This is one of the best metalcore albums I've heard recent years. There is a lot of very consistent metalcore albums that doesn't really stick with me but the emotion and the lyrics makes this album better overtime.
this album is HUGE. thorns and the fire itself are absolutely my favourites. it's mostly because of the transitions. this band has mastered the fluidity of transitions, and i can always appreciate a good high scream like at 7:05 and 12:35 (the second one is probably my favourite transition in any metalcore song, along with the transition into the heavy bridge in makeshift harmony by monuments). but the rhythm switchup at 13:20 still surprises me as well. the production of this album is top notch too. the world is standing still while these guys are on hiatus
I’m glad you covered this because I’ve been caught up in Bleed From Within and pushed these guys to the back. Definitely going to have to get back to this album.
Good review man. The Storm In Me was the song I cried to every night after leaving the ICU when my dad passed. Love this album and even have a tattoo of this album art
If it makes you feel any better, that song is about struggling with the crippling fear of failing as a father. Condolences man. If you had that rough of an experience in losing your dad, then he must have been proud to have you for a son.
The main guitarist from Phinehas is the guitarist from Fit For A KIng! This album is absolutely golden though... I wish more bands would do stuff like this.
Was really happy to see you check out this album, I always enjoy your takes cause we usually share the same opinion. This album is incredible. I've been a fan of Metalcore for almost 10 years and this album came out only 3 years ago and it's still in my top 10 favorite Metalcore albums of all time. I would have loved to have had my reaction channel back when this album came out lmao Great video sir, much love to you
My favorite album for past few years. So well balanced, almost each song has it's own hook and Eternally Apart has everything you want from great metalcore song, it's just perfect. Songs have complicate riffs but stays melodic and are not overdone.
Phinehas have always been incredible and I've seen them live many times! Their music is just really fun to listen to. They never put out a bad album in my opinion.
I'm definitely late to getting here (just a guy dropping by to see what someone reacting to the album thought of it), would you be willing to check out the song Meaningless Names (it's in an older album of theirs called Dark Flag)?
I remember these guys from a while ago, I think they were on the same label as ABR or Fit for a King or something. They were alright then, let's see Edit: Hey! That was surprisingly good! The ending was completely wack though, I had the same reaction, I thought my speaker was messed up or something like what?? Hahaha anyway, if I ever got back into playing electric guitar Id definitely go back to this album because those were some juicy riffs!
Ever done an album reaction for August Burns red, phantom anthem? Or a review of any of their songs? Would you check out their song coordinates by chance? Never seen a review or reaction to it, and it's such an amazing song!
Dang man. Their entire discography is solid fucking gold The god machine, the last word is yours to speak, till the end, dark flag, it’s all perfect. I don’t dislike a single song they’ve put out.
My favorite thing about Phinehas is that they are unapologetically metalcore in a time when a lot of bands are moving away from a classic metalcore sound.

The drummer is an actual stud. Can't speak on how it's recorded but his name is Isaiah Perez and he's amazing :)

@@Matt-ij7pethanks man. I never saw your comment until today. Appreciate your kind words. I’m a father also so it’s good to know.

This band has been putting out absolute HEAT for a decade and are criminally slept on.
Seen these guys 14 times over the past decade. Really good dudes. Even with members being switched around. Thanks for giving them a listen
