    Hi Alex love your products and watching your videos. My question is in relation to measuring out fragrance in mls or weighing in grams some sites say to weigh in grams as oils can weigh different and measuring in mls you may not get the correct scent throw can you please help.
    Thank you

      HI Joanne. I'm glad you enjoy the videos thanks for the positive feedback. It's a question that i've been asked alot. I use mls, always have and always will as it is so much easier than weighing. All fragrances do have a different viscosity so the amount of mls compared to weight will differ, but the amount it will differ is not really much to concern yourself with. The majority of our fragrances are around the same viscosity. We give a variable of between 6 and 12% to scent your candles. When using the mls method you are achieving between this variable every time. Sometimes you may equal the weight in gms, sometimes you will be under and sometimes you will be over. There's no set amount that a candle is supposed to be scented at. Whatever method you choose stick to it, don't chop and change from one to another. When testing your candles and you are not happy with the scent throw then you can increase it or decrease it if it's too strong. Don't forget all fragrances are different and some fragrances may have a weak scent throw compared to others. Not everyone wants to be overwhelmed. Hope that clarifies things. happy candle making.

    Do you need any certificates/qualifications to start selling candles?

      if you are based in Australia, no. I cannot comment on any other country but Australia does not have many regulations around candle making so it's up to you to make sure you are educated and keeping your customers safe.

    hello aussie candle supplies when you make candle making can you able to use Stoneware (canister), rubberwood (lid) and silicone (ring) is safe for candle making?

    • @aussiecandlesupplies
      @aussiecandlesupplies  5 лет назад +1

      HI Marisa, as you don't use the lid when burning the candle then that is fine. As for stoneware, if the manufacturer says its ok for candle making then it should be safe. If you are unsure always test first for your own piece of mind

    Hello Aussie Candle Supplies Hello sabr1na86 How are you? can you lit the candle in the silicone jar? and can you able to use any oil and perfumes oil too? What temperature should I add fragrance oil to my melted wax? and how much oil or perfumes oil to put in the melted wax?

    • @aussiecandlesupplies
      @aussiecandlesupplies  5 лет назад +1

      I wouldn't recommend lighting a candle in a silicone jar however check with the manufacturer of the silicone jar to be sure.
      you need to use candle fragrances and essential oils in your candles. Add the oils around 75 degrees celsius. you can add between 6 and 12% oil to your melted wax

    • @aussiecandlesupplies
      @aussiecandlesupplies  5 лет назад +1

      @@marisarouillon371 you can use glitter however it will likely clog the wick and prevent it from burning correctly. You will need to do a lot of test burning. Anything in candles other than wax is a potential for a second ignition source. Be very careful what you add.

      Aussie Candle Supplies I bought the ACS 7.0 wicks from your company and the clear crystal votive jars as that was the recommended wick. I tried burning a candle and it caused some tunnelling. If I were to put 2 wicks instead of one would the candle burn better without leaving wax around the edge of the jar?

    • @aussiecandlesupplies
      @aussiecandlesupplies  7 лет назад

      ok before you change the wick heres a few questions. How long has the candle been burning for? how big is the tunnelling? It's tunnelling badly or just leaving a little bit of wax? I'm gathering since you didn't mention the wax it is not the brand we supply which can also have an impact. The recommended wick is to give you a starting point otherwise you will waste a lot of money trying to figure out where to even start with your wicks. Finish the candle completely then make a judgement. If it leaves wax around the glass and it's only a tiny bit, go up one size. If it is leaving quite a bit then go up two sizes and then test burn again, the whole candle. This is important as it's the finished product you need to evaluate as much as how it is burning throughout the life burn. You can get a great burn with one wick with some patience. Two wicks are another kettle of fish entirely and you need to be careful of overwicking and causing damage to the glass.
