'The Last Wish' from The Witcher 3 was my favourite. It was so beautifully written and contained story beats and references from Sapkowski's short story/novella of the same name. Other favourite 'The Witcher 3' side quest include Carnal Sins and Reason of State (I really hated Radovid and Djikstra.) There is a side quest that’s featured in both Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami 2 that always hooks me with just how much fun it is: the cabaret club tournament! It goes like this: in Sotenbori, you come into contact with a cabaret club that is really, REALLY down on its luck. All of its business is being stolen by a group of clubs working together, and your job is to reinvigorate this one to drum up new business. This causes you to get challenged by the owner/s of the competition, and if you manage to earn more money than them in a single night, then you advance to the next round and get a new Platinum level star hostess for your trouble. Ultimately your goal is to become the number 1 club in Sotenbori/Japan, and take down the guys stealing business from other clubs. What makes this sidequest so addictive is a variety of factors. You can customize your Platinum hostesses, you micromanage each of the night’s six tables to ensure that each guest has a great time and spends as much as possible, and you get to up your Platinum girls’ stats in one-on-one conversations. You get some cool rewards and funny scenes, and it’s an excellent way to earn money. There is also the Real Estate sidequest for Kazuma in Y0, but who doesn’t prefer a good party to real estate? You can easily sink hours upon hours into this tournament, and enjoy every second of watching your club literally rain money under a disco ball.

Delsin Rodent's Revenge, the side quest so awesome that we'll forget everything else Playstation Access has to offer...
Not enough Delsin these days.
Into The Frozen Wilds - The Forge of Winter.
That was so good.
I also like the one where you drain the sewer and listen to "The Last Girls On Earth."
@@bobbysworld281995
Me too, I really liked the Oseram man you meet in the dam.
How about 7 hard first bosses?
Well deserved Nr1. I can remember this quest still, from playing the Ps3 version of Skyrim when it came out. Truly memorable.
aaaahhhh please someone needs to tell the maker of mass effect that they need to make a mass effect collection from 1-3 for ps4, i sadly cant play on my ps3 anymore, i would love to play mass effect again
Guys your content is great, and you do it from week to week without fail. It even made me to buy PS4 after being a PC gamer for more than 15 years. Thanks and keep on great work. Salute from Bosnia :)
thnx for like ;)
I love how hawk has the ogre from dragon age in his vault, I lost it when I saw it.
The side quests in Star Ocean the 2nd Story are by far my favorite. i just loved going thru town pick pocketing every one
the Persona friendships are my favourite part of the games
That Yakuza side quest with the producer was hillarius
The Return to Crookback Bog ended badly for me with the Bloody Baron hanging himself :(
At list the children survived...
@@amitr24242 yeah at least the children survived but it was still sad
@@James-gj8rn yeah, i remember that i tried to save both but the third outcome only save the tree spirit and ana a baron, the children still died but at list the baron's family is alive so its not all bad.
'The Last Wish' from The Witcher 3 was my favourite. It was so beautifully written and contained story beats and references from Sapkowski's short story/novella of the same name. Other favourite 'The Witcher 3' side quest include Carnal Sins and Reason of State (I really hated Radovid and Djikstra.)
From other games, I loved any quest with Hamish Sinclair in 'Red Dead Redemption 2'. Hamish is such a amiable and well-written man and the relationship between Arthur and Hamish is simply invaluable.
If a game has a fishing minigame I can always forget the main storyline and spend days just fishing.
Ocarina of Time lol
Farcry 5, rdr2
Final fantasy
Persona 4, Legend of Heroes xD
@@hathus5536 isn't ocarina of time's fishing notoriously bad?
Gwent. Just Gwent. So many hours spent gathering the full decks. I remember a quest were your dwarf buddy offers you gold, or Gwent cards as a reward. I instantly ignored the gold and demanded the cards.
But also Persona 5, took me 90 odd hours
Gwent is the sole reason I did my second playthrough :D
Yup Gwent is the best game ever and the side RPG is good not that good but ok
Yakuza 0 is a masterpiece
Elder Scroll Oblivion’s Dark Brotherhood quest deserved a mention
I really liked The Last Wish sidequest from The Witcher 3.
He could've filled this whole list with Witcher 3 side quests.
Also, I think calling any of the loyalty missions in ME2 "optional" is cheating. Because we all know what happens to disloyal characters in the suicide mission by now.
That said, I do love that quest.
Kevin Worytko remind me of what goes on in that quest. Recognise the name but can’t put the name to the actual quest.
@@brojennan5758 You go with Yennifer to track down the djinn to separate your fate from hers. Not too short, a nice boat ride, good quips. An overall nice story.
The Evil Within 2 has some fun side-quests that get you invested in the few non-hostile NPCs you encounter. Especially with Sykes. You first got to save him then leads to some debatable ends.
Damn you didn't mention how cool the director was in that yakuza 0 sidequest. I would have picked the Michael jackson sidequest for the list.
I love you guys. Thank you for the lovely content. Cheers from El Paso TX.
Does a whole other game count as a sidequest? haha
Like, a game is so good, I'm not always 'ready' or 'able' to play it emotionally, so I play something else thats super casual that requires no thinking or emotional investement haha
Hi guys, I just remembered how we used to rent games in the 80's and 90's and early 00's (I believe). Maybe you should talk about it. Just the idea of renting games in a store is weird nowadays
Triple Triad (FFVIII) and Chocographs (FFIX).
Chocographs were so fun to find
Along with Hunt and Rare Game (FFXII). All time favorite.
@@bu773rkim i think killing tiamat at the end of the rare game quest took as long to as the entire quest. break damage limit would have been nice...
Yep those are the side quests I got lost in... 25 hours into FFVIII and still at garden because I got side tracked with triple triad.
@@Duochanfan how?? get the cards from guy in hall on 2nd floor, play kid running around for minimog, then play guy at front gate for slightly better cards, then play guys at cafeteria for quistis card and that should be done in less than an hour!! good tip is play card queen in balamb first till she uses diff rule...that SHOULD make the next game from npc a win-all from that point on..at least that way you can get the zell card and ifrit card by then...then before leaving for dollet speak to Cid in his office to get Diablos lamp to beat and get Diablos card and play Cid for seifer card!!! Watts won't have a chance to keep Angelo card by then...shouldn't be 25 hours tho...
What about GTA San Andreas!? Taking over all the Gang Territories is at least a 15 hour endeavor.
obtaing all side business missions too...don't get me started with import/export without cheating!!!!
There is a side quest that’s featured in both Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami 2 that always hooks me with just how much fun it is: the cabaret club tournament! You can easily sink hours upon hours into this tournament, and enjoy every second of watching your club literally rain money under a disco ball.
platinum trophy achieved for Persona 5 after 252hours. In my opinion time well spent. When Persona 5 Royals releases, time for take 2
Jubel Miah yesssss 😍😍 my favorite game ever!!!!!
I missed out on the plat, all I needed was to beat the twins in the ng+ fight, I was in the middle of grinding up a team to get ready for it and ended up having to leave it for a week. Somehow during that week my hard drive corrupted and I lost all of my data. 200 hours down the drain I couldn't bring myself to restart the game until recently
@@Trainerlynx i did that on my third play through.
Go and fight the reaper on a flu season to level up to 99 and use satanael to beat them with ease
@@john_7000 mine too
Trainerlynx woow that sucks!!! Thank god I never experienced save corrupted, thank u for telling me all this but I was just saying that I’m happy that rob mentioning p5, I love this game so much everytime I see someone mentioning it I jump that why I comment to u
I was a master summoner/conjuration in Skyrim, so this is my setup, spell sword with summon two at a time, and I gave the staff to my follower. Sooo things got busy in a small room, we are talking five people on my side. All dremora lords or any combination you can imagine going down at once.
I'm just here for the Witcher 3. It could be the whole list, the sequel and the 10 year revival...
Excellent list, Rob. So many that I directly relate to. Enjoy your weekend, all!
Let's be honest who didn't see skyrim and ff7 coming b4 he even said anything lol
You and your editors command on humor is incredible
Yakuza has some of the best side missions!!
Sheogorath's quest in Oblivion was quite amusing. Flaming German shepherds!
TBH you could put every skyrim sidequests on this list.
Legit! Funnily enough I just started playing Skyrim again yesterday haha.
Did anyone else see Hollie in the new cyberpunk deep dive that went live today? She introduced the stream and then discussed certain processes with some of the people that worked on the game. Really nice to see that she’s doing ell and she looks to be having a lot of fun.
0:59 "an abandoned house"
*shows tent*
I suppose a tent could be a house for a homeless person...
A night to remember was my first visit ever to Markarth, mind-blowing.
Same here! ... can _STILL_ remember that disoriented feeling of almost vertigo as I stepped out onto the ledge outside the temple and being genuinely stunned for a while by the sight of the carved rock and waterfalls ... incredibly excellent and memorable gaming moment 🙌
me: closing my eyes mouthing “hello you’ve caught me...”
the video: no
The thing I like about Persona 5 is that unlike the previous games, upgrading the social links makes you and your party members stronger.
There's the obvious stuff like Ultimate Personas but also the small lifesaving stuff like the spontaneous status ailment or hitting a special move if your MC misses an enemy.
I swear the crookback bog questline was apart of the main story as it had to do with Ciri? And it helps you know where she went
With Witcher 3, I don't even know which is main quest and which is side cuz they're all so damn well written and unique.
Crookback Bog was part of the main quest, but RETURN to Crookbag Bog was a side quest where you go back with the Baron to save Anna.
Oooohhh I didnt see the return part I thought they were just talking about the whole quest haha
Dark Brotherhood questline in Oblivion/Skyrim will always be my favorite side-questline. But just Skyrim/Oblivion in general when it comes to this, I have quite literally spent 200+ hours on each playthrough completely ignoring the main quest and only focusing on side quests hahaha.
Pocket circuit from Yakuza 0 was the best
I just can’t imagine him without the cyberpunk feel to him, for ex:the voice, his cyberpunk voice is so ridged it’s perfect but here is like a melody..I loved his cyberpunk character...you as well🥺stay awesome
i had fun with the "baba yaga" side quest on the rise of tomb raider
The boss figth was weird lol
Weirdest boss fight ever. And it was a dlc actually...
The Thieves Guild questline in Oblivion. I just joined to be able to fence my stolen goods, but then there were those special heists and then...well, I didn't need sleep, I needed answers.
Skyrim could have been everything on this list but The Witcher does have it beat with Return to Crookback Bog, That quest is possibly the best quest in RPG gaming.
