Two things that would make completing sets more easier: 1) Double the amount of pack points earned from 5 to 10. That's 600 points per month, 900 with the premium pass. 2) Extra star cards can be be exchanged for pack points at 50% their market value. Of course, players must own more than two copies of a star card in order to exchange it.
Agreed, after the limited rewards nobody ever goes back to them and they just sit there useless, and so the trophy for solo battles sits there not being completed. They should raise the exp for battles with people and then have the 15 for winning against solo, and have some sort of reward for the time investement of redoing solo battles. Perhaps you get a couple hourglasses for winning and like the venusaur event the hardest ones are guarunteed, and letting the multiple typings in expert just be a way for you to win against it at all since the limited cards making decks harder to build means you'd be limited on your types.
I wish events gave you ACTUAL rewards instead of just emblems or re-skins of already existing cards. So far this game is hard carried by the fact that it’s a Pokemon game.
@@arlikmaldonado1098but it’s not rewarded. If they simply add the “free” stuff they give out to rewards for battles/events/tournaments then people will feel better about themselves and we’d play more to get more and potentially spend more money.
It may be because these last 2 PVP events are the first of the game's life, but simply playing the game in a different queue to track your wins doesn't really feel special enough to warrant the title of "Event". I think something along the lines of Hearthstone's Tavern Brawls would suit this game a lot more nicely. A game mode where the rules are constantly changing and allowing players of all skill levels and investment levels to use their cards in fun ways would be a great way to get folks to use the app for longer than the minute it takes to open a pack.
I legit think they're petrified of having to add textures and details to all the Pokemon. I battled with Hitmonchan the other day and was just looking at how simple (but good) the design is, but also thinking like if they upscaled that, the gloves for example would need to really look like boxing gloves right?
Can't really blame them tbh, one time GF try be creative with making BW, but back there people doesn't like those creativity and prefered something that Nostalgic, so know GF stop creative and just sell "Nostalgic" thing
@@ChaosAngel9151Right, maybe if they didn't have a bunch of fans that were complaining about the new games STILL say that they were going to buy the next game regardless of quality they'd actually have to try. In the meantime they're fully content with just sueing whoever approaches their level of sales
I think it's a good model to keep it simple and allow for new players an easy level of entry. They should get rid of the limit on rental deck usages, but keep them sub-optimal. And they should add filtered categories for casual matches (for example, let beginner mean no EX cards in the deck).
I agree, I made a “low level” no ex deck to try and have some fun with the mechanics (and ditto) but people with mewtwo ex/gardevoir decks and other decks like it are flooding the beginner level. I don’t even think people realize there are different tiers, it took we awhile to notice the button! But there are also killjoys.
I hope for more events for both single player and multiplayer. One event I'd like to see for single player is an elite four type event. You'd pick a single deck and would have to beat the 4 elite four members using just that deck, with no ability to swap anything out and then beat the champion afterwards using the same deck. Failing to win on any member would mean starting again from 1st battle or the 5 total. They could introduce a harder version of the challenge for better rewards where you can't make a deck, and pre-made ones are what you have to use for it. And I hope they do less win steak events for multiplayer in a game like this. With things like initial draws or going first causing you to lose. Though for multiplayer I'd love to see an event based around no EX Pokémon.
I feel like people don't know how to play this game? I use no ex decks at all and win like 70% of my battles. Won the 5 in a row with no ex deck.... Read your cards and test stuff out that sounds fun and could work. If your plan is to play and go Mewtwo ex and gardevoir or Pikachu ex or anything else it's an easy counter. A damaged primeape will 1 shot pikachu ex just as any pokemon that can poison will apply pressure to mewtwo before it can be powered up
I'm considering that they're in the post-launch analysis phase and either brainstorming or programming more features after maybe 90 days in. I'm wondering if they'll add an expanded, optional game mode to reflect the IRL game. 6pt matches, 30 or 60 card decks, so that more Pokémon can be used apart from the minimalist strategies due to 20 card limits.
Yeah, I think they make great mini events for sure, they have their place, and are better for casual play, especially as mementos, but I feel like a big comp event is needed where winners are few and far in between, but awarded with a special promo card tied to the event or something. Idk, maybe they have something bigger planned.
If they were to release a card that only a very small amount of players are able to possibly get, then it would have to be purely for collecting and not competitively viable, because otherwise they would get an unfair advantage.
This is really incorrect assessment, its NOT PAY TO WIN. I am 100% F2P and have most meta decks (pika, mewtwo, charizard, starmie although i lack articuno), you can reroll to get a good starting deck to grind pve and pvp, theres also wonder pick and free packs, if you know which cards to target you can get them and craft the cheaper ones with your pack points to complete your target deck, f2p players need to plan their summons and wonder picks. I would only say its pay to win IF the rarer cards have different STATS than the normal versions which is not the case. Also, non meta decks can still beat the meta decks because of luck factor in pvp speaking form my experince with 700+ wins and experimenting decks, i love this game, its approchable to casual players because its not overly complicated and you dont have to be a die hard pokemon card game geek to play but at the same time has enough depth to battles and deck building which is a good balance, its one of the few mobile game that is not pay to win and ive been playing mibile games for a LONG TIME.
Same. I have 2 of the 3 immersives, every card but like 6 exs, and over 50 star cards, and all I did was the premium free trial, which gave me 15 extra packs.
@@ChooseYourStarter-c7x there is no p2w element ( no ladder that gives you resources- not some budge- the higher you go ). And obviously if someone starts later he will be behind in card pool, thats a no brainer.
@@sarthakarora3212if you're f2p then you're not meant to complete the collection. that is how it works with physical TCG as well. in fact, you have better chance to complete the set in Pocket bcs of the free packs.
I'm glad it exists and it's very helpful, but it's very very flawed. Pokemon are way overpriced, a crafting system more similar to tcg live would be way better
Yup, I’m just gonna stay on the full TCG. At least there I can resell when I’ve made a purchase. I bet you lose less money on the physical TCG assuming you resell compared to Pocket. Also, I have the cards physically, I like that more than the cards just existing on a digital app.
If you’re a yugioh player then you know this is kinda like the Duel links version of the meta game so enjoy it while it lasts because eventually you’ll have to pay to keep up with the meta right now Everything is relatively fun and expirement phase of the game
It already has a meta You just play a game designed by literal terrorists Like even pokemon at it's worst is still way better than Yugioh could ever be by design
Yeah, one of the reasons because i dropped duel links was because it became more and more p2w. The other reason was because the meta became more and more oppressive, and it was no more fun to play pvp
@ I feel like this is the best time for new players to get into the game learn the basics before it ultimately becomes a p2w game so definitely 👍 agree with you on that
@@YOSavageryLOgive me your logic on how it’s p2w. Whether you pay or not you pull from the same pool, you can make meta decks f2p most f2p will complete the basic dex and get mew. They just won’t complete their Pokédex which only the whales will not even low to mid spenders will fully complete the dex
Unless you care about having all full art crown whatever version of a card you can build meta deks. I havent put any money on the game and I have charizardex, mewtwoex and pikachu ex deks. There are also a ton of decks better than the one listed as the top tier. Mirowak ex dek completly shuts down pikachu and blaine deck is pretty decent as well.
I’ve literally played since day 1 release of the game and I am only missing Venusaur and Wigglytuff EX. I have two of all the other EX cards. My EX hit rate is slightly above average in comparison to their pull rate and how many cards I have. It’s more so pay if you don’t want to play the game.
Reason why the game's main revenue comes from Japan is prob because these types of mobile games(soshage) are their main medium of video games. I'm Japanese and I have friends that spend $1000+ on mobile games every month. Many people play these types of mobile games as their primary game in Japan so we justify spending insane amounts of money on them.
Just another RUclipsr saying the game will die unless X happens, and then I read the comments of all the people saying it’s p2w and then i see the audience you are catering too
How can one even say it's p2w, when the game literally gives you 1000+ packs a year for free with minimal time effort. Is there any other TCG that gives you that many packs?
It would be cool to see an event where we have a wheel to spin to start the match choosing from rare, common and maybe even crown (at a lower chance) once spun your card is chosen and you and your opponent battle for it
ngl I expected a pretty lackluster video, yet the ideas you gave around 5:00 you should really talk about these and expand on them. They would be great additions
the pack point system is kinda discouraging. I think they could've allowed us to use them for any pack/set and it would've made barely any difference, when it comes to sales. 10-15 days for a 3* card, 33-50 days for a 4* card and up to 167-250 days for a crown rare. I understand that different sets like A1 and A2 use different pack point, but even a mini-set like A1a using different pack points is kinda a lot. if they continue to introduce new pack point types every ~45 days, it will become unrealistic to craft anything more expensive than a 3* card. maybe the thing to do for free-to-play/premium pass players would be to start saving pack hourglasses when a new set comes out and then spend them on the next set. just an example: let's say you spent a bunch of money on A1($200-300 or more), take a break from the game and return when A1 rotated out. you'd especially be no different from a new player.
To address the deck creation issues: they should expand on the deck rental feature, making them easier to reach, editable to a certain extent, and with much more use. They could also add as purchases base sets to kickstart the deck creation. For the more hardcore players: we need a leaderboard and full competitive mode, otherwise what's the point of collecting all these cards? For all: definitely other game modes / missions would be cool, I'd introduce them after fixing the above issues.
It's funny hearing people who probably got into the app after not having contact with the pokemon TCG for years (if not ever, considering I've heard people who claim 'nobody knew how to play the game even back then') and coming up with the same problems I did when I got in a few years back. No special rulebox (GX, V, Vmax) mode would mean 90% of the game becomes playable, I wish that was a thing.
Not really pay to win, just pay for more chances. Also seeing that trailer, it looks like a bunch of the cards in that mini set are Pokémon that were in Genetic Apex which is really disappointing since we only have like 200 something Pokemon out of the 1000+ that exist and we already have 2 or 3 cards of some of them.
Trading card games are inherently pay-to-win. The best cards are often more rare. But what I like abt TCGP is that the pace of getting new releases is relatively slow. So free-to-play players actually can catch up to paid players. I myself am a FTP player and I have the cards to play most meta decks (only missing Starmie Ex and one of Mewtwo ex, pikachu ex, moltres ex and articuno ex in terms of the more popular meta decks’ cards). The case above is impossible for real life TCG as from the get-go, unless someone gifts you a deck, you are required to pay to get even the most basic and weaker cards.
I think one thing they should add is allow users to get a minimal half the exp of winning when they lose. At the moment when you lose and earn nothing that's a big waste of time. And second, if they're kind enough, after say every five wins you get few wonder pick hourglasses or something along with just exp. Lastly, the wonder pick is really frustrating, don't y'all agree? Spending 1-2 wonder pick stamina, ok let's hope.., but spending 3-4 stamina and you'll be pissed if you only get a common. Instead of random, they should make a game of memory base or some type of mini game giving us higher chance of targeting what we want from the wonder picks than just random.
Feel like there’s a lot of issues right now with this app. 1: Duplicates are basically useless. All I can do is use them to foil up my cards which, oh boy, that’s neat but not necessary. Let me junk them for crafting points and get cards I want 2: Pull rates feel terrible, feels like even regular holo rares only show up maybe once or twice a week, and I’ve only gotten a handful of EX cards. The pay to win statement is really leaning true here. 3: The game feels unbalanced, in other games there are advantages to going first or second, but in this, if you go first it feels like you’re at a huge disadvantage where the opponent gets to start energizing and attacking right away. Especially when basic EX cards like Mewtwo are good right now Right now maybe it’s just because the card pool is so small, but the gameplay just doesn’t feel fun, it’s just get your EX energized and win.
I have 224 of 226 genetic apex cards. Most art rares and some of the most rare shiny full art, not the gold but second rarest. I also have mew. Only paid for the subscription. Participate in events and battles. You'll earn more hourglasses that way which will get you more packs. I also have every promo card
I meeeaaann, I di agree, they soon enough should add in new events that keep players wondering and figuring out if they're is a lore too. Story line event type deal.
Once more sets come out and each type has enough support, they should bring the precon decks like the online tcg. I loved those (I played the garchomp one) and playing even with only the precons is still fun
I don't think they should rush anything out. We've had so many games attempt to strike while the iron is hot, but end up shipping broken, poorly designed content that does more harm to the players than good. Let the devs take their time
It does feel a bit weird to call a trading card game "pay to win", that's how the genre has always worked and how all trading card games are. I really wouldn't say pay to win is an issue at all, what is going to be an issue is new player lockout. When we get to a point where you need cards from like 4 different sets to make a meta deck, its going to be really difficult for new players to both learn the game and make strong decks for events.
it is supposed to be a casual battle tbh. even the dev mention that it will focus on collecting cards and as advertise people to tcg instead battle. even I who never play tcg addicted to this tcgp of how minimalist it is
The biggest problem they will face from income perspective will be the trade option. People are buying packs with money because of the absence of such trading feature. For example I would happily trade my mewtu ex vs a beedrill. Question is how they can limit such that it does not become frustrating. One way of doing is requiring dust and exclude full arts from trades. Also to avoid bot farming who sell good cards at eBay for common cards in return (pay2win but company does not profit)..
Actually hit a wall after playing (and paying some $) after about a week. Made a knockoff blain blitz, completed most events, all the solo stuff, and compiled a large card catalog. Now it feels like "ok, I've played the game. what a shame. I wish there was more to do and earn and discover and not just buy gold to increase the chance of unlocking more cards".
I was thinking they need to do what Hearthstone did let you exchange your extra copys of cards you have into crafting dust don't know why this is not in the game all ready.
I’m comfortable with the fact that I’m just gonna be outside of the meta when the new mini set comes out. I’m not spending money or spending hourglasses on the mini set and saving them for the new box. If I get lucky on my free packs and get something good (really only interested in mew ex and vaporeon), I’ll hop back online. But with no competitive ranked mode in sight there’s no reason to go crazy with packs this early in the games life cycle.
I like your new game mode ideas... they could really do something good to keep people playing, because at the moment once you completed all the missions, events and CPU objectives, there is nothing to do outside some pvp that only reward 15 xp. I would like to have gyms and/or elite4 battles that if you lose you have to start over but if you win it will give some XP or currency, but that must be repeatable without any limits otherwise is the same thing. They put too much limits on what you can do/buy/farm. I know they want money but is still limited even with premium and spending money.
I think the games not really p2w. You don't need full art to play and EX pokemon is not really that rare and with training there's no problem getting duplicates.
It's not pay to win at all. Sure if you want a flashy EX deck straight away paying helps, but as a f2p player you can make very effective decks very easily until you open enough packs to make those flashy decks.
What sucks is they reduced the rates because of all the rich people who have nothing better to do than spend money on digital pokemon cards, originally opening 100 packs would get you several ex cards now you would be lucky to get 3
I would say tho that I think the pacing and the gacha system of the game is the way that it is, is because of the upcoming trading system that we will be getting. Of course we don't really know how it works, but by then one can argue, that paying players would have more leeway not to spend money and instead trade cards with f2p players that are lucky enough to get the card/rarity that they want, and thus f2p players will also have access to the meta cards that they would want to build. That is unless they prefer getting it themselves via gacha or simply get even more copies and unlock more card cosmetics. On the game being p2w aspect, personally I believe it's not really like that. I think their problem lies more on how the game can attract players who just have little to none prior card game experience and actually keep them invested in the game. Personally, I would argue that the game is 40% luck and 60% skill, the skills include deck building, distribution of energy, risk management etc, which is not really one can expect in an average pokemon fan. But half-baked decks do still win and f2p do still put up a good fight against the meta simply because of the 40% luck factor on this game (going first/second, drawing the right cards at the right time and coin tosses), which would be more or less enough to complete the recent events if one does grind it in theory. Also, the beginner stuff that you get via unlocking AI battles is I believe enough to get you a decent enough points and cards to make a good deck, that is I guess if you are soooo unlucky and lady luck hates you a lot 😂😂 at that point you might as well make a farfetchd deck haha
I don't think the game is pay to win because you can be free to play and get a meta deck, and once they add trading that would help out a lot of people too.
I still don't have moltres ex so I can't use most fire decks, and I only just got 2 starmie ex's withing a few packs (a 2 star starmie in a god pack than starmie ex later) so it's taking a looooong time to get what I need. When the game just wants to throw gardevoirs at you and you have 2 of the 2 star mewtwo and a regular mewtwo ex, you kinda need to be boring. Honestly I think the odds of good cards are a little low, so either raise the rates for better cards a little bit, or make godpacks more common. And raise pack point gain so people can reasonably collect every card even as a f2p before the pack expires and you lose the points and any chance to ever get anything, without sacrificing the chance to get anything on the other newer packs.
Yeah this game is not in trouble. Honestly just as a free pack opening simulator. 2 packs a day is great. I love it just for that and im pretty sure ill keep it around a long time as a pokemon fan just opening those 2 free packs a day. Might even get me into the real cards which is definitely what nintendo wants😂 The digital card collection is quick and seamless to show others. And personally i love the art and video arts. And im excited for the potential of the art. Even they could do events with real physical cards. Its quite an exciting game. Before it came out i knew itd be big because of pokemon but also seeing what it was. It mimics the real world feel of opening a pack and the real cards very well in my opinion. From that point i knew just any pokemon fan would throw money at this game. I guess i am happy that it is 100% free to play also. I mean i have most of the cards and have not had any issues battling.
I love the idea of new PvP game modes! I think that would help keep this game afloat in between set releases for sure! (Along with the mini sets, little events, new solo content) TCG Pocket isn’t really Pay-To-Win though, sure paying gets you more cards but the RNG in this game dictates any match. From the opening coin flip to the order of the deck and any other coin flip based card it’s all random enough to make or break a match. So no matter which cards a person has or how good a person is, luck is a huge part of this game in matches and it’s the only thing that hasn’t killed the game already lol (that being said you still certainly need the cards necessary to build a solid deck no doubt! It can be done without paying though, paying just speeds it up!) With only one permanent way to play PvP no casual players will want to play against a cesspool of lobbies filled with Meta decks 😂 the RNG in this game gives casual/new players a fair chance to compete (sometimes) against Meta decks
The problem with the game is how barebones it is right now, AND how inconsequential winning matches is. The point of the game is to collect cards to build decks to win matches, and yet winning matches DOES NOT give you anything that goes towards "buying" more packs. Matter of fact, you CAN'T "buy" packs. You can only wait for them, or speed up the timer. There is no real in-game currency that can be used towards progression and packs aren't "for sale" either, not even for real money. It's a dead end system. Also, there's no means of trading cards in a TRADING CARD GAME. Huge oversight there. There's nothing to do with all of your duplicates. You can't even recycle them for more pack points to craft new ones.
@drippsosauceyy7243 its not very efficient, though. You're STILL forced to use hourglasses FIRST before Poke gold even kicks in. You don't even have a choice. Even though you paid for it, its still a secondary option. And then, why do they differentiate "paid" poke gold from "non-paid" poke gold?
@@En4cer2K9 yeah that’s true idk why they make you use the hour glasses up 1st I don’t like that! I bought some gold and wanted to only use that so I could stack up on some hourglasses but it wouldn’t let me so that’s a let down for sure. And idk why they have to separate paid and non paid makes no sense 🤷
Better rewards for participating in events. Maybe free flairs for card tied to the event? Or include more cards? The fire wonder pick event was cool because I was able to build a Blaine deck and Arcanine EX deck. That’s event was lackluster, but very helpful! More pack points. I horde my points because it takes forever to get more! More incentive to buy pass. If I have the pass, I should be able to earn gold over time to have a chance to buy Erika’s packages. It felt like a cash grab when I got the pass for more packs, but now I have to spend more??? Consolidate pvp events. Streak and wins should be in the same event. This is obvious.
The fun part of Mew is it can go in any deck being that it has colorless. Actually it's best to run it in non-psychic or fire since they avoid the energy discard of Mewtwo EX and Charizard EX.
I hate the combat PvP events, because so far I've been FTP player, as I don't have a lot of free cash. I did do the 2 weeks of premium, which I balanced around being able to crush out two months' worth of rewards in that time. I somehow ended up with 4 picahus EX, but no Zapdos. But the balance on the promo packs is frigging insane. For example last event I was trying to get 2 of each card. I ended up with: 7 Venasaurs 1 Greninja 10 Haunters 12 Onix 10 Jigglypuff I just wanted a 2nd Greninja because of how good the card is and I have yet to pack pull one.
They already are in trouble, stupid new emblem events have started and the first jackass I run into is a person with immersive Celebi EX & serperior, sweeping my fire team!!!
We literally would get trading, it might solve most problems. Like yes, we will need to wait to trade cards, but getting a bunh of decks opened with it is still grat, like even without trading, fully f2p i have so many decks i can use.
I think the more game modes it will have the longer the queuing will be. Id stick with the current game mode. What most people are waiting for is more packs and full access trading. Making limited cards too.💪 The heck they call it "Trading Card Game" if they will just limit the trading to trash cards. 🤣
I agree with this. I never tcg in my life but I was watching trading card store simulator content on yt and it grew on me so I dl this app like, eh sure, and these limitations became clear around the end of the 2 week free trial. Battles are contrite, repetitive, the race to play the same cards in the same order most every match. They need to give us more novelty less ex bleh
This is my first foray into Pokemon TCG and I have no interest in the physical game. This is good enough for me. I'll still play the video games, buy plushies, etc. but I'm not going broke over Pokemon.
If some info about Pokemon TCG Live, theres hackers in which maybe causing players to stop playing the game. This might also be a factor in why Its making less revenue.
That overreaction. I am free to play player and i got 1096 cards so far. 212/226 so far. I got dark meta deck , pikachu meta deck , blaine meta deck , mewtwo meta deck , machamp ex meta deck and charizard meta deck. Maybe i have other things too not sure, I got 45 wins and 5 wins in row no problem. Also got every promo free to play cards from events. Remember that there will be trading too at some point.
People keep complaining about the game being P2W while being lose in PvP is absolutely hilarious. You lose in PvP either bcos of skill issue or luck issue. The game literally give you free 200+ card (by finishing the mission, event and solo battle, only if you do) before you enter the PvP matchup. Obviously with 200+ card, you will get more than 1 ex card even if your luck is below average. And people keep complaining about how meta deck conquer the PvP matchup without even trying other available off-meta deck and complain about not be able to finish the meta set. I literally only use Arbok, Weezing deck (no ex card at all) and still swept all so-called meta deck in new PvP event(5 win-streak). Lots of underrated card are being ignored and the fact that the battle system literally have the 'weakness' system where every deck type have its own counter type, you can just bring the counter deck if you already know majority of the player will bring the meta deck, (unless you play dragonite deck, that not even ex and 'meta'.) Yes, the more you pay, the more card or pack you will get, but that doesnt change the fact that, ex card is only a 4 diamond rarity, which is only a millimeter above the average of the card rarity compare to full-art card. The star card (full art card) just only meant for collector, not for player. If you are collector, obviously you need to P2W, if you are just an average player who want to enjoy the gameplay, F2P is already more than enough.
I think this is a over reaction card games need to power scale to keep interest the idea of pay to win is still limited to skill and luck when the game so far has a limited pool of cards I'm not against gamemodes and limitations they can be interesting though there's no absolute need to keep interest also the point of not being able to fully 100% every set builds into the aspect of deck building and brings forth more creative builds
@ or maybe, instead of better rewards being solely reliant on a game that’s incredibly uncompetitive to begin with. Just make the rewards for battling, better?? The meta is bad enough as it is and rewards better than 15 exp a match being solely delegated to a ELO system is only gonna make that meta worse
I think we can both be right here: I would like to see a proper reward system similar to Pokémon go where there’s not just XP which does next to nothing, but item and catch (card) rewards as well; I think the promo cards are a nice touch but should be expanded to pvp rewards too, along with pack/hourglass points to craft and collect more often. And an elo system can mitigate weaker decks or non meta decks from getting steamrolled.
I'd agree if Misty was consistent, Moltres EX is better overall because it has fixed coin flips instead of a random chance you can steam roll that seems to only work when you don't need the energy. Well that or if you or your opponent fail a Misty which seems to make the opposite player's Misty work. I dub the effect Misty's Spite.
There is a ladder meant for no ex, it’s community made with the private room code “NOEX”. It’s an honor system, but I have yet to run across an ex deck
Gamefreak needs to strike the right balances between catering to p2w's and f2p's, as well as rng and agency. We saw Hearthstone by Blizzard Entertainment, severely underpreform its projected sales due to leadership guiding the game towards a f2p and non-p2w game model, which contradicts itself as, developement won't receive enough resources then, to fully support the game's future. On top of that, Blizzard has already directed Hearthstone's gameplay loop to rely heavily on the "discover" mechanic that ruins the risk/reward/investment models game design has been based upon for decades, by introducing extremely wide ranged rng elements in players' victory conditions. I hope Gamefreak understands that they can't cator to everyone's whim, and creates and maintains a strong vision for their game. They must stay focused on making a great enjoyable game for their target audience, and not get sucked into too many rabit holes, by using as a foundation, a solid plan for longevity and constructive sustainability.
True, it is DeNa. You are right. Thank you for the correction. The point still stands, of course, but it would be good of me to name the correct company.
@theshadowking3198 there is also pokemon live, if you're looking for a more fleshed out pokemon tcg sim, or emulate the original gbc game or the modded version of it, pokemon neo If you wanna play with only older cards. Make sure to do the legacy version as that one is 1 for 1 with the original as version 1.4 is a bunch of balance changes to pokemon which are pretty good but it's way harder in my opinion.
I think people spend to much time on one game. Stop complaining about content and move on to something else while you wait. Thats literally how gaming works. There is enough content. New features after only 2 months is insane. Even for a big time dev team. To many unrealistic expectations.
As someone who’s spent $408 on the game and pretty much has all the cards and can make any deck, I find the game got boring/frustrating. We need less rng mechanics. There’s no benefit to going first except if you have red card. At least let first get one energy, but unable to attack, or let them be able to evolve 😂

I was here for it🎉🎉
1 v 1 me
Yay! I'm here when you're at 1.23k!
Two things that would make completing sets more easier:
1) Double the amount of pack points earned from 5 to 10. That's 600 points per month, 900 with the premium pass.
2) Extra star cards can be be exchanged for pack points at 50% their market value. Of course, players must own more than two copies of a star card in order to exchange it.
I've been saying that last one since I started playing and I wholly agree with that first one!
If only grammar and syntax was more easier
Trading is supposedly coming in January, which should hopefully make collecting easier, though it is going to depend on the exact rules implemented
Why would they make completing sets easier when they made 300 million dollars by now lmao. This is not socialism.
@@Not_An_EV Why would they make completing sets easier when they made 300 million dollars by now lmao. This is not socialism.
I just wish there was actually stuff to do in the game lol. The solo missions are a good start but it’s so limited and easy.
It’s a new game give it time it’s only been a month
I've been making mad binders more than playing the actual game
Agreed, after the limited rewards nobody ever goes back to them and they just sit there useless, and so the trophy for solo battles sits there not being completed. They should raise the exp for battles with people and then have the 15 for winning against solo, and have some sort of reward for the time investement of redoing solo battles. Perhaps you get a couple hourglasses for winning and like the venusaur event the hardest ones are guarunteed, and letting the multiple typings in expert just be a way for you to win against it at all since the limited cards making decks harder to build means you'd be limited on your types.
How about a double battle mode? Sounds like a fun idea to me
Like 2 players vs 2 players? Or are you saying 2 active pokemon at the same time.
@@sorinnoctis652 why not both

it was mid imo, though the reason it still exists is the pokemon ip
They give hourglass for free what are you talking about
@@arlikmaldonado1098 theyre talking about the pve/wonder pick events, which give minimal/no pack hourglasses
All that money and gamefreak still couldn't make a good modern mainline game.
They don't need to, people will still buy it no matter what
I legit think they're petrified of having to add textures and details to all the Pokemon. I battled with Hitmonchan the other day and was just looking at how simple (but good) the design is, but also thinking like if they upscaled that, the gloves for example would need to really look like boxing gloves right?
@@1bwashthat was the mistake of going so full 3D as they did. They should've refined a mix of 3D + 2D pixel spritework like BW+Octopath
A damaged primeape will 1 shot pikachu ex just as any pokemon that can poison will apply pressure to mewtwo before it can be powered up
Ig you just got bad luck? The players I fight are decent or meta slaves
need more pve content, gym badges and gym leaders
I'm considering that they're in the post-launch analysis phase and either brainstorming or programming more features after maybe 90 days in.
I'm wondering if they'll add an expanded, optional game mode to reflect the IRL game. 6pt matches, 30 or 60 card decks, so that more Pokémon can be used apart from the minimalist strategies due to 20 card limits.
@@DX47-h3z why do that, when they have ptcgLive?
I don’t think they’ll add a game mode like that it’s akin to yugioh speed duels much like duel links
Facts I’m f2p I been playing since day one soft launch and I’m only missing 2 total cards from these packs
I agree. Same here
Same. I have 2 of the 3 immersives, every card but like 6 exs, and over 50 star cards, and all I did was the premium free trial, which gave me 15 extra packs.
Good luck saying that as a new player when there is three sets already out.
@@ChooseYourStarter-c7x there is no p2w element ( no ladder that gives you resources- not some budge- the higher you go ). And obviously if someone starts later he will be behind in card pool, thats a no brainer.

It's fucking absurd. One ex is 50 packs and they give you 2 packs a day nothing more. Which is 25 days for s ex. It's worth less

It already has a meta
You just play a game designed by literal terrorists
Like even pokemon at it's worst is still way better than Yugioh could ever be by design
Yeah, one of the reasons because i dropped duel links was because it became more and more p2w. The other reason was because the meta became more and more oppressive, and it was no more fun to play pvp
@ I feel like this is the best time for new players to get into the game learn the basics before it ultimately becomes a p2w game so definitely 👍 agree with you on that
It's not that much of a pay to win since all you win is exp unless you're in an event against the cpu but those are easy enough to win against
Lmao?? It’s completely pay to win I’m not sure how you even come to that delusional conclusion.
I haven’t spent a cent and managed to do pretty well I easily cleared the event requiring 5 wins in a row.
@@YOSavageryLOgive me your logic on how it’s p2w. Whether you pay or not you pull from the same pool, you can make meta decks f2p most f2p will complete the basic dex and get mew.
@@Lusankya2 I’m not saying it’s p2w
@@Lusankya21000+ packs? Isn't it like 2 packs a day? That's like 740 packs a year no?
It would be cool to see an event where we have a wheel to spin to start the match choosing from rare, common and maybe even crown (at a lower chance) once spun your card is chosen and you and your opponent battle for it
They need to add a 2v2 feature eventually, people love playing these kinds of games with friends and love making strategies together.
ngl I expected a pretty lackluster video, yet the ideas you gave around 5:00 you should really talk about these and expand on them.
If only there was a cool modern Pokémon game for PC that was immersive and had all the Kanto Pokémon...will never happen 😞
Make PackPoints universal. And cards that can be exchanged won't phase out, since sets disappears on certain time.
I would love it if they will let us exchange digital cards for physical ones. After all, this game is about collecting cards
Let me junk them for crafting points and get cards I want
2: Pull rates feel terrible, feels like even regular holo rares only show up maybe once or twice a week, and I’ve only gotten a handful of EX cards. The pay to win statement is really leaning true here.
3: The game feels unbalanced, in other games there are advantages to going first or second, but in this, if you go first it feels like you’re at a huge disadvantage where the opponent gets to start energizing and attacking right away. Especially when basic EX cards like Mewtwo are good right now
Right now maybe it’s just because the card pool is so small, but the gameplay just doesn’t feel fun, it’s just get your EX energized and win.
Plus they need to add a battlepass system just like TCG Live where you booster packs + Cosmetics + currency.
There is a interview with the devs and they said that TCGP was made mainly as a card collecting game and not a cardboard battling game
It's not pay to win at all. Sure if you want a flashy EX deck straight away paying helps, but as a f2p player you can make very effective decks very easily until you open enough packs to make those flashy decks.
The pack point system needs a bit of fixing and the need to stop messing with the rare rates, I haven't seen an ex for the past two weeks straight.
Might even get me into the real cards which is definitely what nintendo wants😂
The digital card collection is quick and seamless to show others.
I got complete mewtwo ex deck in day 2 after 5 rerolls
I love the idea of new PvP game modes! I think that would help keep this game afloat in between set releases for sure! (Along with the mini sets, little events, new solo content)
TCG Pocket isn’t really Pay-To-Win though, sure paying gets you more cards but the RNG in this game dictates any match.
It can be done without paying though, paying just speeds it up!)
With only one permanent way to play PvP no casual players will want to play against a cesspool of lobbies filled with Meta decks 😂 the RNG in this game gives casual/new players a fair chance to compete (sometimes) against Meta decks
Do you not know about the poke gold system? You buy poke gold with real money and use it to open packs so you absolutely can buy packs
6:48 is is simply not true. You're ignoring the fact that this app gives away a looot of packs when you first start out.
The developers emphasized that PTCGP is a collecting game and less competitive.
I want a multi battle mode, 2 teams, 4 players
So, basically they need to get ahold of some Yu-Gi-Oh duel links strategies?
With more cards added i wish they added a mode live tcgive with 69 cards and 5 bench
I’d try to build a good electric and/or dark build for next update. Vaporeon and mew ex are going to wipe the floor with the current meta
I ended up with:
7 Venasaurs
1 Greninja
10 Haunters
12 Onix
10 Jigglypuff
I just wanted a 2nd Greninja because of how good the card is and I have yet to pack pull one.
If you want you can spend some pack points to craft a regular Greninja card. It’s the same card but with different art.
Making limited cards too.💪
The heck they call it "Trading Card Game" if they will just limit the trading to trash cards. 🤣
I want an official ranked game mode
Makes sense that Live looses money for there are no in app purchases in that game so there isnt reallly a way to earn money there.
Live makes ZERO revenue, regardless of how many people are playing.
I disagree that Nintendo need to add new features fast.
Because this game is nothing to do with Nintendo
Great video. I honestly don’t think they have to change much. My viewpoint is coming from a marvel snap player.
Just like in Gba pokemon tgc. I want story where you advanced via beating other npc.
I'll wait until they release the trade mode. If it's satisfactory I'll continue, if not I'll stop playing.
it's a great game. They need to add new game modes
The community is going to kill this game same as marvel snap wanting more game modes and cards then people wont be able to get cards they want.
An ELO system would fix most problems with pvp mode
It absolutely would NOT 😭 what we need are better rewards for battles in general
@@beltsanan Elo system would come with higher rewards with higher Elo, otherwise there would be no reason to climb the ladder
Pokemon TCG:
The
Coin
Game!
Bruh..... all im asking for is spectator mode
Yeah a no ex mode sounds great, other than ex Pokemons my only gripe are misty trainer cards.
We need more metal cards too
I'd agree if Misty was consistent, Moltres EX is better overall because it has fixed coin flips instead of a random chance you can steam roll that seems to only work when you don't need the energy.
You have a point but just so we point out to the right people, this is a DeNA game and not Gamefreak.
Gamefreak needs to start making good Pokemon games again. That’s all.
Won't happen they only care about money and addicted fanbase
True, it is DeNa. You are right. Thank you for the correction. The point still stands, of course, but it would be good of me to name the correct company.
The trading system will be released in January
We need ranked mode plz!
I honestly think the game is fine and people need to stop complaining
I just made a video on the emblem event and yeah it does feel lackluster as there are way too many combination of decks in the meta.
Wish they start giving us 10 hourglass a day sud be work for me f2p
We need trading!
not pay to win but pay to play as any other TCG
I hope they add an og TCG gamemode
Never would thats what the other app is for... sorry tho
@ other app?
I think pocket is the only active TCG game

@@opggez391 thanks 👍
@theshadowking3198 there is also pokemon live, if you're looking for a more fleshed out pokemon tcg sim, or emulate the original gbc game or the modded version of it, pokemon neo If you wanna play with only older cards. Make sure to do the legacy version as that one is 1 for 1 with the original as version 1.4 is a bunch of balance changes to pokemon which are pretty good but it's way harder in my opinion.
Nintendo and Gamefreak have nothing to do with pokémon pocket, it’s run by DeNA and Creatures
bring back theme deck battle.
They could even make unique attacks where "+40 damage if you're the first player" people would actually consider keeping some in a deck just in case if so
Use misty on a lapras and one shot your op's mon turn 1 for instant scoop.
i want no ex mode to be official.
I already got every card to unlock Mew F2P
