    Natalie knew that Leonard did something to her boyfriend. He showed up to the bar in his suit with his car and the not she wrote to her boyfriend. She made a comment at some point about him having a nice suit if I recall

      It really wouldn't be surprising if Nolan left Guy Pearce in the dark while shooting and gave him clues because, like you said, his performance is so convincing, I love this movie so much as well! I also cannot wait for part 2 haha I'm about halfway done!

Calm down dumbass, it's just some random youtuber talking about a movie. Did he pay you to post that comment or are you just his 2nd account?

      Lies

    • @iralabeouf7646
      @iralabeouf7646 20 дней назад

      Teddy said Sammy was a real person but was a con artist and didn’t have a wife or memory problems. Lenny lied to himself because he couldn’t live with the fact he killed his wife and changed Sammys story and said he killed his wife so he could live with himself

  • @d1jezek
    @d1jezek Год назад +6

    it seems to me that the Sammy jenkis story has to be pretty much the way Leonard tells it and Teddy is lying when he says Leonard killed his own wife. if leonard's condition works the way we're supposed to understand that it works, Sammy's had to have as well or Leonard couldn't use that memory to repeatedly explain his own condition to himself. he basically has to start every day with this reminder or he's stuck living the confusing moment after his wife's death every morning and he's stuck at square one. he feels guilt about Sammy and that helps him feel righteous about avenging his wife but also reminds him how his strategy with the notes and the camera works. if Sammy was faking his condition, that would be the only way Leonard would remember him and that memory wouldn't lead him to any of the other stuff.

    • @DannyConcepts
      @DannyConcepts Год назад +3

      no… because at the end of the sammy flashbacks… when a nurse walks by sammy.. suddenly for half a second it is leonard in his place at the mental institution so sammy is def leonard

    • @jameltaylor4241
      @jameltaylor4241 6 месяцев назад

      @DannyConcepts That doesn't necessarily mean he and Sammy are the same person, maybe its just that he identifies with Sammy.

    • @kadmii
      @kadmii 20 дней назад

      it could be that he has some limited capacity to remember but associates some latent memories of his wife having diabetes and the way she died with Sammy, either by mistake or because he can't accept the situation. He has amnesia for sure, but just like there was a belief Sammy could learn to regain his ability to form new memories, so too could Leonard but in a jumbled, very imperfect way
      we know Leonard can retain some memories, because he does retain through the day an awareness THAT his wife died and THAT he has amnesia and THAT it happened from an attack on the home. He doesn't fully reset every 10 minutes, he only loses the last 10 minutes again and again and again

    In life, one of my pet peeves is that some fonts make a #1, a lower case "L" and an upper case "i" all look a straight line. At 8:54, you can see the license plate is clearly SG13 7IU (3rd character is #1 and 6th character is capital "i"). At 9:56, you can see where he writes the 3rd and 6th characters as a straight line. Then, at 9:59, you can see that she tattoos SG13 71U (the 6th character is a #1). I hate this movie because of this oversight (not really, but it bugs me and I do NOT have any OCD/ADD issues).

    • @iralabeouf7646
      @iralabeouf7646 20 дней назад +3

      Why do you think it’s an oversight and not intentional? A major idea of the movie is that memory is malleable and that what we think we see/remember and what we tell ourselves is not always accurate. I think that aligns perfectly with the narrative.

    • @thisisfutile
      @thisisfutile 19 дней назад

      @@iralabeouf7646 Fair enough. I just assum that most people aren't going to make that observation (again, I'm probably in the fringe of people who look for this specific issue of 1's, L's and i's). Indeed, it does fit with the movie, but doubting the writers did it intentionally.

    DO YOU SURF?
    Very, very Interesting.
    Dahudeeeeee.
    This is a good flick and the only Nolan movie 👁 like.
    I was lahossssst a bit from most of this but your explanation has removed some of the fog.
    So let's review.
    Leonard was knocked the hell out defending his babe from a burgal-rapist.
    His short term memory trauma resulted in him conflating the accidental overdose of the babe with the attack.
    So his life is like Captain Ahab chasing Moby Dick or Sammy G.
    A detective uses him in a side hustle as an assassin ostensibly to aid him in his quest.
    This lucky streak continues until he meets another babe as luck would have it of another one of his victims.
    This femme fatale decides to use him herself to get someone off of her back and avoid heat.
    She promises too to help him in his quest. She gets the license plate number tracked to his handler Teddy yet another "killer" of his wife.
    He finally defeats him and takes proof but this victory is short lived and due to his short term memory the journey must start AGAIN!!!!!!
    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
    👁 FEEL LIKE I'M ON KRAZY PILLS!!!!!!!!!!
