not really a "you haven't saved in a while" bit for me... but damn god it happened to me when i was still stuck on Sephirot in KH2... i had tried like 50 times at that point, i was about to strike the final blow... and literally when the Keyblade was about to strike him and take away that last bit of health the power goes out... biggest rage moment in my gaming history

Lmao the no pause in bloodborne, That’s scary how accurate that was! I was in the middle of a boss fight and I had to let my brother in from school, and he’s spamming the doorbell and the dog is going nuts, and i couldn’t just let him sit there for for like the next 10 mins so.... I got up with my controller in hand and just mashed the dodge button, luckily I was facing probably the least aggressive boss, The witch of hemwick, and I run all the way down the stairs quickly unlock the door sprint all the way back up still mashing the dodge button and I somehow survived! And I ended up beating the boss it’s one of the easier ones if you know how it works and it was my second playthrough so yeah... that was very accurate lol :D
When I have to do something and I cant pause I always just toss myself off the nearest surface to try to make myself laugh. Something about doing it to myself and not trying to fight it makes me feel better
I had a similar problem in Turok Evolution, minus the not saving part since the game autosaves after finnishing a level. When I was playing through the levels in the suspended city, I encountered a boss; a styracosaurus with a pair of machine guns mounted to its sides. The thing is, I had no idea it was a boss until I found out that it will get up after you'll "kill" it several times, which occurred after it dropped to the ground and I saw it get back up (I though a second one was spawned in at first when it flung me across the arena because I payed no attention to it after seeing it start the falling animation because there were other enemies that needed to be taken care of). So not only was it a surprise boss, but it was also one with multiple stages and required me to use the heaviest weapons in my arsenal to the point of nearly running out of ammo for said weapons.
@@adrianposkonka8331 Parasite Eve has a point where you haven't been able to save for a long while before a save point ("Are you really reeeeally sure you don't want to save???"). A bit of a late reply, but here’s one: this was about last year, and I was playing BO3 Zombies at a friends house, Der Esiendrach, it was our 3rd, maybe 4th attempt and we had just arrived at the Corrupted Keeper boss. My friend had the storm bow and a pack a punched Dingo with Blast Furnace, while I had the Packa-punched Haymaker, with blast furnace as well, and a pack a punched ray gun. We decided that he was going to focus on the keeper while I tried to handle the spawning Zombies and panzer soldats. The second the fight started and he shot an arrow, it froze. The arrow was stuck in mid-air. Then it booted us back to the menu screen. The servers had disconnected and all our progress was lost. Now, when it comes to COD Zombies, me and my mates usually just see how long we can last, we even turn off the audio and just listen to music. It’s 10PM after a hard days work. You’ve come home, did all the house chores, put the kids to bed and have settled in to play your favorite souls-borne. You’re invested now, no distractions, and are facing some boss. When I was fighting the Adamantoise in FFXV I was so close, I’d been fighting for what felt like days but I had to go check on something so I paused it, however it turned out I hadn’t actually hit the button so when I got back I was treated to a lovely game over screen
When you're in the midst of a hard fought fight, you're at low HP so is the Boss and your Ulti/special/limitbreak comes up and you know the fights over.... until the move hits and you didn't realize you swapped targets to a mook on accident. Complete heartbreak.
Old school RPGs when you input all your team commands and then you and the enemy take turns based on some sort of speed/agility/dex stat. Once you know the sequence you base your strat around the order of everyone's turn, but then the boss "cheats" and goes early throwing off your carefully planned sequence of commands. The critical "heal everybody right before the boss takes it's turn" now happens after the bosses turn in which they kill most, if not all, of your team and the giant heal is wasted or doesn't happen at all.
Pop: two thrones. Your facing the vizir and you've spent 200 attempts learning how to dodge the floating boulders, how to time his attacks and your counter attacks, time the quick time executions perfectly, and masterfully navigate the floating platforms while avoiding his attacks so you can get to the last platform to deliver the final blow. You're there, you press jump and then... You fail to press left click. The intensity and excitement somehow paralyzes your right index finger. I wanted to pull my teeth out in that moment.
You've spent hours under leveled but unable to go back and level up due to an awkward save state trying to beat the boss. You've learned its tactics and are nearly about to beat it... when you significant other wants to have a conversation RIGHT THEN AND THERE.
When failure takes you to the start again, but the game makes sure that it plays that unholy long dialogue scene just before the fight because obviously the game assumes that you just will not have remembered any of it the first time around.
Rob is definitely the king of entertainment on RUclips, can't wait until exams are over, want to play Death Stranding and watch all the Friday features again.
When your controller's battery is so low that your button presses are delayed. Happened in the last few chapters of Detroit Become Human, I've never been this stressed playing a game before
after being beaten a gazillion times and you finally beat the boss with everything you got, healing items and all, and you jump for joy and shout you victory "hurrah!" only to realize there is a second form/phase of the boss and being killed while you panic like an idiot to comprehend what's going on... the feels men... the feels...
> Setting trap for sleeping monster. > Leeroy Jenkins thwacks it, hoping to land a killing blow. > Monster wakes up and targets LJ, who had also neglected to heal. > Quest failed.
Once in Vigilante 8. There's wrenches in garages etc. scattered about that repair your car. Once when at a sliver of health, I finally found a wrench. I'll always remember the sight of the wrench floating mere pixels away floating literally right above the hood of my car tauntingly as the screen faded to black. *Sigh.
Since it is the legendary spooktober, I’ve decided to compile a list of video games moments that had me checking my underwear: 1: The Genocide Ending / RefuseTo Destroy The World option - Undertale 2: Tidal Wave Boss - Transformers Armada 3: Giratina Appears - Pokemon Platinum (I know it isn’t PlayStation) 4: Scissorman Approaching - Clock Tower 5: The ending FMV/Squall on LSD - Final Fantasy 8 6: The Flood Appear - Halo CE (Another non PlayStation choice I have sinned) 7: Everything in DDLC - DDLC (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON’T PLAY IT)
Fighting Ultimecia, my three kids gathered around on the floor with the dog, the suddenly when she’s almost dead, the end is in sight, and we hear a sizzle, a pop and a yelp just before the screen goes blank. All the while the kids were cheering, the dog was chewing through the controller cord. The dog was okay, but the PS1 was fried.😩
Losing to a random mob during the fight hurts me. Not like those where the enemy sends dozens of smaller fiends anyway, where they are actually part of the fight rhythm, but when they are just like a random left over enemy, who wouldn't be a danger usually... Even more hurting when you were dominating the actual boss more or less to that point.
One of my friends back in high school beat those Weapons. The Ruby & Emerald. I had to watch it. Forever. If I recall, Emerald took around 20 Knights of the Round, some Bahamut Zeroes, & a couple others like Neo-Bahamut. It was pretty insane
The controller running out of power in the midst of a boss battle’s final stages is what caused me to break the controller from rage. The game in question was Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, with Peace Walker on the last 1/10 of health.
When the boss reapplies some kind of temporary buff that forces you on the defensive when they were one hit away from dead and you just can’t get that last hit. Vergil 3 from DMC3 did that to me many times when I first played.
the worst is when you're playing a online game and you have to go to the bathroom and it happens to be when you're in the middle of the match and you're doing very good.
In games, often JRPGs, when you kill the boss but for plot reasons they unleash a final attack during their death. Not always an attack, sometimes damage from them exploding. Had a game over from this a few times.
The first one happened to me with Sigrun on god of war !. Got carried away while i was on a roll. We ended up hitting each other at the same time for the last spec of health each. I could see it say press R3 to rip her wings off and finish her off. But she had killed me too. I might have actually cried
Might not be that common, but the one that gets me occasionally is are the bosses with a time limit and you run out of time when they have just a sliver of health left.
When you fought a monster in Monster Hunter and you run out of time. It rarely happens since 50 minutes are more than enough. But sometimes the first encounter with a new monster can end up like this
I dunno, I think the worst is when the boss wrecks you moments before victory because they have a few ridiculously overpowered attacks that go off on RNG and they decide to have two of the most powerful in a row and they're basically impossible to survive. Oldschool RPG bosses like Ragu O Ragula loved stuff like that--you couldn't just beat him, you had to get LUCKY to beat him.
Probably one of the most annoying ways to loose a boss fight is when u spend hours and hours learning attack patterns and mechanics when all of a sudden the boss pulls out something like a behemoths enraged state in dauntless(just an example) and all of its attack patterns an attack speed change and u have to learn a whole bunch of new attack patterns and then u forget the old ones and it just gets really annoying knowing that you can and should be able to beat the boss but here’s just so much to remember so u end up forgetting hours of strategy and planning Anyone who faced scorcth stone helion for the first time knows what I’m talking about

When the boss is at its “you’ve won, kill me already” stage and you fail to jump over a gap or fall off a cliff
Hello you've caught me thinking about how awesome rob pearson is
You've spent hours under leveled but unable to go back and level up due to an awkward save state trying to beat the boss. You've learned its tactics and are nearly about to beat it... when you significant other wants to have a conversation RIGHT THEN AND THERE.
Running out of battery during a Destiny raid... 😥
Falling off a cliff before delivering the final blow
When you’re paying more attention to the bosses health and not your own
I fought ruby weapon one time
Never again
> Setting trap for sleeping monster.
> Leeroy Jenkins thwacks it, hoping to land a killing blow.
> Monster wakes up and targets LJ, who had also neglected to heal.
> Quest failed.
There's nothing more heartbreaking than missing the last lightning bolt in Final Fantasy X after successfully dodging 199 lightning bolts.
When the power goes out and you've just about beaten the boss.
*Sigh.
Since it is the legendary spooktober, I’ve decided to compile a list of video games moments that had me checking my underwear:
1: The Genocide Ending / RefuseTo Destroy The World option - Undertale
2: Tidal Wave Boss - Transformers Armada
3: Giratina Appears - Pokemon Platinum (I know it isn’t PlayStation)
4: Scissorman Approaching - Clock Tower
5: The ending FMV/Squall on LSD - Final Fantasy 8
6: The Flood Appear - Halo CE (Another non PlayStation choice I have sinned)
7: Everything in DDLC - DDLC (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON’T PLAY IT)
Fighting Ultimecia, my three kids gathered around on the floor with the dog, the suddenly when she’s almost dead, the end is in sight, and we hear a sizzle, a pop and a yelp just before the screen goes blank.
Made me recall my first years when WoW started... So much lost time.
Hahaha the bit with Dave. “Ah yes first, I must stow my hatchet”
I feel the level of acting skill is always improving in these. You guys could almost do films at this point.
The Demon wall in FF7 was the boss that kept effing me up
It was like that for me in FFX with Seymour. And the boss before that.
the worst is when you're playing a online game and you have to go to the bathroom and it happens to be when you're in the middle of the match and you're doing very good.
Brilliant video as always! You deserve a medal for thinking of new ideas for these videos every week and nailing it each time!
But sometimes the first encounter with a new monster can end up like this
This deserves a like purely just because of Dave talking about football for a minute straight.
Man, that Emerald Weapon story sounded really tough and personal...
You know the pattern.
You know what to do.
Your're not worried at all and you got this.
You hit the wrong button.
You fail.
Probably one of the most annoying ways to loose a boss fight is when u spend hours and hours learning attack patterns and mechanics when all of a sudden the boss pulls out something like a behemoths enraged state in dauntless(just an example) and all of its attack patterns an attack speed change and u have to learn a whole bunch of new attack patterns and then u forget the old ones and it just gets really annoying knowing that you can and should be able to beat the boss but here’s just so much to remember so u end up forgetting hours of strategy and planning
Anyone who faced scorcth stone helion for the first time knows what I’m talking about
