Wow this is so great. I am so happy to see you using my new KLIM suit in this. An also happy to finally know how many pockets it has. I was not able to count it :) :) Best regards from ICELAND :) Gudni Thorbjornsson
Great video, just bought the Revit Dominator suit, it looks sooo much better than the bulky Klim. I have a 44 inch chest and 33 inch waist 90+ kg 182 cm. and got XL jacket and L pants, perfect fit. Also got the Revit Explorer Gtx boots with the BOA system, by far the best boot I ever had.
I have a Badlands A2 which is fantastic in a UK winter but recently rode for 4 days in Ireland in a Carlsbad suit. Not only did it keep me dry in 4 hours of Storm Betty (worst conditions I’ve experienced in 30 years of riding) but the cuff vents are a revelation. In Rev’It gear I find I am a size XL in the jackets vs L in Klim. Great review!
I have the Dominator and love it. Had hard usage during the autumn and winter and nothing has worn out or even looks close to wearing out. With a heated jacket you can ride into the 20’s with that jacket. I never actually wear it off-road as I use armor and Mosko gear since I’m more likely to crash off-road.
Awesome opener! I thought he was an angry Viking after he saw what the the Klim cost on his credit card! 😂 I wear Klim gear and love it. My wife likes the Rev-it. I would go to Rev-it but unless they’ve changed them I absolutely hate their back protectors. Hard to beat D30. Great comparison vid.
If you're looking for Klim style/quality in a Revit-like fit look at the Kodiak Jacket, which is Euro-cut. The second generation Kodiak is a little fussy looking, but the first gen Kodiak looked great. I have the first Gen Navy blue Kodiak jacket and have yet to find another which brings all points together in one jacket.
Enjoyed your comparison video and actually have the Revit gear. Actually the CEAAA is not as safe as the Helite Adventure airjacket in my opinion or any airvest/jacket combo. I recommend you guys give the Helite Adventure jacket a try. I transitioned to an airvest or equivilent a couple years ago due to the enhanced risk of being hit by a distracted auto driver and am glad I did. I've actually been ejected from the bike during a mishap while wearing the Helite Adventure coat and the airbag deployed as advertised and saved me from significant injury. Now It is rare that I ride without wearing that coat or an airvest. I'm also a big fan of Aerostich gear and love their AD1 pants.
Ditto on the airbag, mine is the Klim A1 Rally. I believe the AA or AAA rating is about abrasion resistance only, and these airbags, at least the Klim, has no abrasion resistance.
Don't forget about Klim's Gear Protection Guarantee. If you are in an accident that damages your gear to a large enough extent, Klim will replace it, as long as the crash wasn't your fault.
I just had my 3 year old Carlsbad jacket replaced after a 40mph T-bone. If my jacket had a Rev'it logo I would be paying out of pocket for a new one. There's nothing out of line with a company putting stipulations on a warranty/guarantee.
Klim is really good in heavy rain. Tried it this summer in Norway. I had just a T-shirt in 6 deg celsius and no problem to keep warm. But it's much important to talk about keeping your hands warm in the pockets , when you drive motorbike! 😂😂😂
Great Video...would really like to know how the two jackets compare in weight. I know the Badlands Pro A3 was made lighter than the stand BLP. Curious how the BLP A3 compares to the Dominator GTX3 in weight.
Klim all the Way in all conditions💪🏽 6 ouers in rain ! Not a singel drop inside. All the vents make it okey even in 30 degrees Expensive! Yes, But you have riding gear for 10 -15 years, and super good protection 😃
Besides differences in materials, the BLP A3 is based off of the older chassis from Klim. The "standard" Badlands Pro has an updated chassis and fitment is different and improved from the A3.
I wear my gear on the plane to avoid your United Airlines issue. I take d30 inserts and store them in my helmet along with my gloves. Helmet is in a bag. All vents open, jacket in overhead upon boarding. Never check items that would be difficult to replace if lost or delayed.
Nice review, very informational ! And what about the revit defender suit you weared a few videos ago ? As good as the dominator one ? Have good rides in iceland !
I’ve seen the marketing about the Mosko Moto pants and jacket. I like the in the boot pants. But neither have armor. Mosko Moto wants us to buy separate armor. Do you have any experience with this?
I do have klim badlands, AA safety! Awesome jacket and pants, only thing is the velcro everywhere, it should be buckles. Venting awesome. Actually in hardcore rain in montenegro it leaked even klim! Not wet to die, but I was wet
@@BretTkacs It would be interesting to see a video about that. Riding gear is expensive and I wonder how much is covered by insurance if it gets lost in transit.
@@BretTkacs you think these are ok in terms of safety given the terrain? I mean given your skill set m sure sandals would be fine, but just trying to compare those to Sidi adventure 2 and alpinestars Toucan.
Had a Revit Dominator 3 for 5 months and the protective print is peeling from both shoulders, its had around 2000 miles use and I dont carry a back pack. Not very impressed, hopefully i can exchange for a Badlands.
Just received the GTX 3 pants and I am not impressed. Storage is minimal and the zippers are difficult to open and close. The adjusters are difficult to operate, 2 hands needed. The hip protectors are pathetic at this price point. Interestingly the size difference between L and XL is absurd. I also tried the KLIM A3 pants and the fit is terrible. Like wearing a big diaper. Might just go back to Rukka, say what you want about Rukka, they have fit of their gear nailed down. The stuff just fits great.
Completely failed the most important aspect of these types of jackets. How water resistant are they? My Klim gear is the best I’ve ever had at being water resistant.
Klim is GTX pro and Rev'it! Is 3L GTX... Both are as water tight as could be expected but the Dominator has a storm collar that gives it an edge in that department
Fast and dirty. You missed several features on the Klim. But those of us who wear it know, so what the hey. I do really enjoy your channel. Good luck to you and be safe.
The Kilm looks like dorky motorcycle gear. It just doesn't fit well and it doesn't look comfortable. Especially the pants. No piece of Klim gear I've ever tried on WAS comfortable and everyone I know that wears Kilm is usually sweating a lot. And their gear is scratchy feeling. Their non-ADV gear is apparently better for not sweating, but I really don't want to pay that much for dirt gear. Or their massively overpriced ADV gear for that matter. I guess people just buy it because it's expensive so they figure it's really good. And they they go on rides and find out otherwise, but don't want to admit they wasted $2k on bad gear. RevIt looks like good gear, but they make nothign that fits me. Neither does Alpinestars or Dianese.
I’m a fan of revit Sand (3 and now 4). I have a Dominator set that sleeps under my bed. It’s so stiff and heavy I find it dangerous. Worst buy of my life.
I think you missed on the "getting in the pants" part (no pun intended). Snaps will hold forever, where velcro will get clogged and fail. Don't like the flap? Cut it. It's optional.
Both have elements I prefer... The AAA rating and pockets were a huge win for Klim, ventilation between the two were similar. Waterproof is about equal but the Revit storm collar is a win. Fit depends on the riders build. I also much prefer the ease of use for opening and closing vents in the Revit and pant pocket location
Wow this is so great. I am so happy to see you using my new KLIM suit in this. An also happy to finally know how many pockets it has. I was not able to count it :) :)

Agree with the sizing

Great video. I own the Klim Carlsbad but would go Revit for the tailored fit. The Klim is designed for the more ‘generously’ proportioned rider.
OMG. I cant believe it. We saw brets hair for the first time ever😂
You need to watch more of my videos 😉

in other words, in most cases, they won't replace it.
Also, this only applies to gear with Gortex. It doesn’t include any of their other stuff.

Can you film the klim in a brighter light environment? It's too dark so I still can't see the beauty of the klim.

Our 9hr international flight with United turned into 49hrs. Thats tough wearing MC gear 🫤
I left the Revit protection in my jeans and the scanner didn't like it. Had to take off my jeans in security and pull the armour out 😂
Which one is warmer during winter?
Nice review, very informational !
And what about the revit defender suit you weared a few videos ago ? As good as the dominator one ?
Have good rides in iceland !
The Defender has been my goto suit since 2014... Better protection (still only rated AA). But the Defender is MUCH better in hot conditions
It seems Zoolander had kids, and they ride motorcycles.
Great review.
Thanks.
👊🤣👍
If I were as fit as you, I could wear anything. …and you still need to give us a review of your flat cap collection!

Paul only used Mosko gear now. He likes the fit and separate armor
My Revit ADV jacket was toast after 3 yrs, My Klim BLP is 5 yrs old and still going strong. The Klim is heavy though.
Totally unrelated (but maybe not): where do you get you hats from and how they are called? Great vid BTW!
Nice boots Brett. Love mine and a good mix of support and walkability.
which ones were they??

Nicely done!
Did you get your gear back? Losing riding gear on the way to a riding trip sounds like a nightmare.
I didn't get everything but I did recover most of my riding gear
@@BretTkacs It would be interesting to see a video about that. Riding gear is expensive and I wonder how much is covered by insurance if it gets lost in transit.
Wow! ~$1500 for the Badlands and similar for the Dominator - jackets only. Then add another $1000 for the pants. That's just insane.
There is a reason I called them "premium suits". It's also why they are compared to each other. Same price point and similar qualities
@@BretTkacs I appreciate that - I just can't see them being that much better than something like the BMW Adventure suit.
Great video! Brett what boots are you wearing here??

Bummed to hear that
Would probably be 12 dollars to have a seamstress put new Velcro on the wrists. You know, after 5 years of owning it you might need that.
Worth noting Revit gear, in my experience those trouser and side adjusters aren’t worth their money - as they undo themselves so fast.
I think rider build matters a lot with the Rev'it! Gear. I have not had any issues with them coming loose.
These are $1200 jackets. I didn’t even price the pants lmfao.
$1k

I focus on the differences in the suits rather than a list of features easily found on the websites
Or both
And the price comparison is…?
They are matched dollar for dollar (MSRP)
Klim all Day Long
Bret, you didn't talk about the KLIM kidney belt! Fixes a lot of the issues on fit and movement you mentioned.
Both suits come with a built in belt. I skipped several features on both suits that were the same and focused on what was different.
