Really enjoyed watching this video. A pretty good list, but I wouldn't put the Georgia Tech blocked FG on this list by any means. I'd replace that with Peyton Manning to Joey Kent on Play #1 against Alabama, 1995
Also replace the FG against Diet USC with either the Marquez North catch earlier on that drive or the Jauan Jennings bobbled TD down the sideline against Florida
@@patricksmith5282 You mean the guy who has a street named after him outside the stadium? Highest profile player to wear orange and white seeing he is retired and still on everyones TV?
My wife and I were at the Florida game where Wilhoit went from goat to hero. I've never heard stadium get so loud so quick. And I've been to quite a few Kansas City Chiefs games. You and me both. I remember being at that game. 10 years old. I was so worried I was in tears when Arkansas got the ball back late. Good set of plays, though they're only from 1991 onward. Still, glad to see Jeremy Lincoln block the kick with his butt. Tennessee came back from 31-7 at South Bend to win that game.
So, just to let y'all all know, these plays are all from the last 30 years. UT has been playing football since the turn of the 20th century. There's a LOT of truly amazing plays left off of this list. Not knocking whoever made the video because it's not horrible, just need to maybe re-title it "Best of Last 30 ish years." What's great for me is that I was there for every one of the home moments and was in Athens when Juan Jennings caught that Hail Mary
It may not be deserving of this list, but casey clausens hail mary against florida deserves honorable mention. That play turned that game around and resulted in a rare Gainesville win. Not to mention a super rare double digit win against florida

It's crazy to think about how much the game has changed.. Tennessee literally ran the ball from the 50 all the way to the end zone with 1:42 left in the game
My wife is a Tennessee grad and we've been to Neyland a number of times (we live in Dallas) but not for that Arkansas game. While I am glad the Vols won I have to think that Stoerner is haunted to this day over that fumble. i'm glad he did but I feel for him.
If this was made now Tennessee’s game winning kick to beat Alabama would be on here considering how much that program had suffered in the last 10-15 years
That Arkansas was undefeated, but hadn't played a great team all year. The Vols came out cold...and fell behind early. But once Arkansas spent their initial energy and luck...the rest of the game was the inevitable power of that Tennessee team. It wasn't just the Vols players who believed they were going to win. I thought so too...the momentum was ALL on the side of Tennessee at that point. Arkansas had pretty much gassed out by halfway through the 4th quarter.
Hand of God Fumble... God's Fumble, Been told not use "God" in a football play description, but God created football and We give honor to Him for the Big Orange
I would have to disagree with this list I think the Stoerner fumble should be on there but my num 1 play would be earlier that year when Flo missed their field goal and chance to extend O.T. and the goal posts come down and CBS camera ended up at bottom of Tenn. River and part of Goal post come down Cumberland or The Strip. That was magical season on Halloween Tee Martin broke at that time most pass completions in row he finished game 23-24 with 2 rec. Most in a row and 95% completion percentage both Nat. Records for a single game. Not sure if still stand but be hard to top
I was in the corner of the endzone for tha fla game. After screaming all i could , my friend and i stood, watched and listened for a long time. I was past the age of going with the goal post but, wow, what a game.
My husband is from upstate NY. I took him to his 1st UT game, Peyton's last game. The next year, I took him to his 1st BIG game, Florida. He was converted w Peyton's last game, was in awe over GameDay in Knoxville (he didn't understand the urgent need to get there 5 hrs before kickoff). I warned him about the UT - FL rivalry & how there were fights that broke out between fans. He didn't think it'd be me trash talking after the game, lol!
I appreciate you and your list but football existed before 1990. How about Jeff Powell Jan 1, 86? Hank Laurecella in the Cotton Bowl vs Texas? The stop of Billy Cannon on the 1 yard line when going for 2. Johnny Butlers run against Alabama. So many bigger plays.
Yeah honestly the list is pretty cringe. One play before 1998??? The Hail Mary to JJ and (maybe!) the 2004 kick against UF are the only things from the last 20 years worthy of inclusion.
This is the issue with most TN fans and the administration. Still stuck in the past. Thats why its so hard to move forward. TN could be great again. They just need to get the administration in line which looks like its starting to and they need a coach that can evaluate and coach amd recruit. Recruiting for TN is now the question mark. We have to win in recruiting if were going to have a chance. Oh and dont forget NIL money now cause its going to be a big part going forward. Basically pay to play.
"of All Time"? No. Since 1990, maybe. Major recency bias. How about runs by Gene McEver, Hank Lauricella & Jeff Powell? No plays by Conredge Holloway?! At least you didn't include Mose Phillips' run against South Carolina in 1992. Plays aren't great if you lose the game.

Tennessee has played football for over 125 years. To think all the best plays happened in the last 25 years is stupid.
Peerless looking at the ref telling him " That's how it's done !!!"
How is the Peerless touchdown in the championship game not higher? It was THE defining moment of the title game.
Go vols!!

Of the modern era. Gene McEver's KO return vs Bama should be on any list of all-time UT plays. There is video of that run online.
12 years old and in tears that rainy day in 1998, then a certain big kahertz stepped on someone's foot, causing him to stumble and fumble...
I was at five of the ten games. Watched the other five intently.
Any TD in the National Championship game in 98 should be number 1 and Jennings hail Mary catch should be right behind em. IMO
i was @ the arkansas game. 13 years old.
If this was made now Tennessee’s game winning kick to beat Alabama would be on here considering how much that program had suffered in the last 10-15 years
Where is the Dale Carter kickoff return for a touchdown versus Florida 1990?
REMEMBER PEYTON MANNING
Billy made the greatest play in my lifetime. So many others but that won the natty
#9 Shouldn't be in this list, because there was nothing good about the worst season in Vol history other than Bitch Jones getting fired!
Some great plays in here, but the 10 greatest of all time? Not even close, young fella.
Wow all the great Tennessee moments came before HD TV😂
well when you have a good history then records are set and it’s hard to top them
@@cxshapp.dvstin Also shows your present is very bad
I appreciate you and your list but football existed before 1990. How about Jeff Powell Jan 1, 86? Hank Laurecella in the Cotton Bowl vs Texas? The stop of Billy Cannon on the 1 yard line when going for 2. Johnny Butlers run against Alabama. So many bigger plays.
Yeah honestly the list is pretty cringe. One play before 1998??? The Hail Mary to JJ and (maybe!) the 2004 kick against UF are the only things from the last 20 years worthy of inclusion.
now 2023 vols
The butch era really had so much potential
4:25 Kamara always got me on this "celebration" like........we won? what the hell why?
he was just so shocked he couldn’t believe once dobbs threw it he was sure the game was over and then everyone went insane
Fr
Love Tennesse's fight song, Rocky Top.
Omg Wilhoit what an era hes my cousin hahahha bro that was the best moment of my life as a Vol
i was there with his parents i think at that game not sure but we met up that year for suren
Hendersonville
Manning to Kent 1995
And maybe the biggest defensive play ever, Dale Jones INT vs Alabama in 1985
1998 against Florida not on hear should be one or two on this list?
Wilhoit 🐐🐐🐐
#10 should be #1
You forgot Alan Cockrell and the win against Alabama, I was there, they tore the goal post down.
There were some amazing moments in Tennessee Volunteer history that happened before 1998. Just saying.
I'm glad the miracle at south bend s here
Manning to Kent on play number 1 should be in there.
Well this is a list of the best plays in history... kinda self explanatory
Johnny Butler run against Bama
This is gonna need to be updated after this season lol.

Go vols 13:52
why did it say Jeff Wilhoit when it is James Wilhoit?
who the heck is jeff wilhoit
Right, it clearly says JAMES before the kick 😂
How is Tee Martin to Peerless Price not #1?? The play is called “Championship Run”. Led us to put most recent National Title. Otherwise, solid list.
