@@frfras7 there really isn't a good guy in this film. The cop lied and manipulated Leonard into murdering people (bad people but nonetheless it's murder) and was also planning to take the drug dealers money after Leonard killed him. That being said, you could argue that he was doing all of this because he felt sorry for Leonard and wanted to give him a purpose, but he just got carried away. Leonard manipulates himself presumably so that A. He has something to live for/a purpose - finding John G even though he already killed him and B. To allow him to live without the guilt of knowing he's responsible for his wife's death. These are understandable motives but ultimately cause him to frame Teddy as his next suspect for John G and murder him. I can sympathize with Leonard's motivation but he also goes way too far and essentially murders people to ease his conscience. The last main character, Natalie, also manipulates Leonard convincing him to "get rid of" someone who is coming after her for her own benefit by lying to him. Also, she is obviously a shady person to begin with given her involvement with drug dealers. That being said she does actually help Leonard and is arguably the least guilty of the 3 within the movie because she at least isn't responsible for the death of anyone. Ultimately, you can't really consider any of them good guys but they aren't exactly bad guys either, all three are just people making bad decisions due to understandable reasons.

Nick Hurst ya, you were probably being sarcastic. was just going along. let me get this straight. he said that he was going to review all of No man's films. all I said was that I was looking forward to his Inception review. sorry if I didn't put it clear enough. my bad
I also highly recommend Nolan's first film "Following" - it's a good film on it's own with a Hitchcock-like atmosphere, but it's even more interesting to see as a stepping stone to Memento - you'll see where a lot of techniques and ideas for Memento came from.
One of my fave movies ever. The brilliance of this movie is really in creating the experience in which you literally feel like you have the mental condition the main character has because of the order in which the scenes are playing out. Every new scene that goes backwards you have no idea wtf is going on 'cause you don't know what happened before that, same way he has no idea 'cause he forgot, but he has to deal with the situation anyway. It's mind-blowing, the film-making that truly transcends.
Zombitious He said one of the greatest films ever made. Not THE greatest film. I'm also pretty sure Chris hasn't seen those movies yet, except for maybe Mulholland Dr.
If you've been doing this before this episode Chris, I haven't noticed, I wanted to compliment you on something I noticed this time around: the editing. No jump cuts. It does wonders for your production value. It's a little touch, but it's a touch I very much appreciate.
Both Memento and Inception are my top ten for best films of all time. I still can't believe Nolan hasn't won an Oscar for his work. If I remember correctly, Dark Knight Rises wasn't nominated for anything. It's a shame.
long time listener, first time commenter. THANK YOU! I have been waiting for someone to make this review for a very long time. I actually get angry when there are debates about best Nolan movies and people have the audacity not to mention this movie. in my humble opinion, easily, well maybe not easily but his best. most underrated movie of all time?
I loved how when I watched this movie for the first time I would constantly in scenes be asking "wait how did THAT happen?" as if there was a plot hole or something but because of how the film is structured, I would constantly be getting the answer to my question within the next scene! So Awesome!
This is the only movie I have seen that I truly believe is 100% perfect. There is a video on RUclips of Nolan explaining this film and hearing his thought process making this film is mind blowing. This man is a genius and inspires me to try and write something as original or clever as this. I love this film every time I watch it. Nolan is a true artist.
CHRIS WHAT THE FUCK I literally just finished this movie for the first time a few minutes ago and I went to RUclips to look up analyses of it because it fucked me in the head and I see that you just uploaded this. this is extremely weird.
People who give Nolan's movies very negative reviews are either fucking stupid, or are too jealous of his genius. Trust me, I've read rotten tomatoes and imdb reviews, and the negative comments are either "Oh I didn't understand shit. Too confusing and uncompelling for movie-goers" or they try to be smart and say "Oh plot holes here and plot holes there. Pfft, Nolan! Thinks he's a smartass like me" when in fact there aren't plot holes, and the movie explains it repetitively. There are also some liberal "philosophers" who yell "Pfft! No literary significance at all. There's no art in this!" when in fact there IS several layers of depth that are blatantly intended by Nolan. Luckily though, there are way more people who appreciate him, and slow down, take some time to fully apprehend the talent and genius.

I guess I should go watch this on Netflix now 😂 been meaning to for a while
Is it???
Alexis Thanks Alexis, but sadly I am on Colombia's Netflix so unfortunately I can't watch those films :(
Luke Zimmerman its not on netflix
Alexis only Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, Inception and Interstellar are
TheOFamily5 In USA it is with: The Prestige, Following, and Memento. In what country are you?
Just finished watching it, then rewatched the first 5 mins and it already started clicking.
Watched the Prestige last night, I could watch this and that again next week and have them be new experiences, so well made
I'm just waiting for his Inception review. I loved that movie and I want to see what he thinks of it now
Pele Mccarthy he reviewed it
Nick Hurst I know. but like I said, I want to see what he thinks of it now. it's been 7 years and as he stated in the review 7 years ago, there wasn't a lot of good movies. a lot of things contributed to the good review. sorry if it wasn't clear
Nicholas Wilson that wouldn't be such a good idea though. I mean, it's possible but still...
Pele Mccarthy ohh gotcha
Nick Hurst ya, you were probably being sarcastic. was just going along. let me get this straight. he said that he was going to review all of No man's films. all I said was that I was looking forward to his Inception review. sorry if I didn't put it clear enough. my bad
I also highly recommend Nolan's first film "Following" - it's a good film on it's own with a Hitchcock-like atmosphere, but it's even more interesting to see as a stepping stone to Memento - you'll see where a lot of techniques and ideas for Memento came from.
You know, this is especially impressive for this being Nolan's first feature film. This is still Nolan's best movie to me.
Following was his first feature film.
@@NeoConnor1no he made a movie before following in 1997 I forgot its name , he made Following in 1998
One of my fave movies ever.
A+ is my guess. Fantastic film!
O shit never mind.
This low key one of the greatest films ever made. The way they story is told is about as unique as it gets and the execution was incredible.
David Lynch's Mulholland Drive review? Or Alejandro Jodorowski's The Holy Mountain? Or Andrei Tarkovsky's Solaris or The Mirror?
Zombitious He said one of the greatest films ever made. Not THE greatest film. I'm also pretty sure Chris hasn't seen those movies yet, except for maybe Mulholland Dr.
Holy Mountain isn't one of the best films
unless you're one pretentious dude
Liliputian07 Right, technically it's amazing but I'd rather eat dog food than say it's not pretentious drivel.
Frankly, it's not even technically THAT amazing
It's well done but it's hardly a 10 or even a 9
+Liliputian07 it's a 9/10 easily
If you've been doing this before this episode Chris, I haven't noticed, I wanted to compliment you on something I noticed this time around: the editing. No jump cuts. It does wonders for your production value. It's a little touch, but it's a touch I very much appreciate.
Chris is clearly trolling everyone with his thumbnail photos now.
Both Memento and Inception are my top ten for best films of all time. I still can't believe Nolan hasn't won an Oscar for his work. If I remember correctly, Dark Knight Rises wasn't nominated for anything. It's a shame.
It made me think of one of my favorite revenge movies, and Guy Pierce movies, The Count of Monte Cristo. Thoughts on that movie Chris?
One million subscriptions later and Chris is still just some guy who loves movies and gives cool reviews. It's good to know.
Quite possibly my favorite movie of all time.
long time listener, first time commenter. THANK YOU! I have been waiting for someone to make this review for a very long time. I actually get angry when there are debates about best Nolan movies and people have the audacity not to mention this movie. in my humble opinion, easily, well maybe not easily but his best. most underrated movie of all time?
You should review Memento next.
What’s Memento?
I loved how when I watched this movie for the first time I would constantly in scenes be asking "wait how did THAT happen?" as if there was a plot hole or something but because of how the film is structured, I would constantly be getting the answer to my question within the next scene! So Awesome!
chris review The Godfather
Great acting by Chris in the intro along with great shots and editing.
congrats on 1 million subscribers
Your openings are getting so much better every time 😭 Good job dude!
You should review Mulholland Drive.
George Stephenson Agreed! That and Eraserhead, 2 of the most confusing movies I've ever seen besides Memento.
Mr. Keyser Söze Yes to all of Lynch's movies
It's sweet that Christopher Nolan made this movie based off of his brother's short story "Memento Mori".
My beautiful man crush Chris Stuckman!! Love you man
He chose to do the wrong thing in the end cause he didnt want his life to be without purpose.
This is my favorite film ever made. Donnie Darko is probably my 2nd favorite and they are both Newmarket Films.
Just watched the movie today. This is what i called a puzzle.
Deathpool Everyone on the Internet is a bit except you.
Same. May god be with us.
What if I told you... it's your favorite movie and you have seen it 20 times before, you just can't remember it
1 Million subscribers! Congrats man and well deserved
Joe Pantoliano fucking Rocks every role he played
Do full metal jacket
