I own a 2010 caddy. First mods I did were A1 S line seats (bolt straight in) Sound deadened and carpet lined the whole van. Made a massive difference, I can now take a phone call and hear it. Fitted a pioneer head unit with reverse camera and upgraded speakers. Yes I love the caddy. I have to agree with your review ,VW need to up there game with basic sound proofing and better trim. You pay enough for them. Thanks for the review
Connect for sure, had a caddy and was in garage more than on the road owned it for 19months and replaced the injectors 9 times at £500 a time. Caddy 70 miles to £10. Connect 110 miles to £10
@@skmotorcycles8123 1.6 tdi caddy 1.5 diesel connect. No competition for reliability, fuel consumption and engine noise And connect has more power and torque
Aye had a caddy 1.9tdi bls engine two engines in two years spent more money on it then the van was worth bls vw caddy engines r like chocolate pure shite
Got a 21 plate connect ,great all round van, drives great and averages 52.3 mpg,the split passenger seat is a game changer you can fit 3m pipes etc in. Mine also has heated windscreen seat and steering wheel, not really found any faults or disappointing features in20k driving, would highly recommend, better than my old nissan nv 200 And that is hard to beat.
Tried out both but the long versions, it wasn’t really a competition. I bought the Ford but agree that the menus are confusing but love the blue color of instruments and stuff.
Perfect vid exactly what ive been wondering myself - totally prefer the caddy image, but happy to prioritise quieter more car like drive! And cheaper...hunt is on! Thanks
Looking to part ex my mk5 gti for a caddy. As it's replacing a GTI I really want to go for the highline personally. It will be for both work and pleasure
reliability should be first and only concern once you have that, and you know you have that, Then you can worry about that other stuff, like trim and what not
Fiat bought Chrysler, they brought the Fiat Doblo mini cargo van to the USA, they discontinued the RAM C/V cargo van, I own a RAM C/V its has 144.4 cubic feet of storage, 283 hp V6, 6 speed transmission, 1800 lbs load, 3600 lb towing, deadlock/alarm to keep your cargo safe, creature comforts, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, dual a/c heat, power windows/mirrors, heated mirrors, comfrotable cloth seats, lots of storage in the front, good sound system, optional storage compartments in the rear floor, and a great looking vehical too. There is nothing to campare it to the RAM C/V, these vans are lasting people over 400,000 miles..
Engine on my mark 4 caddy went on 50000 would not buy caddy ever again had citreon berlingo sold it still running lovely to my mechanic with nearly 400000 (four hundred thousand miles it is now a micro camper and still going strong 2 years later
Caddy all day 🤪 had a driving job a few years ago...I did 10,000 miles in 9 weeks in a caddy with no issues. Mate of mine had a connect for same job and it broke down 4 times in 10,000 miles
I've owned a mk4 Caddy Black Edition and got a Transit Connect for work. Connect is better designed and a better drive... but it's a Ford so will never be as cool as a Caddy. Dunno why the stopped making the Sportline Caddy after the mk2?
I haven’t got a clue about vans or cars, but I’m currently looking at a Vauxhall combo and a ford connect on two garage websites. Both 2015, both 100k ish miles, both have service history. Combo is £5k and the ford is £10.5k. I do think the ford looks sportier and nicer but is there any actual reasonable reason for this price difference?
Are you seriously comparing a Combo to a Transit? Is that even a competition? You're talking about a glorified Fiat Dobló and man most importantly it's so ugly it hurts my eyes.
Yes but what engine are you comparing is the ford with a diesel and the caddy with the same most transit customs have blocked DPF IN 3 MONTHS FROM NEW I WOULD BUY ONE ANY MONEY CHEERS BRIAN
"How many motorbikes will fit in the back of it" - my man, i can fit two full size motorcycles in my Transit Connects, old shape (without bulkhead) and new shape both lwb
It’s the exact opposite actually. I’ve owned many Fords over the years, and had very few issues. Vw is probably one of the worst brands now reliability wise. They are expensive to fix, they have a ridiculous number of sensors, and cost the consumer a lot of money to keep running every year. My Ford Transit Connect XLT drives like sports car, and is very reliable, and the lwb has good cargo space. I have several friends in my business that have these with well over 250k miles on them. The earlier years 1st gen have a few more issues but not bad…
If warning lights coming on the dashboard constantly were an Olympic sport, the Volkswagen Caddy would take the gold medal, I'm glad I sold mine.
😂

Looking at these two at the moment, great video 👍
Yes if you buy a CADDY YOU CAN HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLD TOURAN SEATS AND THE REAR SEATS WITH FIT THE CADDY ! Cheers BRIAN
Love my 2007 (pre DPF) Caddy 1.9 TDI. She sounds like a mini truck

Pretty much all new vans are as equally reliable, change my mind.
oooh, interesting vid, but which is the most reliable and trouble free of the ford and VW?
Thank you, really interesting and helpful review.
Got to be a caddy!! They just seem to take everyday hassle far better than anything else on the market!!

What can both of these vans tow what’s the difference in towing weight between them ???

I got a caddy with a second seat row. This is right from the factory and not changed. So you can buy a caddy with back seats.
Halo is the best ever aftermarket unit!
looking at a 2016 mk4 2.0 diesel do you know what to look out for on one of these please mate?

What age connect and caddy were they?
Is it the old connect or the one with 1.6/1.5 diesel engine....?

The Connect have a so much better steering feeling one of the better electric powersteering systems.
engine quality ford vs vw? Eco Boost maybe more trick vs new TSI engines
From which year does the connect have the three seats? Or is it a certain line or spec?
The cheapest Connect have unpainted bumpers and only 2 seats

Yes I am mate. And You haven’t really answered my question - so it’s 5k more expensive for a bit of plastic sport trim ?
Yes but what engine are you comparing is the ford with a diesel and the caddy with the same most transit customs have blocked DPF IN 3 MONTHS FROM NEW I WOULD BUY ONE ANY MONEY CHEERS BRIAN
I like vw’s but the modern ones aren’t reliable like they use to be, also vw vans are soo overpriced, you get basic stuff compared to other brands
MPG.?
"How many motorbikes will fit in the back of it" - my man, i can fit two full size motorcycles in my Transit Connects, old shape (without bulkhead) and new shape both lwb
So, it will take two bikes, presumably both on their side stands? Thanks for that info buddy. Regards.
@@johnpirie3800 yeah, it's quite tight as the roof isn't that high in the Mk2, but certainly do-able
@@WH05DAT Yeh, I bet its tight. I take it with certain bikes, you might need to remove the mirrors. Cheers buddy.
Do a skid
In us we don't got this
Connect…just a better drive. Vw over rated like their cars.
Caddy 100x better
Caddy really looks like regular Golf- nothing special on it- boring and not that reliable at all as people talk
Caddy will drive better over time ford go down hill after 80'000 miles
