hey, I play at hunting creek regularly, just stumbled upon your videos. I played at bellarmine and would love to get a round in and pick your mind out there!
Alex, I tried this today and it took me about 9 holes to start executing. But the second nine was a real improvement to my game. Thank you for this suggestion, it worked for me.
yes. excellent lesson. when a player swings back from the holding position, gravity assists the movement of the club and this carries the club thru to the point of propulsion, when the club is parallel to the target line. but, when we do swing all the way thru, beyond the holding position, it is so important to activate the muscles around the left pelvis, when the left leg has straightened, to keep the left hip moving to the left. i use an air resistance implement to swing to the holding position. it makes it easier to stop in that position, and, it strengthens the hands and the arms.
Hi Alex, great lesson once again. Composure seems to be one of your great assets i take from your lessons. I play of 18 and am struggling to get consistency . If your ever visiting North Wales my club is Porthmadog Golf Course and would love a game. I might even throw in free accommodation for you 🤔👍👍
I've been doing this as my pre-shot routine for a few months now and it's very effective. It sets the plane and sequence automatically without analysis and thinking about positions. As a pre-shot routine it locks in the feel just before I swing. Dr. Kwon is big on this, he calls it his stage-3 drill.
Many of us amateur's try to hit the ball to fast and hard, resulting in our shots ending up places so bad, our heads go down and we feel sad, so try this drill from Alex and you will feel glad!
Agreed. I find myself just snatching at the ball from the top. Usually have so many swing thoughts from the takeaway to impact and weight/pressure transferal. Impossible. So this season, I've promised myself to focus on two things and two things only: tension and tempo. I'm often far too tense and rushed. So supple wrists and body and take my time.
@the art of simple golf thank you but hom address the issue that your back swing is decent but your forward swing and/or closing is not matching or scrap?

That’s great to hear. I didn’t know anyone had coined the move but it’s quite old school. Momentum is key. Thanks for sharing 🏌️♂️👍

Look at the downswing lesson in description and pinned comment. That and the body vs arms downswing video too 🏌️♂️
I have a question does overlap/interlock do anything to affect the swing?
It’s very personal but a school of thought is interlock leads to a more handsy swing
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf I mean it saved my swing lol I used to suffer from a slice and now I hit butter cuts
