well I have a vega 64 and its fine. the stock cooler isnt terrible but if you want the best get a morpheous 2 and some decent fans. and undervolt/overclock improves the cards temps a lot
I vividly remember having ATI x1950 XTX. I bought it along with my new monitor 1650x1050, it was my very first widescreen monitor. I ran my favorite game Hitman Blood Money and I was shocked about the graphics quality lol.
Still own the amd 480! great card and the updates have made it better going from stock to now has probably has given me around a 10 to 12 fps boost in a good amount of games ... cant wait for amd at ces this year ;)
My first ati gpu was the ati radeon 9550 (256mb) next was ati x1950 gt (256mb). For a while i used team green cards. Then bought the sapphire toxic r9 280x. Good times with those cards. Many games were enjoyed. And RUBi best girl :)
I've always preferred Ati/Amd cards than Nvidia since 2003 when I bought a radeon 9100 sapphire (Sapphire was a famous name from UT2003 character) the colors are better and also very good for the retrocompatibility in now days. Also Android phones include Amd video drivers. My settings are AF 16x and AA 4x, refresh screen always activated.

I always preferred ATI/AMD over Nvidia just because (especially back in the late '90's/early 2000's) it was a better bang for the buck. The good thing about getting older (and thus having much more disposable income), I don't need to be a "fan boy" of any product. I can just go with what ever is the best hardware at the time. :)
If I remember correctly the ones I have owned were Rage, 7200, 9200, 9800, x800 gto and x1950 gt. Quite nostalgic... how the hell did we survive with graphics cards that had only 64 or 32MB of ram? :D First graphic card I bought myself was x800 GTO and I think it was the one which you were able to turn into GT by installing GT's firmware and that way you were able to get a little bit more power out of that graphic card.

In 1:54 there is an mistake in description. Radeon 8500 has 2 TMU per each pixel pipeline. Thus it has *8* TMU's overall, not *4* as written. That is why it was so powerful in its day. *UPD* 9700, 9800 wrong described too... I'll check no more shamed descriptions in that video, ok

My Radeon ATI Mobility HD 3470 seems slower than the desktop version. But then I notice 3rd party manufacturers like Sapphire add twice as much vram to their desktop cards.
I also notice the GPUs come in two variants. Like the R600 series versus the RV600 series. Assassin's Creed or Darksiders, or StarCraft II is unplayable.

The first demo looks a lot like the Canadian kids TV show called Reboot from the late '90s.
Some of the tech demos in this video are not matched to their appropriate card, they're showing a generation or two ahead.
Is this why the framerate seems so poor almost all of the time? There were a few exceptions but this showcase didn't really impress me that much :D
