The improved seven-seat Ford Grand Tourneo Connect is a rugged but cleverly-engineered people mover that's sourced from commercial vehicle roots but offers enough sophistication to suit the needs of many growing families. It's especially frugal when equipped with the brand's latest efficient 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel engines. When used as a five-seater, you get a huge amount of useful luggage space.

As a mum of 3 I am driving the 7 seater with automatic gear and I am delighted. Also have some space for grandparents when visiting us🤞🥰😂. Great car. Greetings from Slovenia.

Жаль, только на среднем ряду сидений не регулируется наклон спинки в обычных комплектациях

Loved the eloquence of this review(er) - and indeed, the points made and views shown were enough to set me off to my nearest Ford dealer. Long story short, after test-driving this one (Grand Tourneo) with a 120 HP diesel in the full-featured Titanium model, followed for some heavy flirting with a Toyota Proace City Verso (similar to Open Combo, Peugeot Rifter, etc.) in the longer L2 version, I came back to - and just purchased - the Ford. Thanks for putting me onto this great car! It handles very well, is quiet enough (quieter than the Toyota and its nearly identical brethren) and as an EU reimport here in Germany it only costs about €26.600 with all the extras. In your review, you implied everybody interesting in the extra length provided by the Grand would want the 3rd row of seats. Not so for me/us. With twins on the way and a desire to be able to stow a large buggy and travel luggage, the 7-seater wouldn‘t work for us. Folding it down still leaves you with quite a huge bump in the floor, making it hard to shove in large boxes (things like a washer or dryer, for instance) without them being perched in a dangerous way. The same bump in the floor is there when you also fold the 2nd row of seats down, thus the total length of the trunk is not one, single plane. There‘s the lower portion towards the rear, and then the bump up. Of course you can also remove the 3rd row of seats and stow them in the garage, but doing so means you are left with some spaces to plug up or cover up on the floor (maybe with a plastic tub floor or large carpet), and - more annoyingly - the seatbelt alarm light will then constantly be on up front...that is, unless you get a dealer to install a third-party thing to shut the warning light off. So we searched for and eventually found a 5-seater, to be picked up at the end of Feb., 2021. Will be happy to respond to any queries on our satisfaction with it. EDIT in mid-April 2021: Very happily driving our new Ford! Love it, and am truly thankful to the reviewer here for introducing this model to me.

Thanks for the great added information. I'm looking at this vehicle too to be able to use it as a camper van with bed in the booth once all the chairs are removed. I'd love to see a picture of how it looks when all chairs are out. Can you tell me how long the length is from the rear of the driver seat to the end of the booth?

@@BrechtGijbels I'm also looking into this car to use it as a camper van. But then with a module I can temporarily put in the trunk and which folds out into a bed, with a kitchen that can be drawn out, etc. There are several brands that offer such modules, so I'm still deciding on which to choose. I would love to have a full van conversion, but I don't want to completely sacrifice the passenger row :(
You might already now this, but there's a camper salon coming up, in Düsseldorf, end of August/beginning of September. Seems like a good place to get some inspiration :)

Hello man , hope and wish your family is fine ...
Have you have any problems opening the large backdoor at the city routine ? for example when you park in tight space..
And can an adult sit back between two isofix children's seats ?

When the third row seats are removed the seat belt malfunction warning occurs (perhaps only on some markets' models) so beware. However, it's possible to 3d print a set of bungs for the holes left by the seat mounts to leave a flat floor.

Thank you Car& Driving channel ! You know, been looking at; thing is here in 'the States' the Tourneo is not offered.( as far as I've looked into.so far). That ,we don't like; as find t he styling& size nicer than the 'Connect Passenger Van'. Don't believe we can even get that preferred diesel engine, oy vey! If I were somewhere the shorter wheelbase Tourneo sold- would pursue it; would meet our needs; & my favourite model. All the best, M

    Poor engines for European market.

no, the engine is perfectly fititng. The empty car is quite light. Low consumption, clearly a very good point.

In what sense „poor“? I picked up my new Grand Tourneo Connect at the end of February and absolutely love it. Got the biggest diesel motor as an automatic. It shifts amazingly well, is sufficiently quiet even at rather high speeds (OK, a bit of wind noise from the van shape, but the motor isn‘t loud) and accelerates quite enough for me to pass as needed. Compared with competing vans (Peugeot, Opel, Toyota), I find the Ford has the best trimmings and the best overall package. So I‘m curious why you think the engines are not so appropriate for the European market. I live in Germany. Naturally, many people are getting interested in eVehicles here, but I certainly would never buy one. So what‘s wrong with the engines in your opinion?
