Nice job, John. If you have taught me one thing, it is to embrace imperfection! That’s where I find my inspiration and resilience to keep painting. Thanks so much for sharing your gifts.
You are my favorite artist on RUclips, John. I have only been watching your videos for a few days now, but I want to say, they have inspired me so much recently that I feel full of ideas to get back to water color painting. I set the hobby down quite some time ago, but you have rekindled the flame. Thank you for your videos, I hope to see new ones soon.
Don't beat yourself up over that sky. Leaving the building white draws your the eye away from it. Love all the greens it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland for some reason
I feel your OCD pain! To be clear - your sky wasn’t anywhere near as offensive as you thought it was, but I do know how it feels to be straight off dissatisfied. ☺️

True that the sky is not your best ever, but maybe you could have added some clouds to cover for the mess? Anyways, lovely painting and great vid!
I really enjoyed this video - even if it was just one of those days when the sky does not come out right. Is there a way to save the painting when something like this happens? or is it better to start over?
No sky is ever perfect, that's why they're everchanging. You're an inspiration none the less.
Nice to watch you paint again. Sorry you got thrown off track straight away but it happens. It happens to all of us. Carry on 😓💌

Thank you Ben, very kind of you to say thanks for taking the time to comment - much appreciated.
That fan brush makes great pine trees. Various kinds.

Thank you so very much for your very very kind words: I’m so glad I’ve been able to help in a small way.
Hi John, attended your workshop at masham, your advice and tips have given me more confidence in my painting, cheers, great video.
Thanks Dave, so glad you enjoyed the workshop and that you’re getting something from these little videos.
