There’s many interviews with them, a great video to hear about them early on is called. Something like Led Zeppelin the breaking of America, about them playing at a place called The Boston Tea Party Club. Singer Seven Tyler of Aerosmith was in the audience the last night, seeing them perform made him start the band Aerosmith. Jimmy Page founded Led Zeppelin, he was the last remaining member of the band The Yardbirds. He had about a month to find other band members, because the Yardbirds still had 6 concerts to perform. He wanted another singer named Terry Reid, he wasn’t available but told Page about Plant. Page & some other went to hear Plant play & Jimmy liked what he heard. There’s a little more to that, Plant & Bonham we’re friends as teens, & played in 2 bands together & told Jimmy about him. Jimmy liked what he heard Bonham playing, (LOL Bonham was kicked out of a couple bands for playing to loud), he was perfect for what Jimmy wanted. Jimmy knew JPJ, they were both sessions musicians, & Jimmy was definitely in demand. The 4 of them had their first rehearsal on August 19,1968, Plant turned 20 the next day. After playing the first song, they all knew they had something great. In September they went to Scandinavia & played those 6 concerts, under the name The New Yardbirds. They went back to London, & recorded their debut album, Jimmy & their manager Peter Grant funded the recording. It was recorded mixed etc. in 4 days & about 30 hours. Jimmy produced mixed & worked with the engineer, on that & all their albums. Their manager took the tapes to New York, & Atlantic Records wanted to sign them, not even hearing them play live. That contract I believe was signed on November 22,1968, the album was released in the USA on January 12,1969. So a couple of months before, 1 pair that knew each other, came together with another pair that knew each other, & became the greatest band ever. Robert’s 5 year old son died from a stomach virus, Robert almost quit the band, they didn’t tour for almost 2 years. They were rehearsing to tour the USA, Bonham really didn’t want to leave his family. He drank so much that day, that he drowned in his own vomit on September 25,1980. Those of us who love him still miss him. The band knew they’d never be able to find another drummer, to take their friends place. Robert is Bonham’s son Jason’s godfather, it’s still hard for him to talk about losing his son & Bonham. I hope this helps some.
In 1977, during Led Zeppelin's US tour, their five-year-old son, Karac, died of a stomach illness. The song "All My Love", co-written with John Paul Jones, is a tribute to him.
Grew up in the 70's!!.. I like music from every decade and can say there is "no-one" like Zepp. The debate about best drummer in history is often between John "Bonzo" Bonham and Neil Peart (Rush).. You're hitting the best bands from 70's "Sabbath, ACDC, Floyd, Zepp". May be missing "Aerosmith" (No More No More).. "Rush" (La Villa Strangiato and Xanadu).. "Styx " (Crystal Ball and Come Sail Away).. "Deep Purple" (Lazy, Hush, Perfect Strangers).. Great reaction! Cheers
There’s a new documentary movie called Becoming Led Zeppelin, it will be in some IMAX theaters on February 7,2025. Tickets are $20. If you are interested, I’d find where it’s playing closest to you, & reserve your ticket now. It’s only playing that one day, the one I’m going to has shows only at 4:00pm & 7:00pm. Tickets might go pretty fast, many of us have waited a long time for this. I thought I’d let you know, since you love them too. As always thank you for your reaction.
What the video doesn't address is that Led Zeppelin evolved out of an earlier 1960s British band, the Yardbirds. The Yardbirds featured (at different times) three of rock's most prominent guitarists: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. The Yardbirds scored a number of hits during the mid 1960s, but began to disintegrate around 1967/1968. To fulfill contractual obligations for performances by the Yardbirds, the last remaining member, Page, recruited Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham to perform these contracted shows as the New Yardbirds, then started in a new, heavier direction under the name Led Zeppelin, which originated from a remark by Keith Moon, the drummer for the Who (who said the band would drop like a lead zeppelin).
You've only just started on a musical journey that will never end. You're a lucky boy matey. I love being the age I am now. 62. And I bought my first record at the age of 6. I remember my brother having to take me to the record shop. By train. Buying a record was a real adventure. My 1st record was Sugar Sugar by the Archies. Then T-Rex & then Hendrix. Enjoy every piece of music you can my friend. The truly international language. Peace out.
Thanks for more Led Zeppelin ❤
More to come!🤟🏾
The greatest band ever
No doubt 🤟🏾🔥

🤟🏾 thanks for the information
@ I know it was a lot, but it’s amazing how quick everything came together, & how great they were & still are.
They have a documentary coming out in theaters feb 7 2025
I will be there🤟🏾
@ you, me and many many others 🤘🏼
Thanks!
Thank you!!❤️❤️
The history of how they came together is brilliant. Their rise so soon after they formed was meteoric.
😮💨🔥
I saw Led Zeppelin in Oakland California July 23rd 1977 the last concert in America 😢
😢 wish i was there
In 1977, during Led Zeppelin's US tour, their five-year-old son, Karac, died of a stomach illness.

Thank you for the info about his son! ❤️
@ikeeight8 You are very welcome. I'm glad you watch videos that give you some background of the bands you react to.
"The Rover" and "Ten Years Gone" 2 of their best songs you've never heard! Off "Physical Graffiti" not Live.

It is said that they behaved like medieval princelings. Especially on their private airliner. Not jet. Airliner. Rock n'Roll baby. Peace out.
