They've just introduced Jazz in Fiji and its very interesting, kept hearing its fuel consumption is so good. Great choice for first time car buyers. Thank you for the video.
Really glad I found this channel mate. I think your reviews are excellent and enjoy the "classics" as well! I'm pleased you enjoyed the drive in these. We need a do-it-all, have had a 2005 Fit for 10 years as our "second car" (makes me feel flash saying that) that we just can't figure out a reason to sell having daily driven it and shifted house in it (3 times and at distance) and road tripped in it...We liked the Crosstar and then we also sat in a grey RS and thought we'd look way cool (ok my wife thinks only granmas drive these)..the exterior design is a step up. From certain angles they look great (my left eye has a cataract so..).but the interior is outstanding. I think they nailed it. We just love the space and the magic seats and the looks now. And we liked the grey Civic Type R as well. We liked it very, very much indeed. It was also in grey. But it's gone....sigh....
As a (rare) American who really enjoyed owning a 2nd gen 5MT Fit Sport (Jazz), I gotta say this new gen really steps up the quality and feature set. But the styling isn't as sporty as past generations and enthusiasts would prefer a proper manual transmission. I'm also really sad that all small sub-compact cars like this have been cut from our market. These video reviews are the closest I'll get to one of these great little cars.
The smaller the vehicle, the tighter the profit margin. Combine that with a general consumer preference for large SUVs and ridiculous financing options and the small cars margins were trending negative.
Nice review mate! In these days of absurd fuel prices the Jazz would be a good shout! Interior is very nice for the small car segment and it seems quick enough for most normal driving situations.
Great overview of the new models. Honda South Africa also gets very similar specs to NZ, except they've switched the Jazz to the Fit name for this generation. But I still find it weird that our indicator stalk is on the left (like the Euro cars), and not on the right as I've always known and expected Japanese cars to be.
I have got my new Jazz RS for couple of months now. It really nice to to drive and lots of fun to drive as well. Only the sales man wasn’t response much otherwise overall it’s very good experience to have one of this small car.
_Another great review, something a little different. I’ve test driven the new 11th gen Civic Hybrid and came away very impressed with the level of sophistication & handling for a “hybrid”. Sounds like the Jazz is in the same league_ 🙌🏼
KiwiCarLife; keen for your feedback on the B mode in the LS vs the paddles in the RS. A Honda dealer principal told me this week the RS paddles were a gimmick but we live on a steep hill and I cannot convince my partner to use paddles for engine braking whereas from my trucking background I always use them. The LS appeals due to the extra soft fruit [leather, heated seats, wireless charger] but if you felt the RS paddles were offering better regenerative braking that might be the key issue. It does annoy me that Honda don't fully apply their safety suite to the Jazz; no BSM or RCTA whereas it's finally in the ZRV. Seems like a major fail for a city car.
Yeah RS definitely has stronger regen braking than the Luxe. And imo BSM and RCTA are gimmicks for people who can’t drive. I’ve never owned a car with any active safety features and I’m quite happy about that. Cruise control and Bluetooth/Aux are literally the only two features I care about. The rest is all relating to the drive, handling, gearbox, engine etc. But yeah would be nice if it had it
How does the new Jazz HEV perform in steep inclined roads? The engine has some good torque, wich drives the generator, and the generator drives the electric motors. How does the torque translate, specially when climbing inclined roads? Any tests done in this aspect? Thanks for the insight.
Actually considering selling my CM2 for one of these. But here in the Netherlands we have such ridiculous prices. These go for 35K euro at the moment. Maybe ill put up with the accord for another year or two, and get a used one. This facelift looks a lot better as well.
Please tell me two things: (a) am I correct in surmising that at all speeds, now the engine js more powerful that means it doesn't have to work so hard as the outgoing model and (b) does it additionally follow that at all speeds - repeat, at all speeds- the cabin is now a noticeably quieter place?
I have Honda Fit GP4 2012, imported to Sri Lanka in 2015 1st owner in SL still driving the same with 150000km in ODO… SL band imports since 2020… is this feel like GP4… Glad if you can compare both…
Man, I have no idea why they cut the Jazz from Australia. I see so many of every model still driving around. Missed opportunity with the state of our car market.
They aren't making the fourth gen of Jazz in Thailand so Honda Australia deemed it not profitable to import. Honda Australia has lost the plot though, 47k+ for Civic, still selling old gen Accord/CRV and no longer selling the Jazz. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up only offering 2-3 models in the near future.
@@jay-uo2bi Yeah it's unreal. The entire car market is dying. Very sad to see. I have no idea who's idea it was to drop small city cars in favor of massive SUV's and soft roaders. Rubs me the entirely wrong way when we're supposed to be about efficiency and sustainability and massive cars go completely against that. Makes me wonder if the government has given car manufacturers an ultimatum of sorts here.
Nice review! But you mentioned little about the different driving modes offered by the RS. You had the chance to tell if you may prefer the Sport mode of RS to the Normal mode of the Luxe Sport. And maybe you could test if two trims have different suspension tuning and handling feedback.
@@leekuan2007 do you want heated leather seats and wireless charger for $300 more? Or do you not like leather and want a sportier look like the old gk5 RS
@Rob Napier Correct about throttle response, however the new Jazz does not have adaptive dampers or steering so there is no way for it to adjust the steering response or suspension firmness
@Rob Napier Thanks a lot! Yeah, your explanation is very thorough and logical. I guess I will just pick the LS and remember to switch to the B gear when needed (congested traffic and downhill), for better fuel economy. Frankly the Regen logic in the three RS driving modes is a bit confusing: I need to pick one out of four levels, the Normal/Eco resets your last choice, etc...The biggest fear actually is, being a geek I may become too busy operating the paddles but have missed the best moment to stomp on the brake, when the brake is the only solution.
Nice review. So the difference between the 2 are leather seats/warp upholstery, wireless charging, paddle shifter, paint choices. For the adaptive cruise control on sport, isit in the RS as well? The engine sound when you floor the RS, does sport produce that sound also?
