My period is very manageable and tolerable pain wise. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s not excruciating like many other women and girls and I am thankful for that. I cannot imagine what others go through with excruciating cramps to the point where you can’t move, concentrate or even have to go to the hospital. Or even endometriosis. We should honestly get days off specifically for period pains. Your period is no one’s business, especially your male co workers’. They have no idea what it is and it pisses me off when they call it being “over dramatic”. Screw you.
I kinda have a hack. If you wear night time pads to school, you might only need to change it less or not at all till you get home!- I’m going to try when I get it again. Hope it helps!❤

I literally said to my BF that guys get it worse when it comes to expectations of how they should express their emotions and girls get it worse physically and he completely agreed. We can use a TENs period simulator on men but how are we to understand what's expected of them and their emotional expression in society? As long as we recognise and support each other on both, society can only get better😊
Women are penalized for showing emotion. We are allowed to show them but it's also why we are considered weak and lesser than so idk if I totally agree

It wasn't completely uncommon for me at the time for me to feel sick and awful back-to-back school dates with little sleep. The pain only increased as I went through my first period in science class and it felt like the longest class in existence, then I had PE and it was the one day that we had to do a lot of stretches for most of the class. I figured we'd have a snack break right after, and I feel a little better getting something on my stomach. It only made it worse. From that time on I constantly heard people laughing and pointing and I thought that was kind of strange and made me self-conscious. Maybe something in my appearance was off. What I didn't realize is to the stretching it had made my cramps open the floodgates, And people either thought I had sat and paint, or thought it was funny that I had no idea. I looked pale suddenly from the blood loss, humility, fear, i could not tell you which, and so he said yes. I stumbled up the stairs in severe pain and when I finally made it up to the nurses office on the main floor she looked up and gasped at my appearance like i had just seen a ghost. All I said in my pain was "how bad is it?" And slowly turned around and she shriked and ran across the room to go into full lovkdown and told me I was going home immediately. I started crying because I was so humiliated and angry no one told me. I think she thought I had been sta*ed since blood was seeping even to the front of my pants from the back and my bloodied hand clutched my abdomen staining my shirt. She gave me donated clothes to change into which I bled through, the mentioned towles and a heating pad to wait. It was so bad a level five pad would be bled through in 20 minutes. Now that I am older and have less serious periods, (Im on it again now as we speak,) I still get bad cramps even reaching pain in my legs and back. But my bleeding has not been bad by comparison at all! Its still heavy to the pad levels but managable. I never went to the hospital, but i had to miss the rest of the school week. When I first tried to explain i was looked down on from my teachers and classmates because they thought I was overdramatic and wanted to cut school so they gave me extra work for two weeks when I got back. In reality I got four hours of sleep a night that week and two hours to eat down stairs time total to eat. The rest of that time I almost never left the toilet. I couldn't afford to. But ah yes, ditching school even though I still never have.
