Collecting is a huge neurodivergent trait. We tend to hyper focus on something and really collect it.

I think collecting is a way of connecting to the physical realm that grounds us and makes us feel more secure. We have something to hold onto.

For anxiety I recommend something that helps me - a set of wrist bracelet mala beads. The counting with breaths and passing through thumb and finger one at a time really has worked a great deal with me and you can always have them at hand and never feel lost without them.

There's also the worry I have devoting myself to one favorite deck over my life. The possible loss of that deck worries me as to how I might handle that and feeling lost without if it's something I can't replace. I can't explain that but it's an ever-present concern.

I know what you mean about "they are just things" but things do have certain energies from loved ones or "meaning" energies, and they play such an important part in creating a sacred space. I have many of my mom's things all around me in my space and it is so comforting. I have items from all of my family, and they create calm and comfort.

Hi Sandra 🥰That makes a lot of sense to me. I have always been a collector also .I have depression and anxiety and like you i sometimes go into a black hole. I have been diganosed with clinical and situational depression. I believe i have some learning disabilities and maybe adhd or add. A couple of my kids were diagnosed adhd so it is a possibility. Collecting Tarot and Oracle does the same for me. I love to look at them and use them and find it is a wonderful way to relax. I have had the weirdest January ever. I just can't seem to get into the swing of things. My house has been pulled apart and we are trying to sort and re-arrange things. My head is spinning with it all. I also don't like crowds and loud noise's make me extremely uncomfortable and i have brain fogg so bad i can't get my words out a lot of the time. It seems to get worse the days that i'm stressed which seems like a lot lately. I loved your video and your thoughts and enjoyed looking at your cards. Much love and many Blessings to you ❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰🥰☮☮

@@SunshineDawn7 thank you so much Dawn, it is difficult and I understand. I think when I get depression it is more situational but I do have severe anxiety and I get brain fog so wouldn’t be surprised if I am neurodivergent. I don’t like January at all it is always a depressing month I find with nothing really to look forward to. That’s another reason I love having new decks and why sometimes I wait to open them, so that I know if I can’t afford something one month then I still have a deck waiting. Much love to you 🥰💖

I haven't watched the video you're reolying to, but I note there are several points in your reply where you're self-disparaging about collecting things or this video.
There's nothing sad or silly about joining a collectors' club for something that you tske pleasire in collecting? You're allowed to like things and connect with other people who enjoy collecting the same things you do. 😊
We all have different ways of self-soothing, creating things that make us happy and coping with the stressors of living.
