I have a companion video to this one on my second channel. It features footage I had to cut from this episode do to time and various other reasons: ruclips.net/video/6Fs4k9Poldo/видео.html
This mall looks amazing and the Preying Mantis is awesome! I love how it’s mostly independent businesses. This is a great part of Tony’s legacy I never knew existed until now. R.I.P. Tony.
wow what a neat mall! clever the way they built it out of old shipping containers. all those neat stores though I'd definitely hit up the five dollar place some of those gaming posters would be pretty cool to have! that praying mantis at the end was really cool though!
Moved to Vegas over a year ago and still haven't made it out to the Container Park (we live on the far West side of the city). Thanks for the detailed tour, now I'm convinced I need to head over at some point.
Hey! I lived in the city for a while and the reason for them not having a map is due to how often the shops change. The 5$ Airbrushed hats used to be a spot for a Kappa Toys store which moved to the Fashion Mall recently. That sticker place also used to be for small businesses like rental bikes or radio stations until it became an art installation. Furthermore, the events at Container Park are always getting packed and extremely lively.
This is so cool!! Me and my wife was there 2 years ago at Halloween time for friends wedding. We only came here at night so we did not see 1/2 of what was there!!! Love it! Keep it up and I hope to go back soon!!! Again love it!!!
Great vid. I literally live across the street from Container Park so I never go in there. I saw the CBD shop, which I had no idea was there, so I decided to go there, see what they have, and give your channel a shout out. It was closed though.Kind of weird because it was 10:30 AM.
I was at a really cool container mall down in Christchurch, New Zealand. It had sprung up organically as many businesses were destroyed by the huge earthquake that devestated the city back in 2011, so they set up in the shipping containers (that were brought in to prop-up buildings that were structurally unstable), it was great to see a place thriving even amongst the ruins. The best authentic thai green curry I've ever had, came out of a hatch on the side of a shipping container in that place! This reminded me of it, but I just checked it up online to see it's unfortunately now gone after pressure from the local council and developers.
This is definitely a must stop the next time I go to Vegas. I was a getting a little bit of ARIZONA MILL mall vibe from this. No doubt, the architecture of this place is unique. Awesome video.
I was at container park June 2018. Saw a local concert there in the evening. They had awesome lounges to lay in while you enjoyed the music. It’s a cool place and I would definitely visit again.
Found container park last September after leaving Fremont spent 4 hrs there had a delicious lobster grill cheese at a bar on the ground floor went to another and had shots of whiskey I will definitely go back
I went to Las Vegas last December, had no clue this was there. Definitely would have checked this pace out if I knew. Always planned on going to Vegas again, I loved it there, and now I have another reason to come back.
That's always how it goes. Theres a small 3 story mall about this size in Provincetown MA. First floor packed, second floor a few shops, third floor abandoned. Same goes for the Atlantic city mall, though that's doing awful in general now. And south china mall they never even finished the top floor! 😂 But it is a surreal feeling being up there alone and you can see everyone below but they dont notice you. Edit: that light show is very a e s t h e t I c
Three-floor malls seem to have suffered from over-ambitiousness (and conventional malls that are three floors are probably disaster zones now - not enough stores left to support one floor, never mind three!)
1. That down tempo elevator music version of Rock Steady is now gonna be stuck in my head all day. 2. Go back and buy me those Sonic and Mario Kart posters and I'll totally pay you back. XD
My old stomping grounds.. Miss this place, thanks for doing this video! The guy who owns mantis made that for the monthly First Friday arts festival and it was a hit so they placed it at container park. It's pronounced "Shay" btw haha
Love this place! Found some cute souvenirs to bring home, come here everytime I'm in vegas. Nice place to come at night if you want a different vibe from fremont. As a 30 year old this place is right up my ally.
My first thought was wow, metal containers in the desert sun seems like a spectacularly bad idea. The fans are running even though you're filming in December. Then again, they build glass towers on the Strip so I'm probably overthinking it. The place certainly looks nice though.
All hail the Mantis. As a vegas local, the container park is definitely geared towards more tourists that's for sure, but there's a fair few locals that like to visit and check the place out. It's really cool that it features a lot of local business rather than your standard big name stores. The biggest named store there is probably the gaming goat. Also, the 2 biggest "malls" here in vegas are outdoor malls, which is Downtown Summerlin and Town Square. Mainly because those 2 malls have movie theaters, and it's nice to have a movie theater that isn't in a casino. I suggest taking a look at those malls when you are back in vegas. Downtown Summerlin is more of the upscale place while Town Square is a bit more down to earth. Town Square is easier to get to while Downtown Summerlin is definitely off the beaten path
This was awesome! What a cool place. I've been to Vegas, but never knew this was here. Don't know if I'll be there again, but I'd definitely stop in if I got the chance! Thank you also for being one of my few go to channels I can count on for treating me like an adult and never being over the top goofy or sensationalized. It's refreshing, really.
There is a place like this in Albuquerque that opened a few years ago. Mostly food joints and a craft beer bar. Live music on some nights. Awesome casual atmosphere and great local food.
Loved this place, so unique with some great shops. There are a few places in London like this but mainly used for office space rather than retail use :)
I recently went to the Container Park and thought it was a nice place for people to hang out without the need of a casino, club, or buffet. When I went on a Saturday afternoon it was mostly parents with their children playing at the tree house. That tree house was pretty cool; I was able to walk up to the second level but didn't go down any slides and the peak was closed off. I do wish there were more eateries and shops. I was hoping to find a cafe of some sort but I couldn't find one nearby. Overall, I think it has great potential and I can't wait to see what it becomes in the future.
There is a much smaller concept with containers called MSA Annex. Some other cool stuff nearby as well. Phoenix has The Churchill which is also a cool area with lots of art and culture.
I'm happy to report that Container Park looks pretty great today if you revisit. I am concerned with the loss of Tony Hsieh that it's hard to know what the future holds. Then again , Paul Allen's estate is limping along too .
We love Oak and Ivy at Container park! Been there 7 times now. You gotta go back and visit at night. Also the playground is built with adults in mind you can play too. Cheers
Never been to Vegas so never heard of this before, or that other places were doing this. I'll be visiting an outdoor mall this weekend in Clinton Michigan call Partridge Creek, first time there. There don't seem to be any container malls in Michigan though.
There is a new small container park near Spanish Fort, AL. The strange thing is it's literally right next to an existing mall with many vacant stores. I wonder if the mall leases got to expensive so they did this instead. The old mall has a few anchor stores but the small stores are almost all empty.
I knew about this place and have eaten here twice. I didn't know about neonopolis even though we were to Freemont Street every year for the last 6 years.
It is hot as BALLS there in summer bc of the metal so locals tend to only go there at night then. And about half of the shipping containers were actually built just for the park brand new-I watched the company build them. And you HAVE to go down the slide. I’m in my 40s and didn’t die. But it’s terrifying :)
Interesting place. Last time I was around here was back in 2011 when I was long haul trucking. Pull the bicycle out of the truck cab and go for a ride!!
Same! Especially the little ones. JJ Abrams flares are too much like a car's high beams. No thanks. I don't need to be reminded when I'm having a good time watching a film xDD
Looks quite the place off of the usual Las Vegas strip as well the booze and gambling that comes to mind. Notice on the upper levels you get to see the top of the Stratosphere Tower.
Most things down there will fail just like the Neonopolis - now that everything is closed I doubt most of this mall will open up when they finally allow businesses to reopen.
This might help: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Hsieh It appears the Chinese last name would be pronounced "He-say". Cool and very quirky, and considering Vegas' climate is a lot like Phoenix there's lots of shade. In one of your previous videos you asked "Is GameStop dying?' answer, yes: ruclips.net/video/IJo2lHe78NY/видео.html That ending footage was indeed awesome!
I have a companion video to this one on my second channel. It features footage I had to cut from this episode do to time and various other reasons: ruclips.net/video/6Fs4k9Poldo/видео.html
I’m an adult & went down that slide. It was terrifying
Fucking same
Yep I went down the slide too, I’m 38 😂
I definitely played in the treehouse after dark, I'm 28. It's as fun as it looks.
I can't wait to see Tupperware Square
JT LovesCodeLyoko : the buildings are air-tight...
Lol
I appreciate it that you do not have background music blasting drowning out your narrative. Unlike most of the other dead mallers seem to thrive on
The video 🎶📻🎹 is +. Not distracting but ties into the content.
This mall looks amazing and the Preying Mantis is awesome! I love how it’s mostly independent businesses. This is a great part of Tony’s legacy I never knew existed until now. R.I.P. Tony.

that was sick at the end with how the music a near synchronized to the mantis fireballs. I'm impressed
Damn, watching this video makes me really miss the life before 2020. Also, RIP Tony.
RIP to Tony. That place looks rad.
Moved to Vegas over a year ago and still haven't made it out to the Container Park (we live on the far West side of the city). Thanks for the detailed tour, now I'm convinced I need to head over at some point.
RIP Tony Hsieh
I like the idea of supporting Mom and Pops shops. 👍 😆

Always stop in on the Container Park when I go to the Donut Bar every year on my annual Vegas vacation. Always stay downtown also.

I can see the top floor being turned into small office space.

I have never seen a mall like this. Thanks for sharing. Will definitely try to stop by whenever im in Vegas.
My old stomping grounds.. Miss this place, thanks for doing this video! The guy who owns mantis made that for the monthly First Friday arts festival and it was a hit so they placed it at container park. It's pronounced "Shay" btw haha
The only "Container" shops I knew of in Las Vegas are the ones over by the "Pawn Stars" shop. I will have to try to go here next time I am out there!
Love this place! Found some cute souvenirs to bring home, come here everytime I'm in vegas. Nice place to come at night if you want a different vibe from fremont. As a 30 year old this place is right up my ally.

wow you did such a good job finding a song that syncs up so well with that mantis
All hail the Mantis.

I went there years ago, loved it and how unique the area is as well
There is a place like this in Albuquerque that opened a few years ago. Mostly food joints and a craft beer bar. Live music on some nights. Awesome casual atmosphere and great local food.
Thanks for the tour. I would go to Vegas just to go to this mall.
25 years ago, you would have had to drag me out of that $5 store.
I've never heard about this place, but damn it's a beautiful mall. I gotta swing by there next time I go to Vegas.
Loved this place, so unique with some great shops. There are a few places in London like this but mainly used for office space rather than retail use :)

I have been here! It is really nice to see that they are still doing pretty well, not many mall left.
I stop by there every time I visit Vegas!
This concept would be a hit in Tucson i feel. Especially if it was local eateries and local businesses and near the university
There is a much smaller concept with containers called MSA Annex. Some other cool stuff nearby as well. Phoenix has The Churchill which is also a cool area with lots of art and culture.
That's so cool. I didn't know it was there. Freemont is my favorite place in Vegas.
Great video! Thanks for posting!
Very interesting place. Those container bridges must be an oven in August.
Thanks for the tour.
I'm happy to report that Container Park looks pretty great today if you revisit. I am concerned with the loss of Tony Hsieh that it's hard to know what the future holds. Then again , Paul Allen's estate is limping along too .
They need to do this in a lot of places!! I think they should do this some where in Colorado springs too!!!
Been here , October 2016....and it was pretty cool.
Looks like a cool place. I've got family in the Vegas area, and if I ever get down there to visit, I might have to check this place out too.
We love Oak and Ivy at Container park! Been there 7 times now. You gotta go back and visit at night. Also the playground is built with adults in mind you can play too. Cheers
Loved that gigantic playground 🤗
Never been to Vegas so never heard of this before, or that other places were doing this. I'll be visiting an outdoor mall this weekend in Clinton Michigan call Partridge Creek, first time there.

This place looks awesome! Almost like an artsy version of disney springs? I love that it was mainly small business.
6:55 Take... These broken wings... XD
Tony actually sold Zappos a few years ago to Amazon.
He's still the CEO.
Oh thank you. I did not know.
I knew about this place and have eaten here twice. I didn't know about neonopolis even though we were to Freemont Street every year for the last 6 years.
This reminds me of a town in a pS1 RPG. (That is a good thing by the way)
If I was a kid again the 1st thing I'd do is make a b line for the slide ,p
I was just there last month. That place is.... interesting
It is hot as BALLS there in summer bc of the metal so locals tend to only go there at night then. But it’s terrifying :)
Check out Dordoi Market in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Whole thing is made out of shipping containers.
This mall is a very creative use of something that would otherwise be scrapped.
I doodled in that doodle room
I'd love to shop there - what a cool concept that place is!
Interesting place. Last time I was around here was back in 2011 when I was long haul trucking. Pull the bicycle out of the truck cab and go for a ride!!
Awesome, is there a way to request a mall?
It’s a fun place there are always events going on and it’s almost always free. BTW the treehouse is for kids and adults
Me On Disney +: Gonna go Watch The New Episode of The Mandalorien.
Sees on Facebook, New Retail Archeology Video on RUclips.
PRIORITIES
The mall needs like a major store on the third store that makes people go up there for it. That would cause them to go to the other stores up there
Great mall!
That sticker that you placed yours next to said sksksksk. All those sk's mean stop keying and that is a relay typing definition.
What was that big orange container tower next to the kids play area? It looked like it had a patio on top of it.
Pretty cool. Do you have any kind of UV filter on your lens for protection? Most of those aren't coated and can cause the flare you are having.
I like lens flares 😂
Same! Especially the little ones. JJ Abrams flares are too much like a car's high beams. No thanks. I don't need to be reminded when I'm having a good time watching a film xDD
Add JJ joke here! 📹🎞🎬💻
Now I really wanna go to the oddity store!
This mall was built on the site of a former nightclub
Even as an adult, big playgrounds still excite me.
I'm 49 & spent about 3hr in a Orlando FL Dave & Busters 🕹🎮🍕🍟🍗🥤
God, I can't believe I've been in Vegas that long now. Phoenician by birth.
We got married in Vegas last June and visited. My wife, 4leafclover, has a video posted on it. I love downtown vegas
I like your videos :)
Toronto has a place just like this.
This would be a hit in Orlando FL. They have 1000s of business travel, tourists.
You should go to the Primm outlet mall, I don’t think it’s going to be around for long
I really wanna go there now it looks like a huge playground haha
Can you can tell us the name of the song so we can play it on our end? That might be a (stupid) way of getting around these things.
Looks quite the place off of the usual Las Vegas strip as well the booze and gambling that comes to mind. Notice on the upper levels you get to see the top of the Stratosphere Tower.
I'll be in vegas 2020 now I have something to look for this sounds and amazing and og stores? Sold
What was the music playing in the performance
oh man i can't wait till the pandemic's over. i really wanna go here
7:42 What song is this?
5:20 VSCO Girl wuz here.
ZING!! Michael Bay
probably don't don't need a new lens, just a polarizing filter.
The mall is struggling, a lot of small businesses came and went. Tony Hsieh lost $350mil of his investment on Downtown Project.
Most things down there will fail just like the Neonopolis - now that everything is closed I doubt most of this mall will open up when they finally allow businesses to reopen.

That ending footage was indeed awesome!
13:40 WHY THO?
I don't make alot of Money, but, by the end of the year I earmark atleast $500.00 to support small Retailers and Artists, I will definitely visit.
The 🦗 statue is not as wierd or creepy as the huge blue 🐎 statue by DIA 🛩 Denver CO. Fun fact; the horse sculptor DIED ⚰ making the structure. 😲
Doesn’t matter now my company bought Zappos a long time ago and now I guess the CEO is gone. So Besel’s probably will take over from now on.
