@@matthewmakiim gonna wait for as many hours as it takes in heat in sunshine in rain, whatever it is I want to be hugging the front hearing this man give nothing but emotion to the audience
Someone once said on the comments of one of their live late night shows that he's the gym teacher that takes the stage at the talent show... and blows everyone away. And i felt that in my soul lol 🤘🏻
I love this song and it moves me to tears every time. I also think of it every morning when I feed the birds in my yard. “Their laughter was contagious”❤️ Future Islands fan since “Inch of dust”❤️ love them forever.
Always so happy to see these guys get the recognition that they deserve. Outstanding performance as always🏝🌊 and I cannot wait to listen to the new album today!
My favorite band of all time. Will never forget meeting Sam, Will and Gerrit at three different shows (back when they played in venues the size of a tuna can).
I love this band so much. I was extremely lucky to see them live in 2015 and no shows were ever the same after that. Glad to see them still bringing it almost 10 years later.
I fell in love with them last summer after watching the movie “Titane” and I heard Lighthouse for the first time. It was like his voice and that melody filled my soul. Gave me a longing sensation to find them and spent a night listening and buying my favorite tracks from different albums. I played it for my lover and told him he reminded of that song.
Id heard cave by them YEARS ago, but lighthouse in titane is what did it for me. Their music makes me want to dance under shifting LED lights like I have no worries in the world. Absolutely let loose

I listened to the song 'seasons ' on Jools Holland and I was mesmerised by the emotions the singer ❤ I just can't get enough of this band ,love them 🎶😀🥰❤️
Love to see my boys back on the ES Theater stage. Brings back so many memories from that (for me) first time I saw them performing. They are such an amazing band to see live. This record is so good! King of Sweden and Peach are phenomenal! And man does my buy Will look fine AF!!!! Rock on fellows!!!
Didn't think these cats would still be around when i found their song back in the winter of 2013. I'm glad they are getting the spotlight they deserve.
I am here 5 months later after seeing them in montreal. Long long LONG story short, i met sam, william, and a bunch of the tour crew and techs. Just me and two women I befriended in the line not even 3 hours prior. WILD night, but they’re some of the realest and most down to earth people. They made us feel so welcome especially after I mentioned it was my first time seeing them in concert. Sam is such an easy person to talk to, and he is so clearly passionate with his work.
I don't think I've ever seen so animated a front man in a rock band. Reminds me a little of early Peter Gabriel, but more of a Baptist preacher with a background in musical theater. Is that the intended effect?
I saw these guys at a Weezer concert recently, and the crowd was NOT about it. It made for a more surreal experience, but I do like their music and energy that they have on stage
: I was at the 2023 gig in Bangor, SPECIFICALLY for Future Islands, and I got the same vibe there. Which I'm not surprised - Bangor is full of people who are there to r-a-w-k RAWK, like they just discovered Limp Bizkit from their meth-addicted, grape-like stepdad. They're just not used to this sort of expression, sadly.

10 years later and we're still taking all of this they've got!
I haven’t heard of them until about 2 weeks ago. WOW.
@darkside7802 they are an amazing band
Yup every album. Best band in the world
10 years? They been at it for much longer than 10 years.
@@jgcobb79 10 years ago, David Letterman said, "I'll take all of that they've got!" After their performance on his show. High praise from him.
it's like he's giving an earnest lecture on an important topic, but can only speak in poetry. i love it
I came here to comment something remarkably similar.
He’s a true performer. He does it like a true legend. The musicians in the band are fantastic too.
Such an underrated band. Their tracks have so much emotion, glad to hear they have a new album out.
If you ever get a chancee to go see them live make sure to get up to the front well worth it

😂 I remember reading that comment
I always thought he reminded me of the high school drama teacher
He's absolutely talented and a great rapper too - check out Hemlock Ernst, his rap alias. Back At The House is a great album
Holy $#@! That's what I was just saying in my head😂
Yes! I haven’t seen that comment but absolutely 😅
The first time I saw them on Letterman all those years ago got me hooked. Glad to see they're still around and putting out great music.
They were definitely the bees knees visiting Seattle at KEXP.
Very kind.
Anyone who types in bees knees… Is old! I know because I’m old 72 here!

That was wonderful!
The bass playing is awesome.
Probably one of the best bass players out there today.
sounds amazing in this performance
Can you tell me why from a technical standpoint? I'm not being cynical or disrespectful genuinely curious.
Relentless hard work but enjoying it no doubt...
It's not technical at all. It's the feel. If you don't get it, you don't get it. @@occamsblunderbuss
“The Tower” - an instant Future Islands classic and so sweet to see it performed live!
The frontman sings like he's being held back by his phsyical form. Love his stage presence!

Yeah like all that energys waiting to spontaneously combust, he's amazing what's running through him is electric
Their bassist is just the whole thing. What a great band.
So groovy! Love their basslines.
Bruh he lost so much weight , good for him . Still is shoegazer haha . No emotion
Got to meet his parents at their show this week. Super nice and brought us backstage to meet him and the band. Even nicer band in person

I truly love this song. It is very meaningful to me and a beautiful expression of emotion. This song has made my unhappy experience of life happier.
Future Islands and The Smile drop albums. It’s gonna be a good weekend.
Why do so many people have tears of joy hearing their music? Its almost an uncontrollable response.
Their lead singer has always reminded me of Russell Crowe from an alternate universe, I love that dude

Having Lighthouse in there might be the one thing worth thanking that movie for 😂😂 That movie scared the hell out of me!
Perfect fit into radio playlist from the early to mid 80s. I imagine this tune queued between Yaz and New Order.
Found them and beach house at almost the same time incredible evocative bands. Thanks

Don't wanna brag but I'm in the top .01% of Future Islands listeners according to Spotify. This album is unsurprisingly amazing.
Seeing them live always trips me out because Sam is very animated; whereas, the rest of the band simply shoegazes the entire set.
