Gem’s spot with Asian touch macarons is the best! So unique and full of flavor! They serve tea and coffee too! Perfect spot in the heart of Paris!
Can confirm, the Gem Pastries near the opera (about a 5 min walk) are fantastic with a nice twist.
Briefly spoke with the lady who runs the shop and since this video she's focused completely on Macarons, the demand has been high!
If you don't know where to find it, you're unlikely to stumble upon it though, but Google maps or equivalent will lead you straight to it.
So glad to know that a Philippine patisserie is flourishing in Paris! I really enjoyed this awesome video 👌🏻

When I lived in France, I only saw macarons when a guest brought a fancy box of them as a gift at a dinner party. It was an appreciated gift and being a gift, it was totally appropriate that the packaging would be nice.

Hello today, so happy with today’s video. On our visit to Paris, we tried macaroons as part of our picnic lunch at Effie Tower. I don’t remember the bakery but I chose a rose flavour macaron and it was heavenly. Perfectly to my taste and it was So fresh. Just a wonderful memory. Can’t wait to enjoy fresh macarons once more when we return.☺️🇨🇦

We just returned from Paris and we found your videos so helpful! I visited Pralis 3 times in 6 days 🤫 I found the women extremely pleasant, you must have caught her on a bad day. I returned to buy gifts for friends and she gave me a cute bag of chocolates. We LOVED Paris and plan to download the information you’ve put together before our next trip. 😊

I think the address of Gem Patisserie on the screen may not be correct? You mention Opera but screen shows Trocadero. Google map shows 1 Rue de Mariveaux.
Oh I love macarons and thanks for giving us a tour on all these macaron places. I definitely would want to visit Roy Chocolatier for the sample chocolates! And Gem for the exotic flavors. Have you also tried Le Jardin Sucré in the 17th arrondissement? I really liked their rich flavors. I wonder where it will rank in your list.

Try the Ube Macaroon from Gem Patisserie. Ube is purple yam native to Philippines. It's good :)

I went to “Pierre Herme” in St Germain…. Had woooonderful pistachio desert…. It was sooo good!
The best macaron I've had in Paris is Angelina's raspberry macaron. It was absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend trying it, along with their Mont Blanc.
Fortunate yous! I'm partial to Laduree simply for the packaging, and the muraled tea room on Bonaparte.

Bonjour les Frenchies. I simply adore you station and the two of you. Would you consider doing a review of Paris “hardware stores” ? I find les Drogueries very interesting where you can buy all sorts of things at great prices. Comes in handy should one tun out or need a neat gift One of my favorites is on Rue Mufftard called Droguerie Bricolage Very friendly with everything you might need during your visit. Merci…Josef.

It’s amazing how such a question could garner a comment and a question but you two are very good with your videos. Thank you for asking the question and taking the time to film and discuss who you think HAS the best macaron in Paris. The more unusual flavors sounded fantastic! I am glad you tried some of them. My question relates to Richart and I was impressed with the look of the store. Do they sell much OTHER THAN macarons? If they sell only macarons, was there redundancy on each display? It looked wonderful but it was very large for just macarons. They get two SOLID thumbs up from me, regardless of their win. They looked very nice in the display!

The best Macaron that I have ever tasted is Matcha at the Susuya Patisserie in Las Vegas., NV And best gelato is dark chocolate 70% plus or Matcha at Baccio di Latte in Newport Beach, CA. I will make sure to try out your top 3 next time when I am in Paris. I find Laduree to be overrrated, the only good part is their locations’ signature decor. Thank you both again for such detailed and personable reviews. ❤️

We really like the macarons at Jean-Paul Hevin - Marais, next door to the Marche des Enfants Rouges. Extremely friendly and excellent quality.

I got a room at Hotel Odeone (your suggestion) and 3 of these places (Laduree, Richart and Pierre Herme) are by the hotel next to Saint-Sulspice so I will wander on over to Rue Bonaparte and gain a few pounds

We were staying in the Opera area and heading to Disneyland from there. I got almost all of mine at Lauduree, starting in London, going on to Paris and then at Versailles. I got some at Harrods and they were HORRIBLE!!!!! Do NOT waste your pounds there.
So they are SOOOOOO sweet, and I have to say I have not missed them. I really had my fill. LOL If you have not ever had one, do yourself a favor, be sure to get some when in France. Like anything else, somes better than others but don't miss them.

@@LesFrenchiesTravel Macarons does not need preservatives as they freeze very well an even they become better after freezing, I learnt it from a Pierre Hermé atelier.

Based on this video I tried Richard. I took a box of 9 macarons to a friend’s for dessert. I took three Richard out of the gift box and replaced those with Pierre Hermès macaron.. Doing a blind taste test..Pierre Hermès macaron won hands down..the quality Is so much higher. That was my opinion and friend’s opinion. Also when buying both I found the flavours more interesting at Pierre Hermès. We all have different tastes and I prefer less sweet which Hermès are and bursting with flavour. I have not tried the Gem or other top ones on your list yet.
Can we pack the Macaron for friends and family back home?
We bought a six pack at Laduree and we were almost underwhelmed! Our (then) local patisserie at Alesia seemed to be nicer ones. We have a local patissier here in Adelaide who has awards from France for his work, and his macarons are really good. Don't have to travel to Paris to get good ones, but I think it helps to at least try!🤣

From an old French man: this kind of macaron sandwich was virtually unknown 30 years ago. It seems to me that it was and still is mostly a French stereotype for tourists that French people regularly eat macarons!

I had a bad experience at Ladurée......the macaron “ salty caramel” tasted like it was burned( the caramel was over done).....when a told the serveur....oh boy the scene.......
