    Leave the tree, it’s useful to the goats, and bees, and it’s beautiful. Jack is awesome, so now you can grow a big pumpkin. I am praying for everyone to be safe as these storms come in. God bless. Chestene,love ya

    Hopefully, even if you've been receiving tornado warnings for a few days, you don't have to use your safety equipment and the bunker. Your little Kayla is such a sweetheart, she always tries to help her father and do everything well. She's progressing so quickly, you can really be proud of your little girl☘️💫☘️

    The tree is a gift from God. Please don't destroy it because it looks different. If you think about it nothing in nature looks alike. That is the way God intended it to look. Love and prayers headed your way 💞

    you should build a couple of bunks and keep sleeping bags and pillows and blankets in a sip lock bag. incase you have to spend the night. the kids will want to sleep. and I woild find away to hook up a shower curtain under the stairs to have alittle privacy when using the bathroom.

    Don't forget dog food and extra water for them too if you're going to bring any of them in with you. I haven't read the comments to see if anyone else has mentioned that or not. It's something that often gets overlooked.

  • @peanutsassyathena
    @peanutsassyathena 3 года назад +33

    You may want to put a small bag of dog food in a gamma lid bucket in the cellar with a water and food bowl (empty butter containers would work fine and it's free). Dogs get scared with storms and it could help to calm them down.

    • @paulatwood998
      @paulatwood998 3 года назад +1

      Yeah... but but where's the dog going to go potty? I don't think you would want him in there doing his business with all those people in there.

    • @peanutsassyathena
      @peanutsassyathena 3 года назад +8

      @@paulatwood998 Actually, it's easy to manage. Put a small plastic bag over a dust pan, use a disposable spoon to help scoop up the waste, then take the edge of the bag and pull it over the waste and tie off with the spoon inside. Place the used bag in the portable potty and cover with wood chips. For the pee, use paper towel to absorb, then rinse down the area with soap and water, put the used paper towels in the portable potty and cover with wood chips. Unless your underground for hours and hours you probably won't have to deal with it at all. Most of the time the storm passes quickly enough nobody will have to worry about going to the bathroom, but on the lesser chance of being below ground for an extended time there needs to be a workable plan in place. I'd be more concerned with providing needed care than having to bag a little poo. I view my pets as family members and I am dedicated to care for them as I would any family member.

      @@peanutsassyathena There are pee pads. And a nice cardboard tray would work for poo. You can get some at the grocery store, usually from cases of cans. Lined with a garbage bag and some wood chips or litter.

    I’m thinking maybe these bunkers should be a double or triple size, ( because farm families have several family members to protect )with fresh air circulation, light, moisture and heat controls,( Charcoal filters ) ,food and water storage stacked,dated,and rotated as needed..., possibly an underground tunnel from the basement of a home to the bunker with a second safety “...escape door “...hopefully you don’t have to stay there for a long time, but in these days you never know what situations may arise...”Be Prepared “

    I've seen people put some wide flat boards about a foot long and a hydraulic jack in the storm cellar that way you can lift the opening up from the inside if heavy debri is on the top of the entrance door. Get a jack rated to lift a vehicle or large tree. Place the boards under the jack and the top of the jack (making contact with the door) to apply stabilization and pressure distribution.

    also look into camping stuff such as dry bags - there to help keep clothing or other items dry when the out side of the bag is under water or getting rained on. you can get large bags to put sleeping bags into them. look into folding chairs this will help give you space to store in the cellar .
    keep snack bin - which is kept inside a back pack - in the house / so if you hear the alarm then you can grab and go .
