2:07:39 This right here is a clever way of explaining why John can't run in the game because of the injury to his right knee as a kid, inhibiting his mobility skills a bit
Nice detail, thnx
i really love the fact that the cross turns from gold to silver and then to copper, showing how his faith is dwindling down
how does he loose faith when the cross is his only weapon againts the demons? im not very familiar with religion so its cool to know that
But to see divine intervention, finally. For god to answer him when he is nearly broken was a nice touch. And protecting him in the last fight. I know he’ll be saved from some hits…I wonder how many.
@@TristanXei Maybe he is losing his sanity, thus losing the ability to think logicaly and slowly forgeting the God he believed.
Maybe it is related with Original sin and why the idea about limbo was born, I'm not sure.
@@TristanXei The best I can put it is - fatigue and burnout.
Think of it like a writer or artist. They have a passion to create beautiful works. But if they take on a task too great to handle or lose sight of why they even started, that passion fizzles out. The artist fatigues and burns out.
@@shelbyherring92 Oh so he would've been resenting God
i think tiffany's boss fight is the most terrifying. she did all that willingly, likely by herself, just to prove herself worthy. even when gary forgot about her, she stayed, determined to finish what they started together. she is, in every sense of the word, completely fucking nuts. plus her boss music slaps.
Her boss music goes hard as hell.
What exactly did she do to herself?
@@sbraypaynt carve a hole in her face and put newborns through the hole to make a portal to hell, that's why there's a demon coming from what used to be her head
@@sbraypaynt performed the second death ritual- essentially, what happened to amy, but entirely self-inflicted. and actually successful, hence reaching THE BEYOND, her head exploding to make way for the demon, etc
@@sbraypaynt Amy face got craved with knife while Tiffany did everything to herself
Gary still holds his “terrible landlord” title. Good to know.
Yeah for instance the apartment has light problems, its structure is falling apart, has several leaks in the basement and of course its haunted and a portal to hell. Why do they even pay expenses for!!!!
@@sahidyubero8325 they must be college students.
@@DominikaHare hahahahaha🤣 true 👍
7:11 gaster undertale real?
He also don't pay the rent after getting the money, truly awful
In ending 2, after John exorcises Amy at last, the cross he has is gold again, in the cutscene. Really puts more meaning behind Garcia saying John has gotten stronger.
I didn't notice that at first
The fact that it is possible to get creamed by a car 5 minutes into the game is hysterical
Hear "mortis" speedrun
it's probably the least painful death in the entire series, all the others involve a rather drawn out sequence before you die rather than just dying instantly
@@omegahaxors3306 New Blood community does have a thing for goofy speedruns, I've noticed
See: the "Touch grass" and "take a bath" speedruns of ultrakill
Even better, there's an achievement for getting run over by the Airdorf truck in all three episodes
to get WHAT?
Fun fact, there is a variation of Ending 1:
To trigger this, you have to Let all the NPC on each day die.
The variation of that ending is when Garcia said "I need people like you, John.", John just straight up *trying to BAIL on him*
And the Garcia, just points the shotgun at him
"Get in the car, Hijo."
Implying that you are either willingly want to run away.
Or
*You are unknowingly possesed by the demon.*
Do you have any link where i can see it?
You want to run away. John feels too weak to do anything, so he tries to bail like with Amy. But Garcia knows he’s capable, and forced him to stay to be mentored.
references I found:
54:32 "elevator to another world" ritual. For people who don't know, it's a "scary ritual game", similar to "The Man in the fields" and "Lady Spades". There is a blogger that wrote the rules of the game in the scariest way possible. They are really good, check them out. The blog is called "the ghost in my machine".
01:11:00 Ultrakill reference.
01:33:00 Dusk reference. Apparently Gary and Jakob (Dusk's villain) know each other. The "pet" is a monster in Dusk btw.
You missed the Exorcist 2 reference
The graffiti in the streets on Day 1 reference other iconic indie games, and there's a loss.jpg reference in the clinic
Ahh, I thought that was a possible sequel hook, but interesting to find out it's a reference to another game
2:08:33 PT brown bag reference
56:12 A red cross in the distance. You're not just in another world. You are BEYOND
I love how in the final confrontation with Gary he goes “I’ll let you in on a secret.” Then there’s a pause before he says in all caps “GARY DOES NOT LOVE YOU.” It’s not scary or anything, it’s just really funny and somehow endearing
7:13 From left to right: Whiteface (IMSCARED), W. D. Gaster (Undertale/Deltarune), Uboa (Yume Nikki)
11:11 Loss.jpg
1:11:05 V1 (ULTRAKILL, and the kid's name is a reference to Arsi "Hakita" Patala, the creator of the game)
1:33:42 it seems Gary was friends with Jakob, the cult leader in DUSK. The pet Gary mentioned (and the one you face) is a Horror, an enemy from DUSK.
I thought the robot from Ultrakill looked familiar! 😅
I was so happy when I saw the yume nikki ref
Oh so thats why the last face felt so familliar!

@@futurep9094 Is Faith and Dusk the same universe?
Incredible art, incredible sound effects (including an incredible voice synthesizer), incredible music, and incredible rotoscoping. This game would have been a huge hit and highly influential in 1986.
This entire game would have been responsible for a huge restriction in games at the time, holy shit.
Bruh if this came out during the Atari era, the government would of freaked out 1000 times worse than they did with mortal kombat. With that said this is a master piece.
I can agree with the first part of your comment but back in 1986 (the year I was born) no, this would have been restricted with an ADULTS ONLY rating and may have had a leather case and "behind the counter" and/or would have been just outright banned from many places. National news would have warned about its potential to "influence the youth", and PTA groups would have lost their minds.
@@LPetal86 I remember when Leisure Suit Larry came out in 1987. Everyone was talking about it. The game was an absolute blast to play! I have had only a few other times in my life when I laughed so hard. It definitely deserves to be remembered as one the most fun games of all time.
@@GregoryTheGr8ster Oh for sure, Sierra came out with a lot of great games back then. PC games seemed to escape many of the news freak-outs about games back then despite selling millions of copies, like Roberta Williams' famous _King's Quest_ series. Well, except the most puritanical groups might have said something about them and then when DOOM came out, that changed everything and suddenly video games caused school-related violence. Remember that? Good times.
By any chance, did you ever try Sierra's _Softporn Adventure_ ? I heard it got popular amongst high schoolers around when it released in the early 80's and was eventually included with LSL, and you sound like you were around that age when it released.
The Final Boss fight music went in so hard. Flipping amazing battle track for it.
I don’t think that “congratulations” fooled anyone.
MALPHAS, ESTAROTH
Airdorf really channeled Mick Gordon for a hot second there
MALPHAS
[epic guitar]
ASTAROTH
14:49 "DAMN HIPPIES!"
Caught me way off Guard and made me laugh entirely too hard 10/10
Same here
god, this game is incredible. i personally can't play it myself because how bad it scares me, but this game, down to every last detail, is so amazing. you can tell the developers really put all their love and effort into it.
Don't play silent Hill then
49:09 I like the way you checked out that poster, walked away for a second, then brought out the cross lmao
I really love that Father John Ward character and the struggle to find his faith throughout the chapters, hence the main title "Faith". It adds a lot of character depth, which makes the lore series all the more appealing and relatable, as a character. It was an excellent idea to draw inspiration from the Exorcist character, Father Damian Karras. Plus, that little color detail of his cross changing from gold to copper reflects his dwindling faith that is restored by God in the end.
I wish Airdorf would expand more on the lore, which is partially the reason of the game appeal.
I love it when Father John said "It's Mortis Time!" and Mortised everyone up with his rifle and cross.
Also, 1:11:05 damn Arsi was prepared to go to hell it seems. Kid's a bit thirsty for blood.
Isn’t the robot V2 from ultra kill??? Is all newblood games in the same universe or is that just the devs having fun???😮
@@rileylebans1201 Yeah, that's the Machine, alright. Arsi is the name of the guy that made Ultrakill. Niche Easter egg, if I may say so. I think since the theme of demon purging fits so well and that both game has this pixel-ly art style, it's not far fetched to think that Arsi (the kid in the game) actually got sacrificed and was sent to hell, but somehow got himself transformed into the Machine and is now purging hell.
@@impracticalnuke Heck, it’s even possible that DUSK and FAITH are in the same universe as in the third act of the Ch3, you can find a note between Gary and Jakob (antagonist of DUSK) thanking the latter for the pet. Said pet is the Horror from DUSK.
@@jaderabbit898 New Blood Interactive Universe is one hell of a universe.

And the funny one piece hand shake they do
@@scriggle3564 Nah, the close up clearly indicate that it's the black and white muscle dudes
Lol that spinning hospital bed wheel animation from Jacob's Ladder. I wonder if Im not the only one who caught that
I noticed it as well, Airdorf has a good taste in horror. Loved the DUSK reference too!
Can you give Timestamp ?
@@holorizu7316 probably the one at around 11:06
Yo, I was wondering if anybody else was going to point out the gurney wheel spinning
I swear to God every jumpscare in this game is on the level of that one silent scare from Insidious. The one with the gaping mouth turning to you really got me.
11:11 GOD DAMMIT IS THAT LOSS ON THE CURTAIN
OH GOD YES IT IS. YOU ARE A GENIUS TO NOTICE THAT LMAO
FUCK I CANT UNSEE IT
Pattern recognition is a curse! I thought it looked familiar! I almost didn't catch that! XD
What does that even mean?
And the placement for the meme is genius! LOL
13:11 that monster is snapping his fingers and stomping in a jig to a tune only he can hear.
Although the game was pretty slow, the story it revolved around was a spectacle to watch, especially with that secret ending.
1:33:37 So Dusk, Faith, and Ultrakill take place in the same universe? Awesome.
That doesn' make sense didn't all humans die in Ultrakill?
@@Mark-tq7bf Yeah, I kind of overlooked over that part.
@@Mark-tq7bf faith might have taken place before everyone dies in ultrakill. not so sure about dusk since I haven't played it but the idea is kind of a stretch anyway, it's just a fun reference
11:51. Fucking Loss meme on the hospital curtain. In awe
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE HAHAHAH
You know what, Lisa..?
I'd be having a smoke after being possessed by some hellspawn, too.
Also, Earl's Day Off and Priest Cop easter eggs are just too good.
My favorite part of seeing the Priest Cop poster was the player, certain it had to be cursed, tried to exorcise the poster.
16:25 I almost died laughing.
Lmao I agree that was more comical than anything else
"AHHHHHHHH"
*crash*
*aaaaaaaaa*
"Priest Cop"? Now that is a movie that would sell!
11:53 I can't believe this game contains a loss meme.
V1's methods of dealing with demons in the overworld weren't very effective until he went to hell, it seems
You've done incredible justice to this amazing game series show casing it like this. thank you!
The cutscenes were so good. Really great animation style. The story got me completely hooked. I just hope the first ending was canon.
I never expected that much of my life to end up devoted to watching Atari 2600 horror, but, much like John, we never know ahead of time what surprises (pleasant or otherwise) life will bring.
That sexy 'Priest Cop' poster DEFINITELY needed exorcising. Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos en proelo...
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What a great final installment of the faith series, a true retro gem.
Hope it gets a lot of awards.
Is there any way to actually solve the puzzle with the chairs on the chessboard in the daycare of Day 3? It seems like no matter what you do, you eventually just get ambushed by Gary.
But even if he didn't ambush you, the puzzle seems impossible to solve. In the initial chair configuration (1:16:05), the lower-left quadrant of the board has one chair that faces west, while the other two face east. The only maneuvers you can do using the wall faces is swap the left and right sides, swap the top and bottom sides, or rotate the quadrants clockwise. If that one quadrant has chairs facing both ways, then it's impossible to get the configuration needed ("Five seats in the North facing West. Five in the South facing East.") because there will always be one chair facing the wrong way.
I'm pretty sure you're not meant to "solve" it, and Gary ambushing you is intentional/required to progress the game and plot.
1:53:01 - trailer music and epic boss fight
Hey! Look at the grafitti at 7:12: it's White Face From IMSCARED, W.D. Gaster from Undertale, and Uboa from Yume Nikki!
I use the "what I am about to do has not been approved by the Vatican" And "mortis" on my guitar pedal board for heavy jam sessions
How? Is it an mp3 sample?
@@user-nd7rg5er5g there are some on RUclips if u can find a way to DL it or u can use an 8bit generator and do it yourself or the program they used for the game.
The program they use is called SAM or Software Automatic Mouth which is free to use
its insane how much tension this game can build with such simple visual effects
Oh it's this series again!
I don't know what it is about it all that makes the whole thing so damn unnerving. Possibly it's the sound design and the times when the dreaded silence just crashes in or the effective use of the low-quality graphics...holy shit man, this developer has done good.
"That's the end of the Faith video. Faith No More". Epic playthrough.
That sound design was incredible. Especially the rendition of Moonlight Sonata.
"I come up with my puns the day after yesterday".
Something about this game gets under my skin like no other as of late. I haven’t been afraid of the dark for years but the past couple nights after I’ve been playing this, I’m afraid to go get a midnight snack or whatever, I’m just like frozen in bed lmao. It’s awesome.

11:11 Guess even Demons find Loss hilarious.
I LOVE the little details put into these games. Did anyone else catch it? When the FATH GAME PROGRAMME was loading in the beginning, the amount of RAM free was 19870921 bytes free
I was wondering about that little detail...
This was truly worth the wait
Another great one in the faith series
I Will not be afraid of the terror in the night, nor the evil that walketh in darkness.
Do not be afraid, John.
Of course at 11:24 the Faith dev would do the Loss meme 😂😂😂
It fits so well too considering the location in where they put it!
25:36 I could be wrong, but it seems that John's neighbours are watching pro wrestling. Probably Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant from WrestleMania III.
The most awesome part of this game is that it's REALLY SCARY
The sound effects and music on this one are hella terrifying.
Awesome 😮👍
Excellent gameplay bro 😏👉👉
i was waiting for this amazing game for a long time 😁👍
Been waiting for the unholy trinity to buy. Thanks for the inspiration!
The ending where John gives up is really tragic. John had sworn an oath to God to take responsibility for leaving Amy behind after the failed exorcism. But in his final words he regrets having come to perform the exorcism and trying to free Amy. By stopping to pursue the cult of the Second Death and seek a way to save Amy's soul, he didn't just break his oath, he renounced what good he had managed to do by helping in the exorcism to begin with. He was left with nothing but to await oblivion at the hands of the demons.

Imagine if they made a movie out of all 3 games
The series reminds me a bit of The Rite with Anthony Hopkins
Or a miniseries.
@@cosmiclounge yeah that sounds even better
Problem is, I feel like it'd lose a big part of what it is without the graphics, and I don't think having everything being in an ATARI style would translate well, especially with everything being twenty colours at most.
Alternate universe where FAITH is a Netflix series that releases new episodes every week
It's one thing to feel ecstatic about the epic final of this terrifying story. The other thing is to see all these little details, and memes. I-m like 12 minutes in, and there's Airdorf on the truck, Gaster graffity on the wall, "is this loss" meme on the sheet in the hospital room. Noice👌
Yes!!! Very cool series.
"IM NOT LISA. 💃💃💃"

"Gary Love You!" / Gary: Meow!
1:47:43 that arabic word "jin" on the left side of the purple thingy really caught me off guard.
I think the creator did some research into Islamic paranormal stuff and added nitbits of em in the game. Big props to the guy!
And on the right is hebrew for “Dibbuk”, which is a similar spirit!

Considering all the weird (and deadly) stuff around? The only safe and sane course of action.
Ending with father Garcia is best. It's let us recall back to the past where he fought the demon with father, only now, he is afraid no more and can stand as an equal.

Can I say that this is probably the best worst bad ending? You literally lost all hope, you are broken and on the verge of essentially breaking mentally. You renounced your faith and surrendered your soul and in doing so, erased yourself from existence, while also dooming the world. You did this, no one else. You.
wohoo ABG Faith chapter 3 playthrough
*SPOILER ALERT*
1:33:37 This part literally made my jaw drop. DUSK IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE GAMES OF ALL TIME!! It’s so cool that DUSK and FAITH are set in the same universe, with the two big bads apparently being best buddies!! There’s even a Horror enemy waiting for you outside the cabin!!
With the cop and Father Garcia's performance, really makes me think Father Ward might want to get a one-handed gun to combine faith with firepower.
...On the other hand, probably messes with the gesture of the cross if pull it out while you're shooting. Very off-brand messaging.
