I doubt that there would be different models and behaviour for different breeds. They didn’t do it with the cats so the dogs probably wouldn’t have it either

Every time a dog does the digging, the block should turn from grass to a dirt block, the same for farmland and dirth path.

I think adding a bed for them to hide all the stuff would be cool, then you can review what they have collected without clogging your inventory.

I’d love if Mojang updated the vanilla wolf a bunch, like updating its textures, buffing it’s damage and health and increasing its size because right now it’s the size of a medium sized dog while real wolves are the size of small horses
I really like this and think it's very cute! Though, I feel the dogs may be too slow? It'd be nice if they also had a running mechanic of some kind.

@@lourila Reminds me of the Horse Mod that eventually made it into vanilla that was part of a larger animal mob pack, where the horses could be bred to specific super-horses like demon horses, fairy horses, pegasai, undead horses, etc.

A few cool features for the dogs would be have certain breeds able to perform different tasks. So a husky would be able to pull a sled or wagon (which horses should be able to do in Minecraft) bloodhounds could lead you other animals, border collies herd sheep or farm animals to you, maybe even have a breed known for being guard dogs to scare away certain mobs but no attack them. The list is endless and I love it

Maybe it’s because dog breeds look so different, to the point where they don’t even look like the same species sometimes. So they’d have to make multiple models instead of recoloring one

Oh man, I LOVE that "bringing loot to you" mechanic. How is this not an official thing yet?
Also, I'd like to see this become a more complete mod, maybe with more breeds.
Some things that I'd like to see:
- Huskies
- Yorkies!!!
- Austrailian shepherds (Aussie dogs!)
- A black-and-gold alt color for the shiba inus
- Dog toys! Maybe you could give them the ability to grant temp buffs to the dogs, perhaps at the cost of the toy losing its buffing ability after a set number of uses?
- This one might be a bit far fetched, but maybe add the ability to create wolfdogs through breeding? Same mechanics as a dog, but with the general look of a wolf! (Though maybe give them a somewhat darker color to help differentiate them from regular wolves.)
I mean they will add the Allay soon which will bring in items. Tho I would love having a dog companion as well!

I love how every pet has a unique feature:
Wolves and foxes attack.
Cats scare creepers.
Parrots warn you of other mobs.
Axolotls can go underwater.
And SystemZee's dogs can bring items.
Wolves also scare skeletons
So what's the function of the axolotl?

Cats also bring you items, they have to be standing up when you sleep. Foxes also pick stuff up, parrots also dance, wolves scare skeletons, Axolotls attack hostile mobs.
Mojang should seriously do this! They should also make it impossible to hit your dog/wolf because a lot of the time we accidentally them.

Heres an idea, you could shift click an item on a dog and theyd begin tracking for objects that are related to the item, e.g. gunpowder would get them to track the nearest creeper

different breeds of dogs could have different uses, like in real life, for example a schnauzer would bark anytime there's an unfamiliar monster/player nearby, turning it into a decent alarm system

And corgis could scout out valuable items by digging because they are royal dogs
And Chihuahuas could fit in the new bundles and you could carry them around in them

I would love to see more dog types like Labrador retriever or golden retriever, buuldogs, rodvailers, huskys and basicaly bigger dog types. Also, there should be a point where after breeding enough wolves you will get a dog. As a sidenote, more types of wolves like brown, gray, black etc. are esential to actualy breed wolves into dogs.

Even as someone who’s scared of dogs in real life, that Minecraft Dachshund is so cute and I need one
Here’s a concept: stray dogs can either be spawned naturally in villages or can be bred. Say you have two tamed wolves. If you only had one, and bred it with a wild one, you’d get a tamed wolf offspring. If you breed two wild wolves, you get a wild wolf offspring. If you breed two tamed wolves, you get a domesticated dog.
This sounds like a cool idea!

It's be cool if this came in 1.19 with archeology! They could work like the do in this vid, but they dig into dirt like how the player uses a brush. Although, the fetch mechanic is kinda like the allay so if it did get added itd need to be changed.

if this was in game people would make automatic mutton/wool farms using a wild wolf and a sheep spawner and just have their dogs run around and get the loot
also, they need a pets update, including hampsters, dogs, geckos maybe, possibly even raccoons.

Archery and Alchemy
- Fletching Table has a use and you can get tipped arrows easier
- Craft crossbows with spyglass for scoped
- Ability to enchant bows with mending and have infinite shots without needing arrows for XP
- SystemZee's alchemy concept video
- Dye target blocks different color (maybe not since Mojang Studio say only wool and leather dyed)
- Quiver that holds infinite arrows instead of inventory spaces or offhand
- New villager archerer that sells archery items
- New villager alchemist that sells alchemy items
even an Random NPC like Wandering trader to sell items like petshop
and add a bit more fantasy like creatures

The more pet mods I see, the more I realise there should be an enchantment that cancels out your weapon’s ability to hit your pets

I wish there was a “guard” options like for your mobs or items like for anything from a grass block to cows or sheep. Like also collars can be leveled up like tools on a enchantment table like higher level is more training the higher level the more things they can do or more space they can guard or more items they can bring or like low level dogs can only guard blocks or chickens while higher level dogs can guard like cows. Also like tricks maybe? Like ctr+D and then certain keys do different tricks. Also if it was up to me, to control dogs you would need to make a collar like a saddle they can be tamed and follow you with bone but to sit guard or do tricks you need a collar. If I chose it it would be 7 wool around and gold ingot bottom middle maybe like a bone in the middle? And for guarding you would probably select the area like you select for world edit maybe with special like dog posts in the corners of the area you want guarded. Or like open there inventory and theres like a dog tag or something you click the corners with. Also definitely saddle bags for dogs and armor.
What about a dog whistle for selecting areas for your dog(s) to guard
