Like a Prayer, papa Don't Preach, frozen, oh father, live to tell, crave with swae Lee. I would say justify my love it's a really beautiful haunting spoken track with a drum beat Lenny Kravitz moaning in the background but if you watch the video you're just gonna do those surprised shocked faces thqt lots of young people reacting do. Which always surprises me as yes the video was banned but it's nowhere near as explicit in showing body parts as cardi b and Nikki etc
"Gambler", from the "Virgin Tour" (1985). The only time she sang that song live. It is a rocky song and the lyrics show her cold approach to her lover. "I'm better off forgotten if you think that I'll be good".
I'm not sure if anyone has explained much about Madonna's impact on music, video, stage, and fashion to you. It seems like maybe a few statements here and there while somewhat "bashing" you. So... a quick summary that won't even cover all facts of her legacy. 1: Madonna burst onto the music scene with street-wise fashion that was very unconventional for its time. Then, she was considered sultry, slutty, and a flash-in-the-pan. But she never toned down her fashion or confidence to please critics. 2: She was one of the very first (if not the very first) female artist to take complete control of her career. 3: While male artists sexualized and degraded women in videos, Madonna never allowed herself to be a "victim" in any of her videos. 4: She introduced celebrated designers to the music scene through video and stage. 5: Her 1990 Blonde Ambition World Tour is credited as changing the concept for tours to come. 6: She openly confronted topics such as racism, sexism, and homophobia. 7: She embraced the gay community and discussed safe sex and homosexuality without fear when very few music and film artists would even comment on it. 8: She is frequently cited as the blueprint for all pop music artists who followed her. 9: Every time she was written off, she blazed back onto the scene with successful albums and singles. 10: Alongside Michael Jackson (and sometimes ahead of him), she is considered one of the greatest musical artists and stage performers of all time. [And her cultural impact extends beyond the things so far mentioned.]
The University of Toulouse, together with other academies and research centers, concluded using a scientific method that Madonna is the woman with the greatest current capacity to influence a variety of characters in universal or contemporary history.
I was a bit hard on you in the Vogue reaction, and at first, your reaction confirmed my opinion, but your lovely co-host made me want to continue watching, and I'm glad I did. You both are right, for it's time, Madonna's music and live performances were revolutionary, and meant (still means) a whole lot to a lot of people. Although this style of music might not make your playlist, it's cool that you're giving it a chance. Also, the fact that you realize there's a lot more meaning to most of her songs, tells me you're learning, and that's everything. I hope to see more of you both! Subscribed!
G'day it's Steven from Down Under It's great to see younger generations enjoying the artistry of Madonna. This song was originally released in 1989 and there is an official music video, however this particular live performance is an extract from her documentary circa 1990 titled Truth or Dare. Madonna is the last living pop icon from yesteryear, I'm referring to MJ, George Michael perhaps and Prince, the latter artist also did a duet with her in 1989 called Love Song where no music video was released. ALL HAIL THE QUEEN OF POP!
You don't have to get it. She has already cemented her role as Global Superstar and Iconic Legend. Even with that, 40 years into her career she performed a concert in 2024 to an audience of almost 2 million people. She's the Queen of Pop.
She change history of perfomances on Music with this tour she make the format for shows now all the pop singers have to do the Good job. Madonna Is the real blueprint
If it wasn't for Madonna there wouldn't be a Britney Spears or a Katy Perry or a Lady Gaga if it wasn't for her She paved the way for all the female Pop artists of today and yesterday
You’re watching a concert performance she made in 1990, or 34 years ago-the Blonde Ambition world tour (her 3rd of 12 tours in the last 40 years). Prior to this, pop music concerts were staid-essentially the artist(s) stood and sang before mikes with their backup band playing behind them. Madonna with this groundbreaking tour, she combined artistic elements: with state-of -the-art staging, audio/visual tech, multimedia back screen images, choreography, costume fashion, with her mostly original music and high-energy performances. This became the blue print or gold standard for today’s pop music concert extravaganza that most artists follow.
Absolutely iconic, watched this tour in London, it literally changed pop tours forever. Every pop star since has tried to replicate her theatrically on stage
Hey thanks for being open-minded about Madonna.👍🏻 This specific tour was very influential on other pop artists, especially female pop stars. You still don't have to like all her music or provocations, but you can continue reacting to the suggestions like you said. 😊 A few of my recommendations would be her music videos for Hung Up, Music, Frozen, Like A Prayer, etc...
You'll notice the head mic Madonna is using. It's iconicly called "the Madonna mic" because she revolutionised concerts to be able to sing and dance at the same time. Before this, singers stood at a microphone.
@@antonianasonthat's right, but Madonna brought it to the forefront and made it a thing. Just like with Vogue. Voguing was around before Madonna, but she put a spotlight on it and brought it to everyone's attention.
Shes a performer and likes to shock i was at this concert and it was fantastic she was so ahead of time check out like a virgin in this tour and like a prayer
I'm glad you're doing live performance of her songs, showing a different side of her as a performer which younger generations don't realize how much she's also changed the game of live concerts being so theatrical and controversial. React to Like a Prayer and Keep it Together from the Blond Ambition tour.
Other than 1967's "Respect" by Aretha Franklin, and 1972's "I am Woman" by Helen Reddy, there were no female empowerment anthems that i can think of. Women all sang about how important the man was and how sad they were for letting him down. Madonna came along and singlehandedly gave women worldwide their power back in the 80s and 90s. This song was instrumental in that- a cataclysmic paradigm shift.
I hate how they cut a section out of that performance for the movie Truth or Dare and it's the version most people see. There's a whole dance break missing lol. If you feel like it you should check out her performance of Express Yourself at the VMA's, it was great.
she is the most successful female star in history and the only woman in the top 10 best selling and most successful artist of all time at number 4 under micheal jackson elvis and the beatles.
It won't matter... the stats. In fact, it'll probably make him judge her harder... "like what's all the fuss about her, she's nothing special, her music is nothing special." He does NOT see her and her music's greatness and can't see it. It's not his thing. Let it go.
Madonna hit the music scene when I was born and her songs are a big part of the soundtrack of my life. I have always liked her music but I also thought she was a consistently good pop star. It was only during the pandemic that I rewatched all of her videos and many interviews, and I was struck by her artistic brilliance. I don't want to be too obnoxious but I will mention a few of the things that registered with me: 1. Yes, her music was consistently excellent for decades. That is really exceptional if you consider how long a typical pop star's career lasts. 2. Her musical catalog is extraordinarily diverse. The sounds of her singles are almost entirely different from one another. And her music always has been a unique balance of palatable popular sounds mixed with experimental, progressive music. She introduced many sounds (of different artists) into the mainstream. Many of her songs are confrontational, overtly sexual, political, and many of her songs are just fun love songs or fun dance music. She's a confounding artist because she has a strong artistic vision that is feminist, self-empowered, political, aggressive, and entirely confident but she also has a soft, feminine side that is delicate, and she also has an athletic dancer side (Her dance background is very impressive-full scholarship to U of Michigan for dance and she dropped out to dance with Martha Graham in NYC.) and she just mixes all of these aspects together so every album has moving ballads alongside confrontational progressive political or sexual messages. 3. If you were to watch every Madonna music video, you should be struck by how visionary they are, each on their own, but especially as a whole. Rewatch Vogue, Like a Prayer and Frozen and then also watch Bedtime Story, Take a Bow, Human Nature, Cherish, Don't Cry for Me Argentina, La Isla Bonita, and consider how each video is excellent in its own right, each video has a wholly unique vision, and each song does, as well. Madonna is the mind behind all of them. 4. She has often been accused of being an artist whose success is due to her choice of producers, and she has been brilliant at choosing producers, but think of other artists' music and videos under different producers. Quality always wavers. Madonna's never has. If she had no other talents, her creative vision is clear and evident in all of her work. 5. She is known as an LGBT icon but in her case it's not just because she's a "diva" with a sometimes-demanding personality. She has always been openly bisexual, publicly dated women, always hired gay and trans people of color to be part of her creative team and she put them onstage for the world to see and she boldly celebrated and demonstrated sexuality and always argued it is normal and healthy. She advocated publicly for condom use in the 80s and appalled baby boomer adults who thought that was vulgar. She confronted journalists who interviewed her during her publicity tours. When they accused her of being too vulgar and a bad role model for children, she would say she hopes children see her and ask their parents about sex becuse that is healthy and should be normalized. She condemned MTV and journalists for censoring her sexual content and saying it's inappropriate for minors while airing multiple videos showing women being raped, gun and knife violence every day-she said that is vulgar and sexuality is normal and the world is both crazy and wrong. She never winced and never backed down. When censors went in harder, she acted out more and became more overtly vulgar to encourage the conversation and cultural debate. 6. She began her career as a professional dancer and then as a drummer in a band, and she only sang to fill in for someone. She is not a naturally excellent singer and she has a limited range and not the greatest pitch control. She worked her ass off improving her voice over years and decades and really developed a resonant, warm and gorgeous voice against a lot of odds through discipline alone. The work she did to prepare for Evita was like being an average student working at 100% until they ended up with a PhD. 7. Everything she did for women's empowerment and to normalize sexuality she continued doing with aging. She refuses to go away quietly and hide as everyone wants to because she isn't young and gorgeous. She uglies herself up a lot with outrageous outfits and accessories, she wears revealing clothes and people say she is gross for it, but she always said she would refuse to go into hiding and she would refuse to deny her sexality when she got old and she is holding true to her word. She was always decades ahead of mainstream culture and she still is to this day. She's an in-your-face, hypersexual leather and vinyl-clad aggressive woman in her 60s and people put her down for it just as they always have throughout her career. Now we look back and understand whar she was doing and how bold and progressive it always has been but we neglect to realize she's still ahead of us in her vision.
So Madonna was not just about the LGBTQ plus community was trying to tell the world that everybody is important no matter what community you are part of matter what race no matter what culture everybody has the same importance in this world and before this concert and 1990 concerts were just people getting up on stage and singing their songs. This tour was the tour that changed pop concerts! If you watch the whole concert, you will see the theatrical presentation and you will realize why Madonna is the best performer that ever lived! Yes, the best it is my opinion, but I lived in the world at this time she has been and will always be the first artist to change the way we heard music and the way we watched concerts! Long live the queen!
You talk about Prince. Madonna and Prince collaborated on the album Like A Prayer a,nd Express Yourself is a track from this album. Madonna and Prince made a duet on this album : "Love Song"
About "EXPRESS YOURSELF"... she aims more into "woman standing strong for her rights and not allowing men to put her down". EXPRESS YOURSELF actually can be for everyone..."speak your mind "...make the person next to you know how you feel 😉 Dont allow"shitty " partners to you...choose someone that can lift you up 💋💪👍 "YOU DESERVE THE BEST IN LIFE" (powerful line in the song...)
At the time this was huge and very important, we are talking about almost 40 years ago. Listen to the double meaning of the lyrics, especially this was important to women. Be in control and not let a man say what to do, express yourself!!! The music artists, especially females today, are all inspired by Madonna in one way or another. She paved the way and took all the criticism, she was so unique and new and still is. And yes, she belongs in the same league as Michael Jackson and Prince, same age, same era, but they died and she is still standing.
Hi you have to take into account that Madonna was the only female artist to rebel against the society of that time and she still does it today . She has a vast repertoire They simply didn't recommend the most serious songs.Madonna is the only artist to have exploited her fame to give light to the minority also thanks to her songs
Her music was important because she pushed the boundaries of what society considered acceptable. She challenged the notion that women can’t be both feminine and strong. She encouraged everyone to own their sexuality and reject the shame that others wanted them to feel. And if you don’t think she was a rebel try watching the video for ‘Like a prayer’ and then prepare to get schooled in the comments about how controversial that video was at the time (1989) and how much of a bad ass boss she was in dealing with it.
Hey, I appreciate your honesty! We all have different tastes so it’s all good. I think if you continue reacting you’ll find a few in Madonna’s massive catalog of music that appeal to you. I don’t like everything she’s done, but she has some pretty amazing songs as well as performances. Thank you both for the reaction! ✌🏻👍🏻✌🏻
The song was about not settling for anyone that isn't giving you 100%. It's not about expressing your pride or your fashion or anything else. It's about not allowing yourself to take second best. She's saying, you don't need diamonds, gold, fancy cars, roses, satin sheets etc.......she's saying you need a strong hand that's going to uplift you, to your highest potential, treat you like the queen that you are.
Madonna is a trailblazer and ruffled a lot of feathers, as it were. She has always been controversial. BTW, the video to Express Yourself is a work of art.
This may seem like ordinary pop song to you but at the time of it's release it's pretty much cool and innovative. This was the blueprint for what the landscape of pop music right now. The fact you thought this was just plain ordinary means you've already been exposed to many styles and genres of today. A good pop music student will go way way back to the time of Elvis, The Beatles, The Supremes, Abba, Michael, Prince and Madonna. Those were the apex of pop music.
Madonna is next level Incredible artist 🎉❤ Madonna is not only "LGBT", she fights for equality: gay rights, black rights (her LIKE A PRAYER video is an example)... Into her tours, she always put mixed races (black, white, gay, trans, straight, asian, American...)
I will also say, that the meaning of this song, isn’t specifically geared toward the gay community, it was a female empowerment song about not setting for a man who treats you like your second best, to take back your power as a woman and express what you want from a partner. Since you mentioned Prince, it’s important to say it took Madonna two years since her debut albums release, to reach the star power of Michael Jackson & Prince, hence they were referred to as the holly trinity of pop music. They were all born in 1958 and Madonna & MJ were both referred to as the King & Queen of Pop to this day, for a reason.
Just know we were in the aftermath of an AIDS crisis. We buried a lot of our friends while the government left us and called it a gay disease. Madonna was very big at the time and stood up for us. Told us to express ourselves, pick each other up, dance, sing, wear fashion and keep safe. We were left alone and she didn’t.
The song is about expressing sexual female feelings and not going for "second-best". Madonnas whole career is about feminism, anti-racism, anti-LGBT and breaking social bounderies. 34 year ago women in pop music were expected to look and behave nice and to shut up and have no opinion. Madonna has been just doing what men have always been doing - and she has been heavily criticized for that until now. This (shortened) video is from the Blond Ambition Tour (1990) which has become the blueprint for every modern pop concert and set new standards. The tour was also criticized by conservative and religious groups (still the backlash from the Like a Prayer video) and Pope Johannes Paul II described it as "one of the most satanic shows in the history of humanity". And yes, there is an official music video (by director David Fincher) of it. Madonna, Michael Jackson and Price were considered as the holy pop trinity of the 80ies whose careers lasted long (and in Madonna's case still lasting). But unlike Michael or Prince - Madonna never (or till 1998) received acclaim for here producing and songwriting talents because these have also been a men's domain and these talents of Madonna were often overshadowed by Madonna's scandals. Other recommendations for here culturals impact (and her muscial diversity) would be the original video of Express Yourself (1989), Like A Prayer (1989), Justify my Love (1990), Erotica (1992), Bedtime Story (1994), Bedtime Story (1995), Frozen (1998), Hung Up (2005 - the year when ageism start). She's now 66 and she finished her sold-out 81 dates Celebreation-Tour this year with 1,6 Million people attending her last (free) show in Rio.
At the end of the day, she's the Queen of POP, if u wana see her in her 60s still doing her thing, react to her celebration tour from 2024..React to Nothing really matters from that tour.. Thanks Madonna for making me live my truth ❤
I wish you could go back in time… Madonna was everything to me , our community, and the world.; especially the LGBTQ+ community . Madonna is a nonconformist, she is her authentic self.
Yes, Madonna is huge in the queer community but she’s also the world’s biggest selling female artist of all time - she was massively popular with straight people too. Her music, videos and live performances were often groundbreaking and controversial, whether sexually, politically, socially or religiously. This is a fantastic pop song about being true to yourself. I loved your honesty at the end of the video. I suggest checking out the Like A Prayer Song and video next.
This is 1990, Madonna was on top of the world and a global mega star.. I watched only a few minutes and your slagging her off, I ain’t gonna watch people being uneducated and dumb slating the queen of pop. This tour is the blueprint for all current tours so like it or not it was revolutionary and groundbreaking.
I would not recommend the life performance when the video is so goddamn epic just watch the video and please please try to understand it and don't hate
Also, when you say you don’t get why this was so important, you’re looking through jaded eyes of today’s musical landscape and not that of over 34 yrs ago. There was not one female pop star back in 90’ who put on these types of artistic stage show’s, she truly was the first. Also, yes, she’s always had a huge gay fan base, but she was huge to the straight community as well, hence how she went on to sell 400million albums worldwide, the musical, social,Political landscape was much different than what you grew up with.Just to open your view on why everyone holds her at such high esteem for her contributions.😊
Madonna did whatever men like Michael and Prince were doing But it was problematic. She almost got arrested for this. She was excommunicated from the Catholic Church. She had huge hits like this one and Vogue. But it was 1990. People really thought she was crazy. express yourself was female empowerment anthem.
She's a Woman, She's Old, She's Crazy, She has botox, She can't sing, She doesn't play the instruments....The haters will always find anything to dismiss her instead of focus on the genius she is and that's because they don't feel comfortable with anyone who still stands exactly because she was the first woman to be different from others in the music industry by free expressing her points of views and personality without caring for approval of others, the first to stay "old" and still want to work and create art, that's why she is always paying a price, because she is PIONEER, INOVATIVE, UNIQUE, FIGHT LABELS, PUSH BUTTONS. For a man to be like that was always normal on the music industry but she is a woman, she should be quiet on her place and not to be interventive and express her opinions and above all never, never try to be on a place that was always and only reserved for men and objectifying men like they did objectifying woman on their music videos since then, how dare you Madonna? Men always liked to be on command and that's why they are afraid of her...That's the reason why she is a LIVING LEGEND, A MYTH, AN ICON, THE ONLY LIVING SUPERSTAR WHICH STILL REMAINS, and was named the QUEEN (of pop). Come on guys give her a break and let her continue her artistic and genius career while she is still alive, one day when she won't be with us people will notice her importance in History, but I guess it is always like that, you must lost someone important to know his real VALUE. That's why I'm always thinking how fortunate we are to have the privilege every single day to have her still among with us while she is ALIVE AND KICKING. For me Madonna is the definition of WOMAN and will always be until I die. Sometimes I think as a Madonna huge fan she really don't have the best voice in the world comparing with other singers nor is the best dancer nor is the best this or the best that and for me this is even more the reason why she is my favourite artist of all time, because with all this "limitations" she remains above other great artists on a timeline because she has PERSONALITY, CHARISMA, STYLE, INTELEGENCY and applies that on her artistic path and surpasses herself constantly, from others we can only say: "ok great voice this artist have, this singer is so pretty and sexy,..." we only appreciate them by their technical and physical skills, but with Madonna is different we appreciate her by some of this same skills but as WHOLE, as a PERSONALITY. Everytime she bring us a new record or concert she impregnate her unique strong sincere personality on it remaining coherent with her beliefs and convictions and that's why I think people still follow and respect her. She's BEATIFUL on her own way and I am not only speaking physically which she was of course more when she was younger but she is even more beautiful as time goes by because beauty is not only what you see outside but what you perception the others give you from inside and on this Madonna is the most beatiful person in the world and History because she is such a beatiful soul and human being inside. For any reason singers like Whitney, Mariah, Janet, Britney, Beyonce, Rihanna that stood for her great voices or style/beauty comparing to Madonna never accomplished what Madonna is and done (and I'm not saying I don't like those artists) because she has that "It" factor, a "je ne sais quoi", a MAGIC MYSTERY that no one can explain but that's why she is a MYTHICAL (LIVING) LEGEND in HISTORY. Many things have been said about this woman in the past and will always continue in the present and future because we want to explain and guess who is this person and woman/human being which is always defying us. She is LOVED and HATED, but the geniuses and myths were always like that, loved for some and hated by others, the true ARTISTS AND GENIUSES were always like that originating debate because they were DIFFERENT. Today to dismiss Madonna is kind of trendy but Madonna is ETERNAL like all LEGENDS are so as time goes by and as fashions move on she will stay UNTOUCHABLE and IMMORTAL as one of the most SINGULAR human beings that come to this planet and universe. Madonna is a mix of unique physical and personal beauty that combined together made the person who she is until today: A GODDESS among GODS. THANK YOU Madonna for CHANGING MY LIFE.
You're not even giving her a chance! You have reacted to hardly any of her songs- why don't you just get her Greatest Hits album playlist up -and react to each of those videos? A llive version of Express Yourself which is not one of her best songs is hardly fair. How about Papa Don't Preach, Frozen, Like a Prayer, Hung up, Oh father and that's just for starters. She's been around for 40 years you're not really seeing her metamorphism from early pop days to starring in Evita, to the groundbreaking electropop of her ray of light album, to her music video about the Iraq war American life. You've only reacted to a couple of her fun fluffy songs can you see either determined to dislike her and showing off in front of your wife. It's easy to call any empowered woman who is not afraid of expressing her sexuality a freak. Madonna paved the way for cardi B and Nicki Minaj to get their fannies out. It's no big deal nowadays it's not groundbreaking, no one even cares. When Madonna released her Erotica music video and her justify My Love video, both of which are fantastic songs, she was pretty much crucified as being a witch under wh*re and she took all of the criticism 😔 you can't just sit there saying I'm not getting it when you have no idea about her musical progression and journey.
To be honest I couldn't finish your facial expression was just pure shade over woman that you have no idea of her proper Legacy. Cardi b can barely sing and her songs are dreadful unfortunately people love her then they listen to Madonna and say that it's just average ! I would personally Do Like a Prayer next but please don't hate on her outfit all sit and look confused at the black Jesus in the video music video, maybe read about the video before you watch it she was talking about black lives matter back in 1989 and yet all people like to talk about now is how old she is or whether she was a freak back then @@KEITHSREACTIONYYT
@@KEITHSREACTIONYYT i was born in 2001, from singapore and has never step foot in america. madonna and micheal jackson are the 2 names and music everyone in the world knows. its just common knowledge.
I like that Star does not bend to the other dude's opinion. And I like Star's take. She likes the music. Likes what the lyrics represent (altho one could argue it's not just about LGBT people, it's about all people allowing them to express who they are... that's a perspective that could be taken). Likes the dancing. It's good that the dude has his opinion and just plain dislikes her music. And kudos that the dude gave it another try. I would actually suggest to move on and not react to her stuff. It's doubtful the dude will like it. It it what it is.
I wonder which part of the performance made him change his mind about the song? As for Madonna being unproblematic, I know what the lady is sayin, but there's always been blowback for things she's done. Even the Blonde Ambition tour (which this performance was taken from) the Vatican called for it to be boycotted. A few years later when she did her 'Sex' book, the backlash grew even bigger. There was even a book titled, "The 'I Hate Madonna' Handbook." During her Girlie Show tour, she ran a Puerto Rican flag between her legs onstage and the gov't got pissed about that, etc.
Dude wym? Madonna was hella problematic. That was kinda her thing. She was controversial ESPECIALLY for the 80s and 90s but she was totally an ally for marginalized people in society. So the LGBT community, people of color, women, etc. Madonna made a decades long career out of upsetting society through song and dance. I was never a huge fan myself but as a fan of artists like MJ, Janet, and Prince who were her contemporaries, Madonna always enters the conversation at some point as their rival and one of the most influential artists of the MTV generation and possibly of all time.
Your HATE is palpable, but you claimed to know nothing about this person. It appears that your mother may have felt a certain level of intimidation by Madonna during your upbringing. This might have been due to an arrangement where your father had a ‘free pass’ that included Madonna, which could have influenced your mother’s perspective. This could explain why you might view one of the most iconic artists of the past century in a negative light. I suggest taking some time away from reacting impulsively until you’ve had a chance to work through any underlying emotional responses with Madonna. Awful reaction, I feel so sorry for your wife.
Funny I actually asked her and she said Madonna wasn’t her style. But she said your comment was offensive so did my dad. And she doesn’t understand why you would bring her into her son’s thoughts on something. Did you let your mom read what you wrote
@@KEITHSREACTIONYYT This is from psychology today. "Her boldness and open expression of sexuality could indeed have been seen as a fantasy figure for many men, and this might have stirred up feelings of jealousy or resentment in their partners. As a result, some women of that era might have disliked Madonna, feeling threatened by her influence on their relationships or by the way she represented a different kind of womanhood-one that was unapologetically sexual and independent. This dislike might have been passed down to their children, who grew up absorbing these feelings from their mothers, leading to a generational bias against Madonna without fully understanding the reasons behind it. This situation reflects broader societal attitudes toward women's sexuality and how cultural icons can become symbols of larger issues. Madonna, by embracing her sexuality and challenging norms, became a lightning rod for discussions around these topics, and her impact went beyond just music to influence social dynamics and personal relationships. It's interesting to think about how these cultural phenomena shape perceptions and attitudes across generations, often in ways that are more about the underlying social dynamics than the actual person or celebrity involved." This is you. So don't feel alone cause you are not. Just maybe don't react to her if you hate her and don't understand why. That's what I said in my original comment.

Like a Prayer is a must. You'll see how "problematic" and ahead of her time she was with this one.
[And her cultural impact extends beyond the things so far mentioned.]

Subscribed!
Madonna was a trained professional dancer. Common themes in her songs are equality and empowerment.
G'day it's Steven from Down Under
It's great to see younger generations enjoying the artistry of Madonna.
The best selling female recording artist of all time worldwide. The Queen of Pop.
I like that your wife is with you reacting with you. She gets it. And you are just started realizing the same.
Madonna Is the real blueprint
she's queen of pop
🫡
And music videos.
If it wasn't for Madonna there wouldn't be a Britney Spears or a Katy Perry or a Lady Gaga if it wasn't for her
She paved the way for all the female Pop artists of today and yesterday
A few of my recommendations would be her music videos for Hung Up, Music, Frozen, Like A Prayer, etc...
Thank you were trying
You'll notice the head mic Madonna is using. It's iconicly called "the Madonna mic" because she revolutionised concerts to be able to sing and dance at the same time. Before this, singers stood at a microphone.
Wow I never knew that
Kate Bush actually invented it long before Madonna :)
@@antonianasonthat's right, but Madonna brought it to the forefront and made it a thing. Just like with Vogue. Voguing was around before Madonna, but she put a spotlight on it and brought it to everyone's attention.
@@jdemd1977 Right! Madonna had a knack for popularizing cultural currents in dance, song, fashion, and (sexual) politics.
And your girl she understand us. ❤❤❤❤
Shes a performer and likes to shock i was at this concert and it was fantastic she was so ahead of time check out like a virgin in this tour and like a prayer
Queen of pop👑
Madonna ❤
There’s no other female artist today that comes close to the impact that Madonna had on pop culture and she’s still touring and making music today
I'm glad you're doing live performance of her songs, showing a different side of her as a performer which younger generations don't realize how much she's also changed the game of live concerts being so theatrical and controversial. React to Like a Prayer and Keep it Together from the Blond Ambition tour.
Difference between this and pop music live performances is that Madonnas actually singing and dancing and opened the doors for pop music of today.
Let it go.

@@captainKbobkeeshan its ok though hes trying to hard come across straight but that closet is made of glass
Madonna hit the music scene when I was born and her songs are a big part of the soundtrack of my life. I have always liked her music but I also thought she was a consistently good pop star.
It was only during the pandemic that I rewatched all of her videos and many interviews, and I was struck by her artistic brilliance. I don't want to be too obnoxious but I will mention a few of the things that registered with me:
With every reaction from here, you'll start to understand the amazingness of Madonna. Let's do Frozen next 😁
I already did it it’s on the channel just go to playlist there’s a Madonna playlist there
Madonna save my life man plz be nice on her🎉❤
You talk about Prince.
EXPRESS YOURSELF actually can be for everyone..."speak your mind "...make the person next to you know how you feel 😉
Dont allow"shitty " partners to you...choose someone that can lift you up 💋💪👍
"YOU DESERVE THE BEST IN LIFE" (powerful line in the song...)
You should react to...Anything she has ever done! LIVING LEGEND! Try like a virgin from this tour and Live To Tell from the Confessions Tour.
Your pop music started with this bro. This wasn’t a thing until Madonna did it this way. She’s the blueprint. That’s what y’all need to see
The music is about women´s empowerment and letting women take and be in control and not subjected to the wishes and desires of a man.
People like u make Madonna who she is today 40 years after... so thank u
Welcome
That was a great performance Madonna put on!
I agree
Try her song "Secret", you might like that one
At the time this was huge and very important, we are talking about almost 40 years ago. Listen to the double meaning of the lyrics, especially this was important to women. Be in control and not let a man say what to do, express yourself!!! The music artists, especially females today, are all inspired by Madonna in one way or another. She paved the way and took all the criticism, she was so unique and new and still is. And yes, she belongs in the same league as Michael Jackson and Prince, same age, same era, but they died and she is still standing.
Madonna's always been in her own category
This was 1990, ffs! Absolutely watch the M/V.
Shes umbealiveable no Singer st the Moment like her , Just bad copies and more vulgar without geniality
Shes a goddes ❤
Hi you have to take into account that Madonna was the only female artist to rebel against the society of that time and she still does it today . She has a vast repertoire They simply didn't recommend the most serious songs.Madonna is the only artist to have exploited her fame to give light to the minority also thanks to her songs
I agree with you I just did 5 more Madonna reactions that will be coming out soon. I got more into her catalog and enjoyed it
From the same tour in 1990 watch like a virgin live
✌🏻👍🏻✌🏻
Ok thanks!
There are a few more songs I reacted to there’s a Madonna and playlist
The song was about not settling for anyone that isn't giving you 100%. It's not about expressing your pride or your fashion or anything else. It's about not allowing yourself to take second best. She's saying, you don't need diamonds, gold, fancy cars, roses, satin sheets etc.......she's saying you need a strong hand that's going to uplift you, to your highest potential, treat you like the queen that you are.
I thought it was about that and being you true and complete self
Yes the song has a music video
❤❤❤😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉😢😢
Madonna is a trailblazer and ruffled a lot of feathers, as it were. She has always been controversial. BTW, the video to Express Yourself is a work of art.
This may seem like ordinary pop song to you but at the time of it's release it's pretty much cool and innovative. This was the blueprint for what the landscape of pop music right now. The fact you thought this was just plain ordinary means you've already been exposed to many styles and genres of today. A good pop music student will go way way back to the time of Elvis, The Beatles, The Supremes, Abba, Michael, Prince and Madonna. Those were the apex of pop music.
ok, You need to watch her official video Like a Prayer, u want vocals, and the video is a thinker
Are you a sub because if you are than will do
@@KEITHSREACTIONYYT yes
Those things you consider no big deal today are no big deal because Madonna, as a woman, did it in the last century.
Madonna is next level
Incredible artist 🎉❤
Madonna is not only "LGBT", she fights for equality: gay rights, black rights (her LIKE A PRAYER video is an example)...
Into her tours, she always put mixed races (black, white, gay, trans, straight, asian, American...)
Agree
I will also say, that the meaning of this song, isn’t specifically geared toward the gay community, it was a female empowerment song about not setting for a man who treats you like your second best, to take back your power as a woman and express what you want from a partner.
Since you mentioned Prince, it’s important to say it took Madonna two years since her debut albums release, to reach the star power of Michael Jackson & Prince, hence they were referred to as the holly trinity of pop music. They were all born in 1958 and Madonna & MJ were both referred to as the King & Queen of Pop to this day, for a reason.
Her musical genius is about women empowerment.
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
Podrías probar con "Like a virgin", también del Blond Ambition Tour. Un momento tan icónico.
Omg woah
I was 19 yrs old when I saw this show in London. It was amazing and magical. And yes, I'm gay
Next Madonna like a prayer queen of pop live from paris 1990
I would not recommend the life performance when the video is so goddamn epic just watch the video and please please try to understand it and don't hate
This was 1990... nobody did what Madonna did. I was at this concert in NYC and the audience lost their minds.
I can believe it
Prince and Madonna made a song together it’s called love song
And it is awful
Yassss
Ya ya
We need more star on channel
Wow
Wait till he finds out Prince was on that album. On several songs.
😊😊🎉🎉
This song is more geared towards women respecting themselves by not settling for second best in a man.
Please React to Madonna Like a Prayer video next thank you 🙏
if you don't get it you never will....that's all
I think I kinda get it
ok you came around
Finish the video
its all gimmick. his gay ass knew exactly who madonna is 💁♀️
@singaporechickenrice2484 you seem to be projecting. I wasn’t even alive when this came out
To be honest I couldn't finish your facial expression was just pure shade over woman that you have no idea of her proper Legacy.

So you know stars name but not mine it’s literally in the channels name 😂😂😂😂. It’s all good
I wonder which part of the performance made him change his mind about the song? As for Madonna being unproblematic, I know what the lady is sayin, but there's always been blowback for things she's done. Even the Blonde Ambition tour (which this performance was taken from) the Vatican called for it to be boycotted. A few years later when she did her 'Sex' book, the backlash grew even bigger. There was even a book titled, "The 'I Hate Madonna' Handbook." During her Girlie Show tour, she ran a Puerto Rican flag between her legs onstage and the gov't got pissed about that, etc.
I would suggest doing a little research on her before your next reaction just so you can have some context about her career.
oook, you are sincere... You have to be sincere to tell the people who adore it, that you don't like it: it's honest...
They don’t understand it and yet there isn’t one single person today that can do everything she did today. You all clueless as ever.
Keith…you’re remarkably clueless…hope the wife has the brains in the family! 😂😂😂😂
What seems so comon for you wasn't in 1989/1990.
You don't have to get it.
Go back compare her stuff along with what was going on at that time
Prince?????? She is on top even topping Michael Jackson

I agree with youn about vogue its not one of my favorites
This guy it's very ignorant about pop culture, sorry but it's the truth
Your HATE is palpable, but you claimed to know nothing about this person. It appears that your mother may have felt a certain level of intimidation by Madonna during your upbringing. This might have been due to an arrangement where your father had a ‘free pass’ that included Madonna, which could have influenced your mother’s perspective. This could explain why you might view one of the most iconic artists of the past century in a negative light. I suggest taking some time away from reacting impulsively until you’ve had a chance to work through any underlying emotional responses with Madonna. Awful reaction, I feel so sorry for your wife.
Thanks for watching how’s your mom doing
