I'm a Bluegrass State native, and I grew up in the 1980s, so I remember all of the Kentucky-specific stuff featured on this video. Great to see all of it again!
Ahhh this brings back memories. I was able to sit through this entire program at the tender age of 5!
I hadn't turned 2 yet when this aired on KET.
The sattlite that passes by during the sponsor segment of the program used to scare the living crap out of me as a 5 year old kid. Hell....it still does!🤣
This was the year KET launched its "Star Channels" satellite service directly to schools and libraries. I'm guessing that's why they decided to make satellite the focus of their legal IDs.
0:13-0:23, let me put it this way: "Funding for Frontline has been provided by a grant from The Corporation for Public Broadcasting and by contributions to your PBS station from Viewers Like You. 😊."
2:41, “For over 50 years, this is KET: Where Learning Comes to Life."-KET staff announcer #1.
"This is WKPC-TV Channel 15, Louisville, Kentucky."-KET staff announcer #2.
"This is WKLE-TV Channel 46, Lexington/Richmond, KY."-KET staff announcer #3.
WKLE is the flagship station of the Kentucky network.
You know what else is the station of The Kentucky Network? WKPC-TV Channel 15, Louisville!
@@danalong1237 WKPC was owned by the Louisville public television.
Before KET bought it in the late 90’s.
I remember that opening scare factor for Washington Week 82-88' A microwave with a rotating lamp that burns!
I only remember the words "IN REVIEW" spinning around the Capitol Dome.
Is it me or does the music at 1:31 remind you of lido shuffle by boz scaggs?
What’s that song playing at 1:31 (clue: it’s a knockoff of Boz Scaggs’ “Lido Shuffle”)?
they state line between kentucky and tennessee
Let's see: besides Paul at 3:52, we've got Ellen Hume, Jack Nelson, Charles McDowell and Haynes Johnson. Was that right?
whka and wkpc now part ket pbs for louisville and hazzard ky 40 miles cross state
Where I live, I can get both KET and a normal PBS station.
ThatRandomOshawott I receive PBS's satellite feed in HD, & SD KET, and LPB (Louisiana Public Broadcasting).
@@TheVintageTVArchive Even better, it would be fun to get the feeds
Same here
I receive all of PBS’s satellite feeds, also including LPB and Montana PBS.
@@TheVintageTVArchive I wish I could get more PBS feeds in Texas. KERA is the one that plays in Abilene.
