  • I present to you a video in which I show you how to install the MANUAL CHAIN TENSIONERS TO HONDA VTR1000 ENGINE, this work must be done on this motorcycle because it protects the engine from damaging the valves. The original automatic tensioners will eventually stop working, which will cause the riot chain to jump and thus destroy the engine, then the repair will cost a lot of money.

    That's quite a clean bike.
    Always easier to work on when they're clean I find.
    Best regards from the UK

    Awesome video! Definitely makes me feel a little more confident doing the job myself. I belive my timing is 180° off and after 6k rpms it starts striggling to continue climbing rpms. Iv read this is common on this bike and many people have had this issue....my question is what exaclty is 180 degrees out? And how will i know what to look for?

      180 degrees will make your engine blow up , if timing gumps more than one tooth is will be valves damage . you need to check marks ond crankshaft and camshafts . check this to compare www.manualslib.com/manual/1140430/Honda-Vtr1000f.html?page=145

    I just bought a 98 super hawk it has the tensioner failure noise I changed the oil there’s very little metal in the oil but still runs do you think I’d be fine with just replacing the tensioners and checking the timing? Or what steps should I take??

    • @motocraft180
      @motocraft180  Месяц назад +1

      All depends what mileage your bike got, if is low than doing just tensioner is fine.

    One question : how did u manage to bring 1 tuff back from the sproket ? And i have a problem with my bike , when its idle ist not working properli the motor , its stais betwen 1.1k and 800 rpm

    • @motocraft180

      Just check the marks if they align, if they off you need take tensioner off, than its chain slack enougf to turn cam shaft in the right position. If you got timing off than engine will not work properly. If timing jumps more than one teeth than is bigger problem as valves can be bend. First of all chceck the marks on crank shaft and cam shaft.
      If they ok than you got problem with carbs.

    Du hast gerade einen Kettenspanner von Higgens getauscht, der stellt sich automatisch nach und ist so gebaut dass die Kette nicht überspringen kann, selbst wenn die Feder bricht.
