MTA New York City Bus : New Flyer Articulated Bus 1008, Then & Now....

I don't have any original videos of the original 1008, so the renumbered 1008 will be in use for this video.
Funny enough, both 1008s are both New Flyer buses, but extremely different in many ways. New Flyer D60HF 1008 seen here, was originally numbered as 5475(I probably should've added that to this video too), which is now the number for a 2018 Nova Bus LFS Artic. The original 1008 retired sometime in 2010, when the 1200-series Nova Bus LFS Artics were making their debut. This version of 1008 had a Detroit Diesel Series 50 DDEC engine with an Allison B400R6 transmission.
New Flyer XN60 "Xcelsior" CNG Artic 1008 is one of the newest buses in the MTA fleet, it entered service this past Summer and made its debut as a shuttle bus for the 5 subway line in The Bronx. It made its regular in-service debut on the Bx12 +Select Bus Service+ route. After a month or so, it hit service on the route it was originally supposed to run on, the Bx6 +Select Bus Service+. This version of 1008 has a Cummins ISL-G NZ engine with a ZF Ecolife 6AP1700B transmission.

There is a bus number in a 1999 form and in a 2018 form and the 2018 form bus is the selectbuservice and the 1999 bus form is the one with a rear door and front door
