#9 For anyone confused by the explanation, basically Mercedes are designed not to roll like other cars. It's most noticeable when leaving a stop sign that's on a down hill. In most cars you can just let off the brake and the car will roll away on its own. In a Mercedes you have to have pressure on the accelerator pedal for the car to roll normally.
Congratulations. I want to suggest that if "Mercedes-Benz" is offering extended coverage (warrantee) for your car, consider buying that now, if you haven't already. The reason is the cost for extended coverage will be less money during the time when you first buy a car (within a month or so) because it's considered a good road worthy car by the selling dealership. But if you wait too long the cost for coverage goes up and up. The reason is because there are people that buy the coverage late because they damaged the car, and they don't want to pay a big repair bill, and the coverage is less than the bill.
The hook on the handle is in case you need to tie the hatch down when you have a long item in the vehicle inhibiting the closure of the doorway. It's why it's described as "temporary tie down" in the owners manual.
while accessing your spare you will notice a long ribbon and hook and guess where you stick that hook to keep the floor hatch open while grabbing your spare and tools? you got it.
Thank you. I didn't know that. I thought its only purpose was to hold-up the lid in the trunk floor. I confess, after we bought our car I left the Owner's Manual out in plain sight, and for the past three years it's been collecting dust. Maybe now I'll read it after shaming myself in public.
The hook on the handle is more for your dry cleaning. If you're walking up to the car you can hit the button open it and then hang your dry cleaning while you're moving stuff inside the car or setting things down if your hands are full that way you can put it on one of the interior hook handles on the back seats.

The info about the gas pedal sensing answered a question for me! Once in a great while, while turning onto a street, it has seemed like my car almost stalled! Now I know that I am causing it and will work on not lifting my foot! Thank you!
I have that feature on my 2011 BMW, and it saves brakes. Car will decelerate with foot removed from gas pedal. It works well on down hill portions as some cars will upshift and go faster. I have the original brakes and rotors after 93K miles. My older cars would burn thru brakes in 40K miles.
I have owned my first ever Mercedes for a year and a half now and knew about 4 of the 'don'ts, but you answered 3 things I couldn't figure out (THANK YOU!) and the rest was news to me! Awesome...!

Thanks for making this video.😊 what I wanted to know is what does those three soft buttons under the rearview mirror do? And I also wanted to know if you can turn off the dimming, and if you can turn off the feature that makes the Sideview mirror tilt when you reverse.
3 buttons on the bottom of the rearview mirror can be programmed to open garage doors. Watch my video how to do it here ruclips.net/video/NK61NimaPUY/видео.html. Also, you can switch your right mirror from tilting while in Reverse, if you switch your mirror control from the right to left mirror. The driver who downshifted by accident made, "The Wilhelm scream!!!" It has been used in movies and videos since 1953!!! Very entertaining and informative video. Only knew about half of these, and that REST feature is the best one I just learned about. How embarrassing that we never realised we had that option. Thanks :-)
Great car. It's not a full SUV, it's based on the C-Class chassis, which is great but not as god as GLE if you take it off-road. GLC is great for a city-drive, good handling and good fuel-efficiency, easy to park. It has excellent safety features.
I just want to make a little correction; the older models do have some of the A/C features. My 1998 C230 will turn the recirculating off after around 30-45 minutes to allow fresh air inside the cabin. It also send cool air to the cabin frame to cool it down.
Reading the comments before actually watching the video but I do have to agree about 1 thing as somebody that's been around and driven a lot of diff Mercedes over the past 27yrs when my dad bought his 1st which was an '85 diesel don't remember what model cuz I was 10 and didn't know anything about MB yet. And I do have a point regarding the C230 in all this. But he then progressed thru a couple early 90's gas E300s but the 1st Benz I was old enough to drive was his '95 300E turbo diesel that he owned longer than any other MB because it was soo solid and reliable and I made the mistake of not buying it from him when he finally got rid of it and my brother did. Then a newer E320 and E350 and now his ML350. Stepmom started w/ a '87 300SDL then '98 S320, 2002 S320, '06 E320CDI and now her GL450 which I was lucky enough to drive all of them atleast once. The 1st Benz I bought was a '75 300D which unfortunately the engine was bad but the guy was nice enough to take it back since he didn't know and I took it straight to the shop for a once over and found out the day after I bought it. I say all that to say this, the 2nd Benz I bought was a 1 owner 2000 C230K Sport sedan in '08 w/ 70k miles.. 1st 3-4yrs the car was great, the last 3yrs I spent almost as much in repairs as I paid for it including replacing the supercharger 6 months before I cut my losses cuz it was something new breaking or going bad that cost $1000+ every 4-6 months and I got a whole $950 trading it in instead of spending another $1200 to get it running... out of every diff MB my family or I have bought, that w202 C-Class was the biggest piece of shit once it passed 100k miles... as much as would love an old C43 or newer C63 I'll never buy another C-Class
@@OC.Harm230 That's an unfortunate experience you had. I got mine with 99K miles and now ir reaching 260K without mayor problems. I didn't want the Sport because been a MB tech at the time I knew the Kompressor will give me headaches at 100K. The only mayor problem was the transmission conductive plate, which I replace myself expending $260 between the plate, filter, gasket and fluid. Still driving it for almost 100 miles every day and going strong.
22 years same Merc W212 diesel 180k miles. In Europe. Body rust progressively repaired. Mechanically sound, still original everything except some springs/dampers. Only 2.7 ltr but, can behave like E-Type Jag. We don't just go places, feels like we float there in safe solid comfort.
The headlight off at night or in the dark is very useful. On the Fisher Island Ferry, they require headlights off while the ferry is navigating across the water. And if can be quite uncomfortable having to turn off the vehicle and no A/C. Great tip to be able to keep the vehicle running with A/C on and lights off.
Nice walk through. Re #5 (Manual shifting to Auto/Drive). I have seen quite a number of MB tricks videos and it seems like all you guys always show the same complicated way to switch back to auto mode, after using the paddles, by holding in the paddle for a while. Actually the easiest way is just to flip down your "gear selecter" like you want to put it into Drive (again). It will switch you back to Auto right away. Same same, just easier.
You can do it, but not all Mercedes models with paddle-shifters had transmission selector on the steering column. Especially the older models had mechanical transmission selector in the center, between the seats.
you rock , your videos saved me a lot of money. thanks . i should have gotten the tire protection plan. I replaced 2 run flat tire. I love the hey mercedes feature I don't have take my hands off of the steering wheel. I purchased the baby benz gla 250 4matic.
I have a 2016 GLE. The headlight if you turn the dial all to the left when you shut your motor off and leave the vehicle your rear taillight stay on (1 side only). My neighbor had to call me few times to let me know my light are on, lol. For the Fuse diagram in the W209, CLK it's up front on the driver side on the side of the dashboard and it's in German. I went through living hell trying to translate it to English. I have not look for it in my GLE yet. There is multiple fuse box location throughout the SUV. I'm surprise you did not show the gas lid cover for the gas cap holder. Just little tip on the GLE maybe on the GLS you can change out the dust filter and the cabin filter through the firewall from the engine bay instead getting it through behind the glovebox. Much easier and quicker.
didn't know most of them. The one about the insane paddle shifter cancelling and vin location was great! Thank You. I have driven manual transmission vehicles forever and find the "paddle shift" ridiculous for MB.

Great video learned alot and to the point
Great teacher am following you ❤
didn't know most of them. The one about the insane paddle shifter cancelling and vin location was great! Thank You. I have driven manual transmission vehicles forever and find the "paddle shift" ridiculous for MB.
New to the MB family and we love our 2020 E350 sport coup. Thanks for the great vids.

My first visit to your channel. I have already subscribed. I learned more from you in 10 min than dozens of other video makers. Thank you. Also, it helps that I’m Eastern European because I’m laughing at all the nuanced jokes. Bravo. Well done. Keep up the good work.

I love your show 😂 I have a question: which is cheaper to maintain the S450 normal or the S560 4matics! And which year do you recommend 2018, 2019 or 2020?. Thank you 🙏
Never get a manual, all the German engineering went into the automatic.
