I just caught my pb yesterday, 5.5 pounds. I know that's not huge but it was terrific for me! I caught him on a 90 choppo at the very end of my retrieve, he exploded on it directly in front of my feet lol, seriously not only the biggest I've caught but the craziest top water bites that I've ever seen!
That has happened to me with the WP or Choppo where the bass will chase all the way to the shore and then strike just before you take the lure out of the water. May I ask what part of the country you are fishing?
Bet it was a nice little fight 👌 My pb is a 9 pounder followed by 7.5lbs and recently a 3.98 pounder just in a span of a month all 3 on a white spinner bait
Mosquito Creek Reservoir Highly pressured lake but produces Tons of fish and Miles of grass. It's a Very Healthy watershed. Great video as usual, Thanks.
What about water clarity? How deep will bass go if there is only a couple inches of visibility. My local lake is always muddy with about 2-3 inches of visibility. It's fairly deep though with lots of ledges. What's the deepest you would look for bass if visibility is less than 3 inches? I want to try more off shore fishing this summer. Should I look for a different lake?
Typically, if it's always muddy, they'll be more used to the darker water. They still go deep, but if the water is dark, more will stay shallow than in a clear lake. Usually, of course.
Don’t fish, give up, lol jk just go fish man don’t think about it too much get a depth finder or some type of fish finder if you’re that worried about it
I would guess probably not. The Texas Share Lunker program has males up to about 5 lbs max I think. I caught a big female a couple of weeks ago right by her fry. The females stick around a few days.
@@keithrogers2942 i assumed it was a female also. But I first found this fish on a Saturday, spent an hour or so trying to get her to bite and I couldn’t. I came back on Monday and she was still there so I spent another 2 hours watching and casting every 15-30 minutes, I finally got her to bite and I set the hook and my line broke! I went back on Wednesday hoping and praying she’d still be there and sure enough she was, I spent another hour watching and I made 3 cast and finally landed her. 7lbs 11oz! She was there for atleast 5 days!
@@LandonS_23 That’s awesome! I fished for 3 days for a giant on a bed like that a couple of years ago. She finally picked up my lure. When I went to set the hook, she only had the claws of my plastic craw in her mouth, not the hook. Glad to see I’m not the only “crazy” that spends so much time on one fish. Lol Congratulations on several great fish!

I love the maps, where you can show us directly what you're talking about. Thanks for the tips.

What do you do if your lake isn't available on Navionics?

I caught 3 fish over 6lbs guarding fry this year. The biggest was 7lbs 11oz! Do you think that could’ve been a male??
You have a 50 50 chance...😅
