Oh Ms Renee! Getting into sourdough for the first time and I went with your recipe, it's how I've become a subscriber...you're a delight! I hear that it takes newbies a few tries getting it right but it went together flawlessly. So, first batch...I busted out the ingredients that I had written down and played the video just to make sure. "Let it rise for 12 hours" I said, "12 HOURS?!!" Nuts. So I put it in the oven with the light on and went shopping. 3 hours later...no joke...the dough had risen so much it was gooo all over the place! I was laughing and pulling dough and giggling and cracking up and cleaning up! So let me tell you, that's some powerful stuff right there. Happy New Year from a new subscriber in the high desert of Arizona!

Yay! I think I’ve finally found the starter I’ve been looking for & the resulting bread recipe! This all seems like what I used to make years ago. Thank you so much!

What temperature do you bake the bread?!

  • @debbievinsant4610

Do you make it straight out of fridge or do you let your starter sit to room temperature first then take it out to make bread

      350 for 40 min

      I bake mine at 350° F for 25 - 30 min.
You can also make a cinnamon swirl version. Press flat and lay softened butter across the top. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up and slap into the pan to rise for 8 hours. Bake and enjoy with coffee. Num!!!
Icing is powdered sugar 4 T a few drops of orange juice.

What do you do with remaining starter?

I have just always been told and practice that you should not let the bread have any contact with metal. Has that been an issue for you?
