    Was probably a nice car about 40 years ago.Not many left.Shame this one is toast.

    The yellow was primer. With the way the stripe is sans the black pinstripe and the fact that it's red every where, it might by a real SnH car from Ford. The only way to be sure is check the number. If last four are 0022, then it's offical.

    I recognize that electric truck in the back. Quebec electricians saved my towns ass after a big ass wind storm in greece ny.

      @san379  7 лет назад

      Too bad those electricians in Quebec couldn't save that Gran Torino from the rust fairy!

    With all the rust I'm surprised the door didn't fall off when you opened it. The days of it being a cool car are over.

    • @san379
      @san379  7 лет назад +1

      its too bad to see that much rust.. i would say.. a quick fix paintjob tremclad white and red and lift the body off the frame and cut the floors out and patch them and grind the frame and paint it black and the floor black and put the bumper back on with hand made brackets and the interior cheap and fast and sell.. somebody already put alot of time in this body doing new quarter skins

    "There's no floor whatsoever." Lol. Otherwise known as "The Fred Flintstone option".

    • @san379
      @san379  6 лет назад

      it was gutted and patched and the floor was cut out and flat sheet metal was used and mig welded into place.. and cheap flat carpet was used to cover the floor and the body had a quick body job.. fast patches and tremclad white and red.. same style and they put a very simple 302 out of a crown vic was used.. and the chrome was put back on and the car was sold for proffit..

      Wow. I guess if a person has the drive, even something in this kind of shape can be resurrected. I'm finishing up the resto on a 1977 black SE Trans Am, like the one from Smokey and the Bandit (Or "ones", I guess I should say. I think they said they actually used three for the filming.) I replaced the floors, lower quarters, trunk extensions, the lower half of the tail panel behind the rear bumper, and re-skinned the doors, as well as having to patch the corners of the door hulls while I had the skins off. I can't imagine patching up something this far gone. I guess for people like you and me that live in areas with wet winters and salty roads, rusty vehicles are just a fact of life. There actually is one of these Torinos sitting in some guy's yard just outside of town here. It's the actual Starsky and Hutch edition. You can see it from the road and you can tell it needs some work, but I've never actually gone in and looked up close at it, so I don't know if it's _this_ bad. My friend has caught the guy and asked about it before and says he won't sell it. It's the classic "No, I'm gonna fix it up someday", but you know he won't. It's been there for probably ten years that I know of and it's exactly the same, so it'll probably sit there until it ends up like this one if it's not already.

      thats fantastic... anything can be saved... when its a simple car or an old bandit car like yours... parts are made so there is no reason why not.. its good .. im glad your saving it...

    If it was a Quebec car it would have been in many multiple crashes and had a trunk load of old Players cigarette packages and been really rotted from all the salt they use on there poutine. Bonjour Starsky Eh Hutch

    • @san379
      @san379  6 лет назад +1

      i went back there and about 4 guys had it in pieces and did a fast body job on it and patched everything and put in a v8 and chrome rims and the same paintjob and probably sold it.. because its not there anymore.. ..Quebec rules are if its still registered it can be sold again and again to another person in quebec and does not require safety inspection.. ..its probably still going
