i always loved the juxtaposition between the incredibly smooth style and singing and the incredibly violent subject matter. also, that poor mic stand...
That's his band: Steve Jay, Jon Bermuda Schwartz, and Jim "Kimo" West. They have been his band since his first album in 1983, and are still his band today. They added Ruben Valtierra in '92.
30 years ago me and some friends performed this song for our high school prom. The irony of this anti-love song with all the couples in the audience was hilarious. I still remember working hard to memorize the lyrics even though we lip synced it. It was such a hit though, that we were asked to perform the following year where we did "You don't love me anymore". Classics. Thanks Al! (btw Al my kids miss new albums for songs from their generation)
Weird Al may be the single greatest lyricist of the late 20th and early 21st century! We saw him at the live in 2022 -- absolutely fantastic show. He told the story of how this song was "censored" by ABC in 1985 -- hilarious! ❤
A couple years ago I went on a cruise and jokingly married the cruise director, and, on the last day we invited him to karaoke where i used this song to "divorce" him, it was great
Might be cause of this (from Al's Facebook from about 2 hours ago) "About a year ago, my old record label replaced all my old music videos with upscaled HD/4K versions. Some folks really liked it, and some folks really didn’t. Well, I hate for anybody to be disappointed, so now BOTH versions are available on RUclips - take your pick!"
The CLASSIC! The song I sang in 4th grade talent show.... I LOVE YOU AL!!!!!!! IN 4K!!!!
Wait what 😭
How did that go? I want the full story!
When I was a kid, the line "I have to use the self-service pumps" went right over my head! 😂
Yeah, and notice the backup-dancers around 1:42...?

3 of the best backing vocals and dancers, one can wish for!

Me and my wife, our St-Valentin song is "Good enough for now" ;o)
i'm really pleased AL stayed pretty true to his hair, his taste in glasses, his sense of humour throughout it all
My Mom loved this song. And so do I.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, can capture the depths of human emotion quite like Al Yankovic!!!!
This is forever Al’s best song. From vinyl to streaming, Al is the man.
listened to this song on repeat during Valentine’s day!
You can write songs about heartbreak without stopping clowning around 😅. Only "Weird Al" Yankovic could do it 👍🏼.
Still a better love story than Twilight...
Best Weird Al original / non-parody. "So aggressive" as the kids would say today lol. Love the doo-wop trio.
Weird AL is god tier.

Underrated song. Glad to see it here.
Awesome break up song. It took 3 mics to get the point across. LOL
The world is a better place because of Al Yankovic.
Lol, love it. I didn't know this one. Perfect breakup song.
Great song
Had this whole song memorized by heart years before I knew what a real breakup felt like!
Like if you're old enough to know what a rolodex is.
I'm so happy he had a roledex. My aunt bought me one when I was 8. Had only 6 names in it😊
One of my absolute favorites from Al. I remember singing this with friends in the late 80s. I can still sing it, but you don't want to hear me sing.😳
Absolutely love it! I'm all for the visuals but the volcals are obviously amazing as well.
Wow, Al! I can’t believe how HD this one turned out!
Weird Al is such a great guy. If anyone hates him no one will agree with them.
learning this was made based on an actual breakup with Weird Al, I wonder how that person feels now?
My favorite!
This guy is pretty good. He should make an album or two!
I love this song

Perpetually stuck in my head ♥

...rolodex... omg. I'm old.

My favorite Al.

Shoe Bop Shoe Bop. Right in the noggin.

Might be cause of this (from Al's Facebook from about 2 hours ago)

Is that Victoria Jackson in those ripped pics?
I was wondering the same thing - was this filmed around the time of uhf?

Hello from Russia with VPN. The owner of the video has banned it from Russia
Not that I'm complaining... but why is Al posting all the videos again? Just to put them in HD?
HD version brought to you by Weird AI.
