Hi Mark, I am always late for the party, by 7 days!!🙄 I hope you & your family had a wonderful 4th of July!! I NEVER tire of Moe, Larry, Curly and Shemp🤗😂😃
Hi Mark. Hope all is well. I had a question and figured I'd ask my favorite Stoogeologist... So in the first year or two of the shorts Moe had top billing as seen in the opening credits. Then in 1935 I believe, it changed to Curly, Larry and Moe. Has the reason for the change ever been mentioned somewhere? Was it Curly who demanded it or was it the Columbia suits idea?
Good morning cabbage head! :) What a fantastic question! I don't know. I notice that Shemp occupies Curly's spot once he moved into the team, so I don't think it was according to "draw". I'll throw it out to the other Mallet-Heads on the FB Stooge group and see if the Hoi Poli there can hold up their collective monocle and provide an answer.
Ok. The puddin' heads at 3 stooges.net say it was just to align the names in alphabetical order, then when Shemp came on board, they just dropped him in Curly's slot.
@@MarkBlairs-Stooge-Channel I see (or maybe I saw). So when they had Moe in top billing at first it was probably because they viewed him as the leader (or manager as he was the one to procure the original contract with Columbia). Well I guess Larry was fine with it either way. Nyak Nyak Nyak. Thanks and Happy Holidays.
