Yeah I run into one's like those all the time, they say oh it's not for sale it's in the family. Then they pass away and the family sells it or just junks it. Or they rather let it sit there and rust away rather than letting someone bring it back to life.
1956 is my favorite year. Great styling and as a devoted classic car guy, just seeing this makes me get goosebumps. 45 years just sitting in there..amazing
Years ago my cousin answered an advertisement for a 1966 Chevrolet. When the elderly woman opened the garage door it was a 1966 Chevrolet CORVETTE!😮 He gave her double what she was asking. It was her son’s that had died. 😢
The 56 looks fantastic! I've got two door 38,000 miles they don't look nearest good anymore as this does. Something about that tree falling across its roof destroyed its value. That made me sad to say the least
Im so glad we are still finding these classic beauties but instead of melting them down and turning them into something els we’re bringing them back ta life 😊👍
Yep, probably a 265 Turbo Fire as they called it. Nothing turbo about it, but they called it that anyway. In 1955, the 265 was the First V8 Chevrolet, everything prior to that was a Straigjt “Stove Pipe” 6 Cylinder engine, they were tough ole Engines.
Similar to me. My 55 i got was parked in 1975 because he couldnt afford to drive it through the gas crisis. Never pulled it out of the garage except for once in the 80's for a day to repave the garage floor. I bought it in 2019. Sat in the garage for 44 years. Cleaned up very nice for what it is too!
Wow 👍, Beautiful find I really like 55 & 56s more than the 57s , I love the way the front grill's look definitely on the 55s , anyway great find hopefully it all comes together for you 👍

1956, in my opinion is the best looking of the tri - fives.
Isn’t it crazy how the 55, 56, and 57’s are unique in their own way. Personally I’m partial to the rounder 55. They all have their fans.
I agree, to me it's the best looking.

45 yrs. sitting ! Amazing piece of history !
Sweet classic car 👍
Love the 4 digit license plate. From a much simpler time.
Nice find!
Totally beautiful
What a beauty
I take a lot of pictures and clean it up and drive it you know make sure everything is safe and good to go nice ride
My high school best friend had a 1956 business coupe 2 door with a 292 V8 painted white roof & baby blue body..my favorite year of the Tri Year Chevys
The 292 was a FORD engine. Ford also had a 272 and a 312. Now if that Belaire had a 283 c.i.👈 with a .o4o Overbore it might make it a 296 ci.✌
Chevy 292's were a straight 6 cylinder
265 V8, or 235-6, only two choices in 56.
That's just Wonderful !!!
Man I wish I could get a 39 ,40 Pontiac like that straight from a garage or storage
I'd take a 40ford ! If your taking orders !
Thank you for rescuing that beautiful baby!!
Well said

Wow, a sleepin beauty
Another one of those ran when parked situations I'm so fond of
The expression on the front of that Chevy is:
" *WHY* ?!?! Why are you disturbing my rest?! You're scaring me!!!"
