ABBA got me through my 1st radiation treatment. Listened to this CD everyday for 5 weeks. Brain cancer messed with my head so I can hardly listen to music but Abba never bothered me.
@@michaelurlich6358 there still some great lyricists out there but there's no money in it. Record labels just want mass produced, empty, computer generated "music". Justin Furstenfeld, lead singer & lyricist of Blue October, writes some incredible music. Their entire catalog is one big story and each new album is like a new chapter of his life's book. Such a phenomenal band. Hozier is another great lyricist.
In the uk, you can’t go wrong with “come on Eileen” by Dexys midnight runners. People sing “Too-Rah Aye” at the top of their lungs and stamp their feet on the floor. Personally “On top of the world “ by Imagine Dragons is a great one to make you feel good.
I can't hear that song without thinking about the scene in Thelma and Louise where the Rastafarian blows ganja smoke into the trunk where the cop is being held captive. 😄
@@JosephFerguson-bi1ul 1972 was actually a terrible year. How the fuck did something as asinine as "My Ding-A-Ling" make #1? And there were some other songs which make me vomit: Me and Mrs. Jones; Sylvia's Mother; Troglodyte; Black and White
"What a Wonderful World" by Louis "Pops" Armstrong. It may have a slower beat than most, but it's pure optimism can make even a Grinch's heart grow three sizes.
Sweet Caroline has a bitter sweet connection with me. My dad always played this on road trip in our childhood form our home town to the state capital 760+ kilometres. He has been gone 14 now. May year later mum and I sang and danced to this at our local 'october fest' and I dedicated it to him at my wedding, dancing it with my 2 siblings, their spouse's, my four nephews and niece and my brand new hubby and mum of course. We belted it out. we had a ball.
in denmark we often hear sweet caroline at handball games, which are a very big sport here, and it always makes anyone sing a long. Good song and are glad to hear you can enjoy it in a new way
I had that song playing one day when my grandson was 4 and he started singing it. He loved it. He's going to be 8 this year and he's still asking me to play it. Listening to him sing it makes me smile everytime
That's exactly what I was thinking! I tried searching for it, but it didn't appear to be in the video at all! The entire list is invalid without that song!
Joy to the World by Three Dog Night, Funky Town By Lips Inc., and Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry. Also dozens more, but these came to mind immediately.
So many great songs listed and mentioned in comments. One of my favorites is Van Morrison Bright Side of the Road. But Brown Eyed Girl makes me smile (even though don’t have brown eyes).
“Don’t Stop ‘Till You Get Enough.” One of my 8 most favorite Michael Jackson songs. It’s been over 15 years since the King of Pop passed away, and we all missed him so much…

1. Wake Me Up? I almost lost my breakfast 2. Don't Worry Be Happy-came out in an election year and a DJ in College Station Texas had so much fun with the song. 3. Walking on Sunshine worked really great in a Michael J Fox movie 4. Dancing Queen-I missed out on disco, but I bought A LOT of ABBA albums 5. Hard to pick one Beach Boys song, but YES, this one, because of the sweet innocent idealism in the lyrics. This song made surfers think about stuff, man. 4. Celebration. YES. Still one of the greatest party songs ever. Instant party wherever it plays. 3. September. Eh. It's very good but not quite a smile-maker for me. 2. Don't Worry Be Happy. I was beyond wild and frustrated with my hubby, got into the car fuming at him after a 'blue from hell' and Pharrell Williams 'Happy' came on and 2.14 kilometres later I was in the best mood. I worked out I still loved him, frustrated with him, but loved him. The reason I know it was that distance is that is how far our house is from the main road. Love country life.
1983, High School years, I would wake up at 6 am and play Katrina and the Waves getting ready for school, while my mom from the kitchen: "Turn that volume down or you'll wake the whole building!!". I really miss those days!!!
A coulple of these ‘amuse’ me because i am not sure what population and what point in time. You are talking about. Walking on Sunshine was not universally loved when it was was released. Solid list though, gotta love Call Me Al and Wouldn’t It be nice And September♥️
For me the song "I will Survive" definitely makes me smile because it is like a theme song for me. I have survived a lot of different things in my life as I am sure most people have. We have all had something in our lives that we have survived not just a bad relationship but life in general.
“Sweet dreams (are made of this)” by The Eurythmics, “Man! I feel like a woman” by Shania Twain, “I’ve got friends in low places” by Garth Brooks & (bear with me) “Devil went down to Georgia” by Charlie Daniel’s Band. Believe it or not, I’m not the biggest fan of country music but grew up with it & thus have grown to adore a select few songs/artists over the years. Either way, these songs, plus many others, never fail to get me in a good mood & jamming to the music.
You know what would be awesome? If any video Mojo puts out containing music also came with the entire playlist of said music in the description so I don't have to search for individual songs after the fact.
I always smile when I hear, "I'd like to teach the world to sing" by The New Seakers. As well as "Lincoln Park Pirates" by Steve Goodman. All the songs you mentioned also make me smile.

Being an old guy, I Agree with your picks, brings back wonderful memories.
Thank you.
The power of Pharell’s Happy is such that the Weird Al parody Tacky has the same emotional effect.
How about build me up buttercup , never going to give you up, and many more,, hahaha
This is basically my playlist hahaha. Now I know how to respond when people ask me what music do I listen to mostly XD
A coulple of these ‘amuse’ me because i am not sure what population and what point in time. You are talking about. Walking on Sunshine was not universally loved when it was was released. Solid list though, gotta love Call Me Al and Wouldn’t It be nice And September♥️
Every Beatles song should be number 1!
_Twist and Shout_ especially.

Listening to The Bee Gees and George Michael making me happy. Love them forever. ❤❤❤❤
Where is YMCA by the Village People?
For me the song "I will Survive" definitely makes me smile because it is like a theme song for me. I have survived a lot of different things in my life as I am sure most people have. We have all had something in our lives that we have survived not just a bad relationship but life in general.
Yes, I agree! Great video!
Waka WAKA, you can call me AL, insist it blue, 9 in the afternoon, aren’t my faves but I loved ALL The others! Good job I’m a tough critic lol
Great picks! Finally, I'm starting to agree with your lists
I love Mr. Blue sky, the song was in Megamind, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 and The Super Mario Bros. Movie
"Lovely Day" by Bill Withers
All QUEEN! ❤
My Favorite Don't Stop 'Tit You Get Enough Michael Jackson
You know what would be awesome? If any video Mojo puts out containing music also came with the entire playlist of said music in the description so I don't have to search for individual songs after the fact.
Here Comes The Sun was used as the intro for the weather forecast growing up in Baltimore.
I was going to argue the list, then you absolutely nailed number 1. It's all subjective but that's the song I had in mind the whole video.
I always smile when I hear, "I'd like to teach the world to sing" by The New Seakers. As well as "Lincoln Park Pirates" by Steve Goodman. All the songs you mentioned also make me smile.
I ALWAYS enjoy “Here comes the Sun.”
The Beatles songs always lift me up.
Glad that all the songs are part of my happy playlist! ✨✨
Great list!! 😊
