On 06/02/2022,
Officer was dispatched to the area in reference to a female wearing a swimsuit stumbling in and out of the roadway carrying a bottle.
The officer located the suspect walking westbound just past the intersection. The suspect was staggering and walking on the sidewalk. The officer exited the patrol vehicle and approached the suspect. Officer could detect the odor of alcohol coming from her person. The suspect believed we were in South Beach and was looking for her sister. The suspect was wearing a one-piece bathing suit and no shoes. The officer observed multiple scrapes on the suspects knees and feet from what the officer assumed to be falling. The suspect was unable to tell the officer where they were even after the officer advised her they were in Athens multiple times. The suspect was unable to stand without swaying and almost fell multiple times. The suspect had incoherent slurred speech and disoriented thoughts. The officer requested the suspect tell the officer her address multiple times and offered to drive her to her residence but she refused.
While waiting on EMS The suspect advised the officer she could easily run away, the officer advised the suspect that due to her level of Intoxication and her proximity to the roadway, she was not free to leave. The suspect attempted to run away and took approximately 15 steps before falling.
National EMS arrived on scene and evaluated The suspect. National EMS determined the suspect was incapable of caring for herself and offered to take her to the hospital. The officer advised her options were to go to the hospital with EMS or go to jail for pedestrian under the influence. The suspect again attempted to flee. The officer caught up to the suspect and advised her she was under arrest. The suspect was placed in handcuffs (DL, BB)
While transporting The suspect to PARMC to be evaluated for the scrapes on her knees. The suspect slipped out of her cuffs and proceeded to put her hand through the partition in my patrol vehicle. again placed the suspect in handcuffs (DL, BB) and she again attempting to flee. The officer caught the suspect after a couple steps.
The suspect was treated for her Injuries at PARMC and released.
Officer transported the suspect the Clarke County jail where she was turned over to CCSO.

Pedestrian under the influence: Guilty plea
Fine: $440
Bond: Unsecured judicial release(no cost)

Only the obstruction charge.
She pleaded guilty to public intox.
$440 should cover the man hours.
$440 bucks because she couldn't act like an adult and let the officer take her home or to her sisters house. Lol! That's an expensive night out😂 The officer did not want to take her to jail. He tried everything to not take her. I'm glad they made her pay something and not just drop the charges like usual
