This is THE car that got me into cars...love hearing the backstory of the cars used in filming the show. Shame there wasn't a better to document more photos of the sets, cars and maintenance crews back then. Iconic car, no doubt

Great restoration, beautiful car but best of all the tires have big sidewalls unlike the one in the movie recently with its modern low profile tires that ruined the look

Beautiful car how long did it take you to do it and how much money did you spend doing it yourself? I bet you saved a ton of money it's nice to have a shop in the garage. Course you also got to have the mechanical knowledge and know how which you do great car great job I grew up watching these shows starsky and hutch I love the car! I could have swore there was an episode where starsky had a four-speed in his car?

      Hi Frank
      Answers to your questions
How long did it take you to do it............ 9 months
How much money did you spend doing it yourself?
I used tons of NOS Parts so ALOT $$$ Even though my labor cost was low ...I went Over board on the restoration
Starsky had a four-speed in his car?
It may have sounded like that but never had a 4 speed ...
1973 Torino was the last to have Manuel shift from Factory
      Best Regards Joe

You have done a really Awesome job on the car, just one thing. Why did you choose to leave the metal between the front andrear bumpers grey. Should they not be red like the rest of the car, most others I have seen are always red in color.

One problem with these Gran Torino’s back in the day was their price. In 76, Ford dealer had a Gran Torino’s in Starsky & Hutch livery (White stripe, wheels) I priced at $7600. It was a stripped Gran Torino’s with a 460. You could but a 76 Trans Am, 400, nicely loaded for $6800. I was a blue oval guy and loved the 460, but the Bird just made more sense.

Why would you change a factory starsky & hutch car ??. Ford made do many special ordered by customers the Blue & White car's. I know this as I have one. Plus two red & White starsky and hutch Torino's.
