The trader does appear in your first playthrough actually as a random event - you just can’t actually trade with them. They appear as the “Mysterious Captain” and just tell you that it’s not time yet
Was just typing the same thing when I saw your comment.
Wow, encountered him already so
The mysterious captain was my first encounter lol
Oh my gosh I've had that happen!!! That's what that was!
Bethesda need to put something in new game plus where you can store things to carry over in to new game plus 2.
That way you can do every quest option and get all the legendary stuff in a little collection.
I don’t mind losing everything once but every time can get annoying especially when I’m someone that likes to collect everything I can.
They could give you a unique home where everything inside carries over but you can only get it an one of the new game pluses so you can be a collector going through the universes and put them on racks, storage or on manakins
If you repeat the main quest, you can stop someone from dying in New Game+. When Vlad mentions everyone going to The Eye, you can warn him about an attack and build the Armillary at your ship, saving them all.
The hunter also congratulates you for being smart
Thank you so much! I’ve been looking for so long for this answer about ng+. I guess I’ll do the story over again then. Thank you
Who becomes the emissary in that case?
@@Kingly242it changes with every playthrough.
@@Kingly242 Same as if you choose to skip the story - Its random!
If you have the perk that gives you parents. There’s a heart felt dialogue option on NG+
I've done ng+ 10 and I only had 1 variation in the Constellation quest!
The variation was that I was already there! It was me as the miner delivering the artifact. I was able to recruit myself as a companion 😅
Wait whaaat??? That's crazy when does it happen?
Use the power that clones you as well and you can have a threeso-
I mean a party with yourselves
I just started ng3 and everyone at constellation was me. No Sarah or any other npc just different versions of me. It won’t let me recruit them though.
@@dotablooits random. There are 10 variations, each with a 15% chance of occuring in any playthrough. Good thing the game is infinitely replayable
I don't think your copy becomes a companion, you can just have them join your crew for your ship/ outpost
You can meet the Hunter early in the game, he’s standing in the bar with the “payable” companions in New Atlantis, but he won’t join you of course
After that I also spotted him at Akila city. Either at The Hitching post or the bank near by.
Hireable*
@@thelastmotel “Rentable”
Wow! I forgot all about that till I read this. Sure was, before you know who it is.
You can actually meet him a few times at various bars before entering ng+ 👍
Something that was pretty nice that I didn't expect is that you get to keep your internal neuroamp (Ryujin Industries questline) so you can start NG+ with the ability to control people in some situations and get a huge boost anytime you need to talk people into (or out of) things.
I was thrown off by the multiverse ending. The game talked about descovery, but all you discover is that there's people stuck in a loop searching for artifacts so that they continue that loop. Even after you reach new game pluse ten, your no closer to knowing why the artifacts are even there and the game implies there's a god but doesn't revel thier motives.
I'm hoping they explain more in future DLCs
Tf are y’all looking for? Y’all don’t even know god in the real world, why would it be a problem not knowing God in the fictional world of StarField? The artifacts are a tool, all powerful tools, them being there are about as much of an anomaly as any other anomaly in the game and in real life. They don’t really need an explanation. That also isn’t the games story, the game starts as a story about “exploration” and “discovery”. The game shifts and it makes that very clear at the half way point. Sarah even says she isn’t even sure what it is their quest is turning into. What does it even mean to “live”. Becoming means a plethora of things, and leaving 1 reality for another may even defeat the meaning of life if you end up devaluing “life” entirely. Making the story about understanding why the artifacts are here and where god is to me completely misses the point of what the story is.
@@hartfantom the powers are forgettable, I forget to use them 😂, and tod Howard is the god of starfield duh!
The regular main quest changes in ng+ too you get alternative missions and let's just say more positive outcomes. I don't want to spoil it but when you're ready to settle down in a new universe I would repeat the main quest
Wait actually? I choose to skip the main quest, during my ng+
The vendor does appear in the first playthrough. In fact I'm in ng+3 and only found it pre ng+ although it was not a vendor then just an encounter saying something like 'you look promising hope to see you in the future, maybe i'll have something for you then"
Ah so then you can't access it yet, that is interesting
I got the same while going to a planet to kill a target. Told me to be careful and see you in the future
This happend to me as well in my first playthrough
Does anyone know where you can find em I cant
@@BlueDiamxndzit’s totally random just hop from planet to planet and you will find him eventually
Tip when save scumming.....if it says Go to the lodge( thats a variant) if it says Go to the lodge (mast district) thats regular, or companion you(miner version)
I recommend going down to the basement in The Lodge on your second playthrough and finding the weapons on the weapons racks down there. I managed to find a rare and epic weapon that helped a lot to get me started again.
You sir. You are an angel.
Fun fact there's a crack in all the mannequin containers so you don't need to lock pick it and can just take whatever is inside. You can use this on the armor in the basement for easy 15-30k

Bethesda's take on the multiverse of madness. Love it.
In my opinion this game needs transmong system (very fast) and planet maps with every location (vendors, etc.).
It's needs to not feel like a dead universe. It doesn't feel like a believable world. I can't be convinced to care about any characters or any of the worlds issues. I don't think transmog is gonna fix this.
They are working on the maps. The updates are on the website.
@@Viralbutnotyet thank you for taking you're time and sharing this information! :)
Yes we Need ist fast
Honestly it'd probably be the best and easiest changes they can make. It also would be entirely non-controversial. A complete win.
Rolled credits last night at Lvl 40. Started up NG+, but also created a whole new character to try out different backgrounds and traits.
so you can re do your traits on ng? or you mean you started a new save with a level 1 character?
@@JT--XL365he started a new character you dont get to change traits
@@JT--XL365 Like @randlestevenson said, I created a completely new character to play alongside my NG+ character.
If you choose to repeat the main story you get a lot of dialog options that say starborn that get you positive affinty with companions and skip persuasion checks. Also, through the run you can hint to a few constellation what you are and it gives them more random dialog when around them.
I can’t wait for the mod that doesn’t reset inventory/ships/outposts when going thru unity. I spent so much time building an outpost and ship that I will not be resetting until then
Ehh I feel like that kinda misses the point though. The vibe is like, you're burning through universes to get more and more power, you don't really care about credits, gear, npcs, just need a good gun and enough ammo to kill whatever is in the way. I feel like keeping your stuff ruins the sense of detachment.
@@swim3530 Well yea you can do that. I don’t want the hours I spent building my ship and outpost to vanish
@@GoonGaming20 well, way to do it is run through the 10 NG+ skipping everything except the temples, then when you get to NG10 start "from the beginning", run the main quest, romance your companions, do the faction and sidequests, build a big base etc. make NG10 your main save, rather than your first playthough. treat tthe first as a trial run for the "real" save at NG10 lol
@@AlIguana yea but I want to experience the game now and not experience doing boring temples over and over 10 times before hand.
24 starborn powers. 10 levels each.... 240 temples. Some will be bugged for sure. And you need to catch that shiny thingy in zero-g about 1500 times (6 in each temple). NOW THAT is innovative gameplay.
You talk like everyone in the past did something totally different and unique whereas Starfield just copied someone else's. NG+ has always been 'do this thing again, like you did in your first playthrough...'
@@RidoDragoexcept with Starfield NG+ can alter the story
And after that you truly understand the hunter. A soulless husk striving for power and progression. It took me 15+ hours of NG+ to finally decide to roll back my save to the unity and walk the other way.
On ng+ 10 now and gotta remind myself to not skip comms so I can trade with this starborn trader guy lmao
They should make it so weapons bought from them roll through your next playthough.
You should cover what happens when you repeat the main quest in NG+. It changes the entire story.
I expect someone will make a crafting mod that lets you change/add legendary effects. If they’re smart they’ll make it require quantum essence.
You alse keep all your research skills, wich makes it very easy to just pick up some weapons and improve them to max so you can rush after the artifacts 10 times to get to the real ending of the main story.
Skill mags respawn in ng+, often with new buffs. tested it with the mags in the lodge and the eye. both mags had different effects on ng+

@@taatham8058 As many times as you want but you get a reward each time you do it up until NG+ 10, you can also level up your powers to level 10 but it might take a couple more and you'll have to do the temples every time which is very tedious because you have to do over 200 temples.
I actually looted the first gun on the list off a body lol. Have used it to one shot almost all of my enemies and originally found it at level like 10/13

The thing stopping me from ng+ is I dont wanna lose my companion progress 😢
I was sad to leave the companions, my wifu was Andreja. No spoilers but I was okay once I learned what she ended up doing after I left.

Hand on my heart I honestly called those who ran through it sweaty bastards, Upon finishing the game and becoming Starborn my entire attitude and viewpoint completely changed. Bethesda pulled a master stroke on this game and holy shit is it good.
I'm currently grinding my way to +10 I'm mostly done with +7 but getting the powers take so long cause it's constantly back and forth
Currently on ng+5, I’m only just collecting the artefacts but once I reach 10+ I’m replaying the story again as starborn

@@tomscott4706 that's why you need to have a save before starting each NG+ 🙂
I bought a gold micro gun from that Mysterious Trader and later the gun demoted to white and unbuffed ): even in all the previous saves… so the stuff she sells is bugged… haven’t had it happen with any of the other vendors
You also keep all of your research, thank god! You can start customizing weapons and building cool stuff again as soon as you have the credits and resources to do so
Just beat the game for the first time thanks for the video it's gonna help alot
you dont need a cutter for the artifacts. you can shoot them as well but energy weapons are more efficient than physical (like1-2 shots for energy and 2-3 for physical) havent tried melee weapons yet. been hearing alot of creators get this wrong.
Edit: melee absolutely works so does gun bashing and unarmed. This also works for pin doors.
Some things I wish they did differently with NG+ is while I like the look of the starborn suits better than other suits in the game they kinda nerf them in that you only get three legendary perks for the entire outfit. While others give you a total of 9 perks (3 for each suit/helmet/boostpac). Also ranking up the powers is tedious there are only a handful I wanted (even though I did grab all of them). The problem is even once you max them out at 10 those that are already at rank 10 still pop up and you have to get them before you can go for one you don't have. I would have thought that once you got rank 10 only those that weren't at rank 10 would be given to you. Also, most of the powers are pretty weak and I didn't notice much of a difference as I ranked them up. For example Super Nova was one I ranked up to 10 and from the time I started to test the difference from rank 5 to 10 I didn't notice any additional damage. I ended up pretty much only using Phased Time, Personal Atmosphere, Anti Gravity all ranked to 10 and then I use Sunless Space but I stopped intentionally ranking that one up (stopped at rank 6) because like most of the others it didn't seem worthwhile to rank it up. Maybe they will patch some of the powers that seem to do the same at rank 1 as rank 10 but who knows. As for the ship, unless it's hidden I don't see a bed that I can get my xp bonus. I will use a different ship just to get the xp bonus. Just seems like a lot of effort for very little reward.
I will say, one other OP power is solar flare because it shreds tanky enemy's heath. I completely agree with you about the powers lvling up though, it became so tedious for me, I just stopped doing it when most of my powers were around lvl 5 or 6
Some of them only change the area of effect or length of effect.
Do all the other quests reset at NG+10? So i can decorate and keep found set such as bounty hunter?
I started my new game plus and repeated the main story. Now I'm glad I did because there's some big changes (one in particular I love) and I did this on my first NG+1 run. Now I'm going to skip the main and collect powers to get them to level three and four in NG+2 and 3. Then I plan to "start over" on NG+4.
I chose to really do everything on NG+4 for a few reasons. The Powers really start to get OP around this NG+, the Guardian weapons get better on NG+3 and for me the biggest reason is a silly one... I love the non-cloaked Starborn suits. Until they let you pick the design of the suits each NG+ I'm sticking with the Tenebris NG+4 one. If I decide to replay the game again I'll go to NG+8 and the Tempus suit. The cloaked ones are just too ugly (although the brown one is okay).
Can you say what you particular love in the main story playtrough at NG+? 😊 I want just to make NG+1 and settled down. I‘m not into to grind everything till NG+ 10
That first gun you showed, I got the legendary version from that very same ship in my first playthrough. 😂
You mean in your new game+? Because you can’t access the ship in the first play through lol
You shouldn't be able to, he did trade with me my first playthrough. I think it must be a bug. Like it doesn't do the ng+ check or something. Luckily for me it was near the start so I had no money to buy the super OP stuff. (I didn't know he stayed in the same place)
I actually received the Emissary armor after defeating him at the end of my first run. I sided with the Hunter and after killing the Emissary I could pick up the armor. It has 203 PHY, ENGY and EM, but it has no further boosts. Did I get very lucky or did others got this one as well before NG+?
I got it! Then gave it up immediately after starting ng+ 😂
Found Legendary Reflection Rifle’ in my first play-through, my current level 36’. Farmed a Varuun boss lvl 75, on ‘very hard’ difficulty.
Yeah 100% hopefully they fix it soon
Had quite a few reflection rifles, still on 1st playthrough, am level 128 now though.
One tip I figured out cause I dropped the cutter immediately:
You don’t need it to extract the artifacts. You can literally shoot it with your gun.
Was hesitant about hopping through the unity. Glad I did before I got too far with ship building and outpost building. Gonna power through to ng10 at this point since assembling the armillary takes like an hour and a half at best
Console command "coc mqunity" to skip searching for the artifacts and head straight to unity.
The Mysterious Trader is the only place I've seen the 5th tier also, she has "Superior" bounty hunter armor
The key has it

I’m on my second NG+ now and my ship shield is almost 1500 and cargo almost the same too . I got very high stats on my suit. I had over 500 hours game play before i went to NG+.
I encountered that mysterious trader on my first playthrough before entering the unity. If you hail her she knows your on your way to becoming starborn but refuses to sell anything to you until you are.
Research is also taken over on NG+.
Well i got the weapon in the UC storyline. Before the last mission where all the legendary gear is, there was this gun on the wall. Using it since then.
You can get most of those weapons in your first playthrough if you play it long enough and not just start a game plus right away
Any armor/apparel perks for carry capacity are useless when you can simply use personal atmosphere
I didnt know the armor was one suit. Which makes it quite weak even at 10th rendition. Mantis armor itself has same total armor (240ish) and you get it early on your first play through
depending on the rng rolls on the suit the armor in lodge is better
@@frottery yeah, but flat stats arent everything. Getting 3 of -15% damage from humans mod, which can get coupled with other great mods like +capacity and o2 consumption, will make mantis the best armor in the game for quite a long while. Hell, i only stopped wearing it at lvl 30. First real upgrade that ever showed. A Legendary Advanced Bounty Hunter armor.
a quick tip is that the first temple in the ng+ will always be the same and if you defeat the unity or hunter at the end whatever power you have equipped will get lvled up by 1
Good to know, thank you!
false, i've always had the same power equipped and it is still level 1
Not true when you finish the final temple the only power that levels up is the slow time power! You have to go back to all the other temples to level up the other powers

Have made a big first run with a lot of outposts, ships etc.... I go ng+ because of a bug in ranger's quest ( in neon..now fixed ). I have skipped the main quest until now ( NG9+ so far ). But I have raised powers ( not all ) and skills. I have seen the trader two times but had not enough credits to buy the strongest weapon :) Once NG11+ I will do again the main quest and all the stuff ( outpost, sidequest, ships ). No need ng. I wish i could bring the companion i married into the unity but since i can’t i think it it is worth going across, atleast on my main play through.
My biggest suggestion for NG+ is to go through and get as many of the powers as you can, every single time, since it upgrades each power each time. It also upgrades your armor (+10 stats) each time).
Some of the powers go from junk at rank I to quite good at rank X. So as long as you don't mind the floating minigame being done 240 times... Yeah...
How to best use the cutter, you aim in to focus its power if you did not know already
I encountered the trader on my first playthrough. I had a small bounty in both uc and fc due to an unknown contraband on my ship. She was hostile to me and constantly attacked. She's easy to beat but you can't destroy or board her and she resets to full health a few seconds after her ship is down to zero.
She was guarding porimma iii. Fml I had to save scum to bypass it.
Pretty much every Pirate, Ecliptic, Spacer, or Va'Ruun ship will have Contraband on board as some sort of decoration. Your safest bet is to fly a newly captured ship straight to The Den in the Wolf system and sell that crap to the Trade Authority, scrubbing your ship clean.
I think there is a major bug with this vendor. When I bought the items they glitched and just turned to normal versions of the weapon
2:35 - research as well
4:41 - that's due to the memory cache of the game. Simply load the save, after starting the game, and you'll be fine. That's, actually, the main reason why the game crashes so often on the XBS consoles.

I feel like just getting a save that goes to new game plus 10 so I can actually enjoy the game with everything it has to offer and making bases without worry of needing to new game plus it
I ignore every single communication hail I get in the game so I've probably missed the trader without ever knowing. Oh well.
You can get some weird stuff answering hails. In a tamer example I was invited to a party with a bunch of space drunkards. I told them to cut the gravity on their ship and spent time floating around collecting two dozen or so bottles of booze before reactivating the gravity and slowly making my way back to my ship. They were too drunk to miss the booze.
You can loot these weapons from the Hunter and the Adversary, you don't need to go into new game+
How
I picked one up randomly.
You lose it once you go through the Unity
Do I have all the same quests as the original play through or what? Or do you lose a bunch of quests and companions. I can't get a straight answer.
depends on what you want to go. you start New Game Plus... as a new game. you have no companions, inventory, money. so you can either do everything the same as you did in your first playthrough, or do different quests and romances, or skip all of that entirely and just collect artifacts and get to your next NG+.
Really, there isn't point doing anything else until NG+10, when your ship and armor are maxxed out, and then you can re-do the main quest, get romance, do the faction quests etc again.
@AlIguana Okay so it's basically like playing the same game over again with all the same quests and people I just have more powerful armor and ship and keep my level and stats? A lot of videos make it sound like the ng+ you'll lose access to side quests and NPCs amd I didn't like the sound of that. Thanks a lot for the reply!
@@68WCombatMedic702 when you start NG+ you get the choice to completely skip the main quest (which makes sense after you’ve done it ten times lol) all the sides quests are still available though even if you skip the main quest afaik
Can’t believe I’ve sunk 40+ hours into this game, mainly doing my own thing and side quests, and I’m nowhere near doing any of this…
I assume people have just gone hardcore through the main story missions to be able to see all this stuff…
I got that rifle on my 1st playthrough.
What i wonder is that if you do the main quest again without skipping do you get the new dialogues as well or is it completely the same?
So a comment I read before yours somewhere as I was going down the comments (I think that means they commented more recently than you lmao?)- they said playing the full main quest on a NG+ actually gave you some new scenarios and dialogues in your play through, seems like something to check out once at least if you’re going to do multiple play through tbh
@@jad3636 Worth a try then, thanks.
Yes it changes some stuff like...... spoilers ..........
Delgado not being the leader in the crimson fleet but the chick I forgot her name and other stuff as well.
I got most of those in my first playthrough wdym I can only get them in my 2nd..
as long as your level is high enough you unlock a bunch of late game weapons.
I scored an Exotic Va’ruun particle rifle on a higher level planet off an elite Va’ruun I save scummed that annihilates everything and I haven’t even been to Cydonia yet in the Main quests, in fact I’ve barely done any missions, just XP farming and glitch farming Stroud Eklund, New Atlantis and Akila chests for cash. You can get some fantastic stuff doing some random dicking around. I love this game, don’t know how I’m going to fit BG3 and Phantom Liberty in this year.
Man I really don’t want to lose all of my inventory, I’ve got 2 million credits and it’s all going down the drain. Do you have to do NG+ or can I just stay in normal?
You dont have to, but you’re stuck with what you have
I just wish you could swap out the Starborn suit designs. I still think the NG+1 suit (Astra) is the best one, followed by NG+4 a close second. NG+2 is cool too and NG+8 is pretty good, but the cloaked ones are just so ugly it really stinks you can't run whichever one you want like literally all the other suits in the game.
I thought on new game plus enemy level up with u I fought level 14 at level 52
But is it advanced? The quality of the weapons are really important.
i gues your outpost are also getting deleted right?
Apparently im the only one who thougjt of this question but are you able to switch sides after becoming starborn, like i sided with emmisary but then can i switch to become a hunter starborn. I couldnt find anything on this online
*SPOILER DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DO NOT WANT THIS* Each time you do a NG+ The universe is different and you run into "different" versions of the emissary and hunter, so you can switch sides each and every time.
@@jerrytolliver9137 oh cool, thankyou. Thats exactly what i wanted to figure out.
Can you tell me where you found it, is it in a ship? on planet jaffa 3? thank you
They still need to allow u to choose to see the powers u go for so I don’t be there 24 hours upgrading powers I’m never gonna use
All the powers are all useful, tho. You probably just need to level them up.
Nah I hate the power upgrading set up. I wish you would get told what powers where because yeah that grind is ridiculous
@@coops074i managed to push to ng+3, now I want to throw up….. 🤢Whoever designed this part should be arrested.
@@oficijalni5713 hahaha I’m almost done with the story and then I begin. I don’t know if I’ll do the full 10. I may stop at 6 or 7 depending on which outfit I like more but def doing at least 6 so I can have the ship full upgraded
I believe the power is always the same. The Sigma Temple will always offer the same power. While that temple will be in a new location each NG+, the power is tied to the named temple.
Just need to know which power is tied to which temple.
Where do you find the vendor
Does the property that you've bought carry over to NG+ ??
Nothing but your level and skills and I think research carry over, that’s it.
So should I just rush the main story ti start new game plus then actually do all the side quests?
I hear people grind the main story 10+ times and then have their "first" playthrough after that
You can play your first playthrough normally and just have a separate save for NG+
If you think this is gonna lead to a burnout then don't. If you're crazy enough and feel like it won't impact your gameplay and you really wanna see the new events for yourself then go for it
So can you replay every single mission, side mission and get the mantis stuff every single NG+ play through?
yes
Ye since the update my game crashes alot on the series s
