental problem they sleep to much or they suck their thumb all the time and some are never happy. I don't know what these people think by putting nice clothes and diapers and feeding them by bottle that they're no consequences. That baby would be better off with it's mother it reminds me of Santa and other babys.
