@hdos I love it! just a heads up, duke is bugged, all his animations except his eye mage attack are frozen, after he does the first eye attack. (apologies if you are already aware of this)

I love this very much, but if you can't see that standard rs graphics + GPU is the king then you are just going through a phase.

this was the graphics i was after all this time. i started playing around this time so seeing these graphics again made me feel so happy, nostalgia hit tenfold. honestly it looks and feels like a different game, the animations especially they did a great job with it. performance wise way better than the 117hd graphics on runelite. thanks for showing how to import the runelite plugins, will be doing that asap and sticking with hdos for the foreseeable future. finally my dream come true

The nostalgia I’m feeling is crazy. I remember that 09-11 era, coming home from elementary school and just dying all day to hop on the family iMac and grind RuneScape 2 HD for hours

This is amazing! :D While at the time, I was iffy about these graphics when they first came out, I find myself thinking back fondly on them often! So it's really cool that there's now an officially-supported option for them.
It's funny that the newer graphics are actually the older graphics. OSRS is a wild game.

Born to do this is probably the best soundtrack, I started playing around the start of dungeoneering and listening to that song brought back memories at the login screen. Times were simpler, good choice and excellent video
the colored veins in the rocks representing the ores are so nostalgic

I played RS2 in 05/06 era so these graphics looks very weird and not very runescape but I appreciate they are a big part of people's nostalgia and am glad people get to experience it again.

I don''t recall playing runescape passed the glory days of 2007 and beyond, so I'm not even familiar with this phase of runescape. I came back for OSRS a few years ago. Honestly whats funny is that these graphics somehow make the game look like runescape classic sometimes. It has this flat look to it, even with the colors. Honestly I don't really like that that much, I prefer the 117 HD plugin. At times this looks kinda neat, but mostly it looks sort of dated or archaic. Probably just a nostalgia thing for you guys.
Kalphite Queen = Run in pray mage, leave it on until she's dead. Even 2nd phase. Make it a bit easier for ya. She's accurate no matter what.

Because it is. When these updates originally launched, nothing about them was better. Just "different". Changing iconic locations and cities with entirely new models was not what anyone wanted or asked for. The tzhaar city was always expected to be red. It's not orange, it's red. Changing it's whole color scheme and character models overnight effectively ruined the place. (just one example, they did this everywhere else too).
The only group of people who think it looks good / are nostalgic for it are ones that started playing before they saw the old ones. (2011+ players)

Such an awesome client I just loved fishing and skilling with these graphics.
duuuude I just upgraded my account to a jagex account a few weeks ago and I was a little bummed I'd be stuck exclusively using runelite, had no idea HDOS was being integrated into the jagex launcher, awesome news. Much prefer it visually, and now that it has loads of plugins there's no reason not to be using it. I saw the launcher got updated but I didn't think to change the game client. Stoked I can use HDOS again, thanks for bringing this info to light lol

If the OG graphics were so embarrassing I'm pretty sure OSRS would have never come back. The fact that there are more people on OSRS vs rs3 says it all.

Now to the actual comment. How does this differ from 117HD/other Runelite plugins combined?
There isn’t much difference, 117HD just changes visuals while HDOS changes visuals/animations/designs. The plug-ins in runelite are a little more advanced, but as of now HDOS is adding more plugins by the day
@@Karlsonsk HDOS seems really good. Just doesn't show up for me in the Jagex launcher (was supposed to be added). Dunno if I can make the switch yet as I use most of the plugins in Runelite.
Might do some roleplay with HDOS. I usually run 0 plugins anyway when not hardcore grinding.
They already did add the equivalent of the Korasi sword. You been living under a rock?

@@JAXi9321 Voidwaker sword is basically Korasi, and with the HDOS client it actually has the appearance of the Korasi and the animation of the Korasi spec.

It is 100% supported through the Jagex launcher and the Jagex team.

I remember having to switch between SD to HD at some parts. My old Pentium would go into hyperdrive in HD mode if there were many players.

HDOS plugin to lookup player's equipment? Also is there a plugin were when I target a place on the map or screen it shows the shortest run path (red line) ?
edit: btw great video, I use runelite but sometimes I like to play on HDOS for the animations!

Yup, all there! If it existed back in the day, it exists in HDOS.

Sorry I have actually never played RuneScape so maybe this is a stupid question. I understand what the HDOS client is, but what is the HD OSRS client? When I look it up I only get stuff about HDOS and RuneLite 117

You have to update the Jagex launcher or open HDOS at least once. It should appear in the Jagex launcher after that :)

if you are using a mac, you need to drag the downloaded hdos launcher to your applications folder
Restarting the launcher or pc after installing HDOS should fix it
It worked after I reset my pc!

Seeing someone nostaligic for what was arguably the start of rs's downward spiral into rs3 is insane.
This looks really nice. I've been on RS3 for years (I know, I know) and rarely even open OSRS unless I want a touch of nostalgia, but this genuinely might bring me back into it soon.

i cant disable the fog,, i want to do cerberus door method,, its doesnt work well with fog
You can disable fog in the actual video settings in the client or your in game settings, it is not a plug-in 👍

Do you have to have certain computer to run this? I’m on laptop and I don’t see it on the jagex launchers just new official client, runelite, and legacy Java client? Is it one of them?
Update: all I needed to do was updated my laptop/ computer and it showed up on the launcher. Also, after importing my runelite profile, it only had about a quarter of the plug ins I use..the every day ones. Also I recommend not playing on a 10 year old laptop because mine almost blew up lol. I did switch back to runelite because of its functionality and not causing my laptop to go nuclear but I ABSOLUTELY love the HDOS graphics. Wish I could keep it.
You have to download HDOS and run it one time, then make sure your Jagex Launcher is fully updated! If all this fails, I guess try restarting your PC or uninstall the Jagex Launcher and trying it again.

Also please note that you need to close Jagex Launcher background tasks before opening it again for HDOS to appear (unless you restart your whole PC) 😊
How does this work for new items that weren't originally in the game?

I miss when the spellbook used to look like that minus what we have in RS3.
RS3 is just a jumbled mess or terrible UI decisions, solely focused on trying to look like every other MMO when they should’ve continuously carved out what their own game design language
There is a video on RUclips of how to setup rs3 ui to be user friendly especially for new player. I don’t play rs3 but when I heard that it did peak my interest.

i just keep getting a message saying "we were unable to download necessary files after 5 attempts please try ans restart client and if that dont work uninstall and re download" or something on them lines, tried to re download and stuff like 10 times

@@cypress2647 exactly. the graphics actually were great, and they improved up until right before EoC. The only thing that truely killed RS2 back then was EoC not the graphics.

i cant find the "imported profile" button after i did the import.
I dl it and used it with the jagex launcher and have been having so much lagg and screen freezes "not responding" and not sure why since I have a really good pc 3080 and all so no idea why this would be causing these issues has anyone else been having this?

Yes it’s been announced by Jagex on their most recent deadman update post on the website. It is also available through the Jagex launcher so it is 100% allowed 😁

If you think it would only take 20 minutes to go through all the plugins and set them up the way you had them on RL, then I don't think you were using RL to its true potential. Would easily take me at least 2 hours to set everything up again if I had to.

You must first download HDOS using the link in the description or go to the official site. Then you open HDOS one time and next time you open the Jagex launcher it should be there!
