- Stand-up comic Nikki Glaser dishes on the intricacies of her comedic process, and offers a self-analysis that she’s not living into her full potential. Nikki explains that her best comedic performances come when she’s invested significant time in preparing for those gigs, and yet she generally opts out of that level of preparation… unless she’s performing on someone else’s show (a late-night appearance, Comedy Central roast, etc.). Plus, we hear from Nikki’s father EJ Glaser, who looks back on the reason he and a friend couldn’t stand to sit through Nikki’s second set.

I love her comedy. But many have done the same and it eventually just becomes rote. The whole constant “shock value” associated with the sex jokes, which makes them funny, along with the self deprecation, had made many famous, but if they didn’t evolve to more, they fade away. She’s still obviously not secure with herself enough to diversify a bit more. If she doesn’t start understanding soon that women talking about sex and their bodies, gets old, and moves to a more story/life based act. Her act will be over.
Love the Subway joke 🤣.
Alot more people would relate.
I wish she didn't more jokes like that instead of overly sexual jokes.
This is a good interview that shows insight to a LOT of successful comedian's brains...Nikki isn't currently on the level of Chappelle, etc, obviously, but there are so many comedians like her that go through what she goes through.
She’s so damn hot..
Not SO DAMN
Fuckable on an extended basis yes
I have not been a fan of Nikki until now. Her honesty in this series of interviews is so refreshing! I found that the hardest thing to do and the most essential thing to do is to be open and honest to those who you care for most. So Nikki, I'm a fan form now on!
Watch her stuff from like 10 years ago she’s funny af
I love when famous stars talk about their "failures." That's always the most valuable part of any interview, that vulnerable teaching moment. I just heard Reggie Bush on I Am Athlete saying he wasted a lot of time being depressed in the late 00's during the investigation into his USC benefits. I wish I could listen to an hour of Nikki expounding on every little thing she could do to maximize her potential -- tweaking jokes, the courage to get real feedback, working harder, daily routines, discipline, mental toughness, sacrifice -- while admitting her weaknesses that sabotage personal growth that I'm sure many of us can relate to.
Sorry I've never been to a Double Tree. Is the joke that they don't have hot water lol
I don't think I "get" the cold shower joke. Can someone explain it? I'm assuming it's about something more than just "Doubletree hotels don't have any hot water," because that wouldn't funny.
Isn’t laughter the brains response to a linguistic surprise? Funny how that works
She went on a date with this guy and it's wicked gross balls to imagine.
Her career is tough to watch
Few more years then it's buy a dog die alone ville
This was funnier than the cold shower joke.
Glaser could do just about anything differently and be better. There isnt a much worse for that hobag.
She is not aging well.
I bet you're a hottie, Mr Jackson, my guess is a mix of Brad Pitt and Christian Bale.
@@mimzzzh I’m ugly. How does that change the fact that she isn’t aging well?
She’s 38. Looks fine to me.
not true.
