  • BUY, LEASE OR FINANCE A FORD TORNEO CONNECT FROM OSV - bit.ly/3qGYwh1
Most of us have squeezed children or pets into a car before, but Ford's rejuvenated Tourneo Connect compact MPV can comfortably take much more. From kite-surfing equipment to the school run, this is a car that aims to help families get a little more out of life. And in creating it, the Blue Oval brand has received more than a little help from Volkswagen.
The Blue Oval brand has long ploughed its own furrow when it comes to its commercial vehicle range, but that's changed with a more recent partnership with Volkswagen that will see all future Blue Oval brand van models paired with their VW counterparts. Which means that the third generation Ford Transit Connect has been designed to share all its engineering with the current fifth generation Volkswagen Caddy. Which in turn also means that the People Carrier version of that Ford, this Tourneo Connect model, had to be a Blue Oval brand version of the MPV model that VW markets to family passenger car customers as the Caddy - or Caddy Life.
If you followed all of that, it'll explain why the Ford Tourneo Connect model line we examine here looks so similar to its Wolfsburg competitor, especially in profile - and beneath the bonnet.
    Let's take a look.

the lack of switches and buttons is a deal breaker for me. shame because other than that i would have got one. do you know if Ford has sorted the powershift problems? i had a Bmax which went back 5 times and was never right.

" Engine undershield protection " wouldn't that be applicable for all English roads given the state of them. Doesn't that low front end rub on the UK's bigger road humps, until the front wheels start to lift it by meeting the hump themselves ?

Hello there 👋 This could be due to a blown fuse, faulty switch or a wiring issue. We recommend getting a professional mechanic diagnosis to fix the issue.

Oh dear. As a disabled driver I was quite taken with the Transit Connect Wagon L2 as I'd seen a few spec'd out for disabled customers. It was the Goldilocks size for me, just about right. It was low enough like a saloon car, for me to raise my left leg to get in the vehicle. The Touneo Grand Connect looks too long, the Tourneo Connect a bit too short and the door looks higher off the ground to get into. My boot scooter is much larger than average hence my interest in a long wheel base. To my eyes the styling on the replacement is pretty hideous, not impressed with the front grille at all. I'm sure the transit connect had 8 auto gears and now the Tourneo has lost one? Transit Connect Wagon I'm interested, Tourneo Connect Volkswagen...meh. Never mind, back to the drawing board.

The Caddy has the problem that it can only be serviced by VW commerce dealers and they are not that plentiful hopefully the Ford can go to any Ford dealer

I had a VW transporter and that didn't have to be serviced at a VW dealer let alone a commercial one...I used to take it to a Seat dealer as they were better than the VW dealer.. the only time I had an issue is when there was a warranty claim for a seat cover that split the VW car dealer ( as I was still using them at the time) said it had to be done by VW commercial...when I went to VW commercial they sorted it but said that the car dealer was having my pants down as they could have done it..but for the last 4 years I had it all the servicing was done by a seat dealer..and the transporter is deffo classed as a commercial veh.
