Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) Texture measures using Sentinel-1 in SNAP

- A co-occurrence matrix or co-occurrence distribution (also referred to as gray-level co-occurrence matrices GLCMs) is a matrix that is defined over an image to be the distribution of co-occurring pixel values (grayscale values, or colors) at a given offset. Whether considering the intensity or grayscale values of the image or various dimensions of color, the co-occurrence matrix can measure the texture of the image. Because co-occurrence matrices are typically large and sparse, various metrics of the matrix are often taken to get a more useful set of features.
in this video, we've shown you sentinel-1 image pre-processing and applying GLCM to your images. all the processing has been applied in SNAP software which is a powerful software for Sentinel images processing.

Thanks for this tutorial
You're welcome 😊
Very good
Thanks
I think speckle filtering should not include in the processing steps of GLCM..
What is your reason?
Very nice tutorial
Many many thanks
👍👍👍
Thank you
Very nice video sir. How can we use these texture bands in ArcGIS for parameter extraction
you're welcome
To extract texture from images in ArcGIS, you can write the formula of any type of texture and apply it to the image
is it possible to measure glcm texture using sentinel 2?
Hello
The exact same texture cannot be extracted
Textures related to Sentinel 2 images can be extracted
Can I aplly GLCM in spectral images?
Yes you can
Good day, sir. May I inquire about the possibility that GCLM may be used as a predictor in soil moisture estimation utilizing the random forest algorithm?
Yes we can
@@rsgis6997 Hello again, sir. I'd want to know how to get the vh and vv backscattering data to a certain place on the map, please, sir. I appreciate your response in advance.
Good day sir,if I have two I images that need to be GLCM, do I need to stitch them together first or to do them separately and then stitch them together? If stitching is possible, is it after the Convert bands to db operation?
Hello
Good time
It is better for you to do the mosaic operation first
Next, let's apply the GLCM operation
Yes
