Loved your reaction, so you got a new subscriber! Hope this helps a little : I saw a world crumbling down in front of me I saw my neighborhood become a building site for my own good
I saw the trees I used to climb cut down My dreams loaded in a truck for my own good I saw the teacher hit me with eagerness I saw my hands swollen from the whacking I saw myself slowly lose my temper (I saw them) hit me with kindness and affection
For my own good, for my own good Until my mind finally couldn't stand it It went crazy for my own good And I'm in chamber number 9 for my own sake in isolation to find myself
I saw them cut my bit for my bite (I saw them) make clothes from my old clothes for my own good I saw my mother cry desperately I saw my old man leave the country for my own good I saw my friends pull themselves to pieces for me I saw them want me to cut myself off you I saw them pull me to the station early in the morning To avoid the cell, I had to recite the poem
For my own sake, for my own sake Until my mind finally couldn't stand it It went crazy for my own sake And I'm in chamber number 9 for my own good, in isolation to find myself
For my own good, for my own good My body is numb, and so is my mind Injections, pills, electroshock for my own good Today, they found my seatmate dead While I'm struggling to find myself And I have the pocket knife hidden for my own good
I will try to explain a bit. First he talks about the world "advancing", small houses turning to apartment buildings etc... then how his family was poor, splitting the bread in half for him, making new cloths from the old ones and his father leaving the country to work and finally how his friends tried to help him "stay away from her", meaning heroin. Arrested, having to say the "poem", what the system wanted him to say to avoid prison. Finally ended up in a mental institution following the system's rules "for his own good", which is also the name of the song.
Gia to kalo moy- for my own good. This song is about the system, everything the system does (government media etc) they say that is for your own good (but it never is). Its a song against the system.
Its a great song! As i understand, the meaning of the song is that, when others tell you that things around you happen for your own benefit, usually it is the opposite.
It's an amazing song. To understand it, you have to be an older Greek. It would be much better if there was also a written English interpretation of the song for the viewers of the video. Of course, like any good song, it's still relevant today. I'm glad to hear one of my favorite songs again and from a foreing channel.
Giannis Miliokas is a great person.. I think the first album I've ever bought was Hello Baby by him and the reason for this was a hilarious videoclip of a song on it.. Sadly I can't find it on youtube.
People, you have to read the translation. You will get angry as hell, then you'll get sad ,you'll remember your old times as a child and you'll want hell break loose !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"To tell the poem" is an expression that means to tell something others expect you to say in order to please them but you may not agree.
Its a great song! As i understand, the meaning of the song is that, when others tell you that things around you happen for your own benefit, usually it is the opposite.
Ακριβως !!!!!!
