When it comes to Robbie songs that get ignored or forgotten, this is up there. Personally, I love this song (and Listen!) so I love that I can hear this live version! Real nice!
He has written some great songs. A great musician in his own right. Very basic bass patterns, but they work! "You Never Know," from Gutterflower is badass; so many layers of emotion drive that song.
@@PeteNThat Ah yes, You Never Know. That was a good one. My favourite Robby song from that album though was Smash. One of my favourite songs of his was Domino from Superstar Car Wash, but there aren't any traces of him playing it live... I like Life's A Message too. A lot of people don't like Robby's newer stuff because his voice is more suited to the old style they had, pure Rock. But I really like some of his newer songs. Since COVID has kept people home, there's an increased chance that The Goo Goo Dolls could release a new album this year since they've had a lot of spare time. I mean, they made a Christmas album (which grew on me a lot), so we could be in for another album soon!
His stuff which George cowrote like impersonality and lovedolls is the best. Yet like you mentioned he never gets the chance to perform live. He should get back with George and Mike anddo all his early work. Would be majestic fo show.
