    I really enjoy your videos, very well done. When I was a kid several families would meet at Howard park and go out and we kids would dive for scallops with pillow cases and fill up a trash can while the parent drank beer. Once we filled up the trash can we’d head back to Howard park and roast the scallops, the kids stuck with hot dogs and Check cola

      Good times! My family used to do that with oysters, although I've never liked them.

    Heading that way in a couple weeks. It’s good to know that the storm won’t effect our scallop trip

    Scalloping is something I will learn how, and make myself the opportunity to do. Not sure how yet, but I’ll make happen. Looks like you had a great experience.

      I need to find somewhere without the boat traffic so I can take my little boat. It was a lot of fun. You can take charters out to scallop. There's plenty of pontoon boats with hoards of people.

    Nice, I scalloped off one of my Gheenoe's some time back out of Weeki Wachee. Looked like you were in shallow water. We had to dive down like 9 feet for them scallops.

    • @OverlandFlorida
      @OverlandFlorida  3 года назад +1

      9 feet would suck. This was 3-4ft. There were so many of them. I'm going to take my little boat back out here after the hurricane.

    Un fortunately the scallops have been over harvested and are not as plentiful as they use to be, but it is a fun thing to do.

      @@OverlandFlorida Good deal. My son lives in Ocala. I just spoke to him and he was shocked at how little wind and rain there has been so far (we live in Alabama so this is his first experience lol). Take care my friend.

    I don't even bother with the snorkel. I just walk around and pick them up with my toes.
