    Needs more upvotes. Thank you Allan for everything you have done for the free speech and the pirate community. You have always been an inspiration. Trying to get friends into broadcast is not easy but with the spirit you have it certainly makes it easier to show others it's possible!

    I have been a huge fan of radio (both programming and the magic of the medium) since I was a kid in the 60s. I have loved shortwave since the 80s 👍🏼.

    Oh man how I'd love to have a show on that giant! But the exposed transmission lines wouldn't want to be around those especially during thunderstorms. I've experienced a lot with covered transmission lines! I'd like to do a show playing all kinds of music David's Dusty discs show and or on UFO's.. my experiences, others experiences, being on ships all the stories! Can I do ads to make money to pay for everything? Maybe do a two to 4 hour show. Maybe an overnight slot. I know Art Bell beat me total but haste idea way before he did it. Charlie Douglas was on at number that WWL in70's 50,000 watts at night overnight for the professional trucker. What a great audience and idea and made money to pay the power bill lol:) also when in El Paso in 1979 across the border at XEROX 80 was 50,000 watts during the day and 150,000 watts at night clear channel. I think Canada had CKLW on 80 they would fight when you were far enough away. Oh those were the days. My days. Today I have a 25 watt community station non profit lol:) why not go online make money? If I had a place the room and could make the monthly payments... I would. But my daughter's house... no room. One day maybe. Hope soon because I getting old. Radio days over I guess.. but really enjoyed this video! What's great station, bet it costs lot to power that baby! Probably hear it in the next galaxy! Cool!

    I believe WRNO Worldwide had (or possibly has?) An AM/FM/SW trio.
    The original WRNO was (is?) a popular FM broadcaster. The shortwave station came later.
    I saw WRNO on a tour in 1985. At that time, they also owned a Spanish formatted daytimer.

      And what's different with the standard bearers? Ooh that's right, A/NBC/ C/PBS will NEVER allow a counter point.

    • @Putaspellonyou
      @Putaspellonyou 4 года назад +3

      @@roostertn um, they do. But more to the point, counterpoint is not letting any batshit crazy lunatic with an inferiority complex have an open stage and be taken seriously. Sometimes there are not two sides to every story, sometimes there are nine. And sometimes there is no story at all. Holocaust deniers don't get to demand equal time and consideration as they have nothing to offer humanity. People who spout on about racist shit, invented stats, and made up pedophile rings in pizza parlors should understand that the first amendment gives you the right to speak, not to be taken seriously. Giving equal time to diverse voices is crucial. Giving equal value to ALL voices, no matter what they say, is a perfect way to destroy a democracy.

    Well done report on WBCQ and great video of the new antenna system for the new station. Interesting about the new 500,000 watt WBCQ shortwave station that appears to be funded by World’s Last Chance, LLC, a Wyoming corporation and ministry headed by Galal P. Doss, a former Seventh-Day Adventist and cosmetics company owner from Egypt, with a track record of making bizarre prophecies, and claiming the earth is flat. Doss will be broadcasting exclusively on the new 500K shortwave 24/7 promoting his flat earth and religious beliefs most likely later in 2019 or 2020. Although Doss is presumably paying for the new transmitter and antenna with a million dollar plus investment and paying for the broadcast time, Alan Weiner and his sister remain the owners of WBCQ and it's FCC shortwave broadcast license from the FCC.

    I like WBCQ, but Alan and Angela's weekly "Praise God and fuck the constitution" program drives away non-religious listeners. Just saying.
